I had a great experience at LizMichaels salon. I am new to the area and was recommended by a neighbor. My appointment was scheduled with Brittney. I was nervous as I was going from long to short hair. As soon as I entered the salon I was greeted and offered a drink from a extremely friendly receptionist and I was told Brittney would be right with me. She was right on time. No waiting like I have done in other salons.
We had a consultation on what I was looking for and then she went to work. I have to say it is the best cut I have had in a long time. She took her time with me and even showed me how to style it at home.
Before I left I mentioned that I might want to add some highlights in a few weeks and the receptionist gave me a coupon to use for my next visit!
I just made my appointment today for my highlights, I am super excited.
I would highly recommend this salon!

I had an awful experience at Liz Michaels, they do not meet the clients needs. I brought in a picture and came out with a horrendous style! Very disappointing! I also noticed after I washed my hair the layers on one side were longer than the other! They rush you out the door, and they are not accommodating whatsoever if you are unhappy. Save your money and your hair, do not go here!

i've been in search of a new stylist for a while now. i had a couple of not-so-good experiences with two other stylists at up-scale salons in the apex/cary area. the experience and knowledge wasn't there with these other stylists, and to be honest, i think i sort of felt that from the moment i sat down in the seat and met with them for the first time. however, i tend to give most the benefit of the doubt. so, i proceeded but later found those little voices that were speaking to me were right. i wound up disappointed both times. i wasn't happy with the cut. i wasn't happy with the color. and the icing on the cake...i paid top dollar for inexperience only to be left with a mess on my head that i had to deal with and look at every single day. and it wasn't like i was getting my hair done at great clips or cost cutters. i don't mean that in any offensive way, but these were high-end salons that i was dropping at least $150 in per visit! you would think they would require higher standards and have very experienced stylists at those rates! well, needless to say, i put off looking for someone new for a while, as my experiences left me completely discouraged and afraid to get out there and try it again. what would i end up with next? but, with the frustration was still piling up. i was dealing with a bad cut and looking at over-grown roots everyday. something had to give. besides, the holidays were around the corner. i felt that i deserved to feel good about my hair again. so, on a whim, i just decided to pop into lizmichaels to see if i could sit with someone for a quick consulation. that day, i met christian and right from the beginning, i could tell by the way he spoke he had the experience, knowledge and expertise that i so desperately needed! i booked an appointment and went earlier this week. when i arrived, i was still a little apprehensive because of my past experiences, but christian was amazing and he did an excellent job! i was especially nervous about the color process because for the first time in a long time, i was going darker. christian recommended doing this gradually by adding lowlights vs. going dark all over. and he was definitely right about that one! the color couldn?t have turned out any better! as far as the cut, it?s finally balanced and way more manageable now than it has been in months! i will definitely go back and will recommend him to anyone. i?m glad that i finally found someone that not only talks the talk, but also walks the walk! he spoke of his experience and training, which any good talker can do, but he proved his expertise to me and i?m a happy client! it feels good to finally have a stylist that i have complete confidence in and trust with my hair. it was still a pricey visit to the salon, but at least this time around i at least feel like i got my money?s worth! thanks christian!

Needing a new stylist, I found lizmichaels online and decided to make an appointment. I have very thick hair, so I am always a little apprehensive when someone new cuts my hair. Stacey was super friendly on the phone and was able to fit me in with Brittany on the same day. Brittany did a fantastic job with my short cut and thinned my hair just how I like it. Laverna was happy to wax my brows before I left, and I'm pleased with them, too. Eventhough I live about 30 minutes away, I will definitely be going back to Lizmichaels!

I had my first experience at Liz Michael's this Thursday. Even before I stepped foot in the salon, my service was excellent. The receptionists who booked my appointment and called to confirm were both friendly and helpful.

I received the same friendly treatment once in the salon. Christian was my stylist. He was extremely nice, and he definitely listened to, and responded to, what I said I wanted. He did a phenomenal job on my color and cut. Ive already made my next appointment!

After living in the triangle area for about 10 years and trying out many of the "top-rated" salons, I finally found a salon and stylist that meets my expectations! I had a cut/color with Christian and was impressed by his knowledge of coloring techniques and most importantly with the final outcome. I've had my hair highlighted for many years, but never been able to achieve the "natural" look he was able to produce. I will definitely be a return customer! Not to mention, the salon has a quaint and friendly atmosphere that is very welcoming:)

I recently made the decision to try a new salon after being with the same stylist for 6 years, so I was apprehensive. I am a blond and went to Liz Michaels for a cut/color/wash/blow dry with Christian and he did a fabulous job. I've gotten tons of compliments on the cut and color-- I'll definitely be back!

I have finally found the best fit for me. I have spent the last two years trying to find a stylist and salon that works for me. Liz is my girl, "The Liz of Lizmichaels". Liz is so talented, listens to your request but is honest enough to say if something won't work and will suggest something that will. She is fast and knows her stuff. I have never had such beautiful color or a cut that falls right into place each and everyday. You are stuck with me Liz, I am a Happy woman! Thank You!

This was my first time going to the salon...Kim cut my hair and she did an amazing job!!! She was so sweet and friendly and she's about the most adorable little thing you'll ever see! I have long, thick hair and she handled it with ease. Leaving the salon my hair looked and felt better than ever! Everyone in the salon was very friendly and had very trendy hair cuts with highlights and good color. I will definitely be returning. The pricing is pretty standard, for a shampoo/cut/style, my haircut was $50. I have been to spa by mitchell's before on 20% off tuesdays and paid only a little less than that for a less friendly environment and less talented stylists. So, all in all it's worth every penny and you won't be disappointed when it's all said and done. I highly recommend Kim!!

I am not going to say her name, but I think she is the newest girl. I think she has only like maybe a year or two experience. I am so dissapointed and have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Overpriced, bad color matching and bad attitudes!!! Dont go here, look for a better place!!!!

Laverna, the head honcho at LizMichaels, saved my hair from a world -class disaster. For the first time in my life I like my hair, and I am a grandmother! The salon is extremely cool and lovely and the music is to die for! Laverna personally downloads and designs her own playlists from an eclectic variety of sources and should she ever decide to go FM she could have her own show!
Go for the haircuts and go for the song cuts! And try to hold your head and body still when that great music is playing!

I've been going here for a few months now. You wont find another salon like this in the apex/fuquay area. Its pretty upscale for the area. The prices are a little high, but expected. I loved my initial haircut, but every few months I go in to have it trimmed and the girl that cuts my hair cuts way too much off in the back, and it ends up resembling victoria beckhams hair cut, long in the front and short in the back. I guess I'll have to be more aggressive in letting her know what I do and do not want. But other than that, good place!

It has been awhile since my last hair cut. Just moved to Apex and was dreading having to find a salon and stylist that I would be comfortable going to. I did some research on the web and came upon the reviews from Lizmichaels clients. Although you cant trust everything you read online, I took the chance and called and made an appt. Luckily, they had an opening and was able to come the same day. I arrived at the quaint and stylish salon and was greeted with a friendly smile. My stylist, Cynthia was right on time. She made me feel so welcome and comfortable. When I described what I wanted done with my hair, she was very knowledgeable
about the techniques and gave me ideas and tips regarding my cut. I just couldnt believe how comfortable I was. I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is in need of a regular hair stylist. Im quite sure that every stylist there have the same level of skills and friendliness that Cynthia provided me but I will definitely go back to her. Im even thinking about getting some hilites when I go back to her. I cant wait. Thank you Cynthia for making my visit a positive and pleasurable one. Ill see you on my next appt. =)

P.S.
BTW, the prices are quite reasonable. Just another perk of this wonderful salon.

Last year I moved to North Carolina not knowing anyone, so I didn't have anyone to ask for a recommendation for a hairstylist. I lucked out in choosing lizmichaels hair studio. I see Cynthia, and she is great. She's given me the best haircut and color that I've ever had. And the salon itself is very clean and professional.

So you know, I moved to Raleigh from California in August. The last appointment I had before I left in August was my longtime hair stylist. That was probably my greatest fear in relocating, not having a hair stylist, right up there with needing a new doctor.
I tried one salon in North Raleigh. But didn't go back, it just wasn't a comfortable fit.
Then I knew I needed to find someone soon before my roots got too long and I really pushed it.
During one of my visits to City Search, I came across the reviews for LizMichaels Hair Studio and then went to their website. I saw their decor and fell in love.
I called and made an appointment with Laverna. She immediately made me feel comfortable and sat me in her station and talked with me about what I wanted to acheive. She colored and cut my hair which was in desperate need. The salon is in Apex, it was easy for me to get to from my rural Raleigh location, there is plenty of parking and the studio is gorgeous. I highly recommend Laverna!!

I recently got a wild hair (no pun intended) to cut my long long hair off for the summer. I wanted to try someone and somewhere new. LizMichaels was recommended to me by one of my friends. I was very overwhelmed with the thought of losing my hair that was a little past halfway down my back and walked in very nervous about the whole thing. My appointment was with Sarah (and shame on me because her last name escapes me...I'm pretty sure she is the only Sarah there). Right from the get go she shared ideas with me about what I expressed that I wanted to do. She put me so at ease and walked me through what she was about to do so I wasn't surprised by anything. She obviously understood that chopping your hair off is a big deal to a girl and couldn't have been more perfect during the whole process. When all was said and done she probably cut about 9-11 inches off. The back is stacked and angled and longer towards the font. My bangs are to die for and the color is stunning. Sarah is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. This is by far more than I could have expected and the most to die for hair cut I have had my entire life. And believe me there have been tons. It may sound silly to say but Sarah put a confidence back in me that I haven't had in a while. I honestly feel so much prettier, hot and totally jealous of myself! Haha. It's a good change that she helped make happen.

The atmosphere is marvelous. It was super charming as was the staff that worked there that day. Just a comfortable place to be and I will DEFINITELY go back and recommend them and Sarah to everyone I know. Rock on LizMichaels.

I went for a super cute fringey bob that Reese Witherspoon just debuted and walked out with a cut looking more like a Victoria Beckham asymmetrical cut . Noelle, obviously didn't bother to even really look at the photo I brought in and just cut away. The front looked okay when she styled it that day, although not like the photo, but could be manageable as I understand one can't necessarily duplicate a style in a photo. The hair in the back, however, is maybe an inch "long" and was in bulky, stacked layers The front and back were "disconnected" and from the back it looked like she forgot to even cut the sides. No layers at all.

I called and talked to Laverna 2 days later when I realized I couldn't deal with this "style". She had me come in that afternoon to have it corrected. Erin did a fabulous job taking the bulk out of my very thick hair and added great layers to the sides so they blend with the back. I am pleased with the corrections even though it is not at all the cut I was looking for when I first went in. I will return to Erin for future cuts as she really worked with me to get a style I'd be happy with until it grows out a bit. Thanks Erin!

This is the place you have been looking for! Just went to Lizmichaels in search of an upper class salon to take over my hair as I was tired of going to another salon that has become so commercialized. Laverna did a WONDERFUL job! With color, high lites, low lites, and a cut, I left with a wonderful feeling and adorable hair. She took her time with me, taught me the correct technique for flat ironing and lots of info on using the correct product. Although they carried the top of the line Loreal products, she never once tried to sell me any product like the other salons pressure me to do! As for the environment, very professional, courteous and trendy. You CANNOT go wrong going here!

The word haircut makes my palms sweaty and my heart race. Having had many awful haircuts in my lifetime, I am very cautious and skeptical of any stylist and I usually stick to a simple trim so that I can avoid any major, irreparable damage. A friend recommended LIZMICHAELS, so I thought I'd put them through my Three Step test.

Step One - scoped out their website. I'm a firm believer that a business's website is a fairly accurate reflection of their philosophy and approach. A few little issues here and there on the site, but overall - it was attempting to achieve a very fresh and modern look. Right on.

Step Two - scheduled an appointment. I was looking for a stylist who could easily interpret my jibberish and garble about razor cuts, length and dislikes. Not only should the stylist be able to decipher my rant, but also morph those details into a cut that would flatter my face and features. The receptionist (extremely friendly) recommended Erin. Alright. So the appointment with Erin was booked. Moving on...

Step Three - the cut. Upon arriving at the studio, I was offered a complimentary beverage. Ladies with my anxiety about hair should absolutely indulge in a glass of wine prior to the cut. It really makes life easier on both the client and the stylist. Looking around, the studio is decorated fabulously and though very chic and modern, is still comfortable and pristine. Erin was ready to begin our appointment right on time (scoring very big points with me). She listened, described exactly what she was going to do to my hair and when it was all over - VOILA. The perfect cut. All the while, it was very pleasant to gab with Erin about little things that are personal enough to make you feel like more than a client, but not the town gossip.

LIZMICHAELS passed my Three Step test with flying colors and I absolutely recommend them, especially Erin, to anyone who is tired of the hair cut-induced anxiety attacks. Enjoy!

This place is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS I moved here from NYC where the salon's have a certain atmosphere and you have celebrity type stylists and so forth. I was so sure I would never find the same thing here in NC . This place was recommended to me by a neighbor and I made an appointment with Sarah. I walked in and immediately felt like I was back in NYC. It is almost like they took my Soho salon and put in this wonderfully fantastic building in Apex. They were all so welcoming and sweet. They have great customer service too...like drinks are offered including beer or wine...LOVE IT! It's just so relaxing. Sarah did an AMAZING job on my hair and I will certainly go back again and again and tell as many people as my mouth will allow. I actually have people stopping me and asking me who does my hair and I happily tell them LizMichaels. Also the price is definitely worth it and the owner is absolutely devine. There are very few places where the owner is as involved as she is and it is refreshing. Sarah will be seeing me soon!

I had the best experience at Lizmichaels hair studio of any salon I have ever been to. The stylist are so talented,fun,trendy and professional. I have finally found a place that can master the perfect shades of blond not to mention the great cut & style. I have had more compliments on my hair than I can count. The atmosphere is awesome along with the customer service. Thanks girls, I am a lifer!!

I have been salon hopping around the triangle for what seems like forever now....but not anymore! I was so happy to find Lizmichaels Hair Studio. I received a beautiful hilite and a haircut that I get compliments on everyday...even by complete strangers! It was such a pleasent experience and I am looking forward to my next visit.

I love LizMichaels. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The stylists are trendy and have a great knowledge of cuts and coloring. Many places pressure you to buy products, but Liz Michaels does not. You want to buy products because they enhance your style and needs for your hair. It's convenient to get to and the hours work great for anyone's schedule. Try it, you like it!

The atmosphere is warm, chic...right down to the music. The stylists are fantastic and know cool trends that fit your life. It feels more like an escape than a hair appointment!
