I went in to have my hair cut and bangs trimmed. I also had a few updo pictures for potential ideas

She took the paper and spent the entire time discussing my hair with the "master" stylist who never spoke to me or heard what I wanted.

My hair was covered in 4 layers of hair spray after I told them several times that I hate hair spray. (I am allergic)
They back combed and teased even though I said I prefer very natural hair style.

They spent 20 minutes saying, "You will prefer it when we are done, it looks ugly before it looks pretty." I spent the same 20 minutes saying "Please wash it and start over, this isn't what I want." and "Hey, I am just as happy with a pony tail, just stop what your doing."

I went home washed my hair and had my mom cut it.
They charged me money and never bothered to cut my hair or trim my bangs. That was the only reason I even walked in the door.. a hair cut/bang trim.

They spend the entire time talking to each other and my friends who come with me. They need to spend time listening to me and helping me cut/trim my hair.

Pros: they have a better reputation than they deserve.

Cons: like listening to them selves talk.

I really enjoyed my experience at Flick. Katy knew exactly what she was doing and exactly what I wanted. She delivered and I am so pleased with the results. Good people work there!

I had been needing a trim badly but had been putting it off because of the $60+ my usual hairdresser charges (salon in Midtown). I finally relented to finding somewhere closer ( I live in the Old Fourth Ward) and thought I would just tell them to barely trim anything but the ends, as I have had other salons other than my regular one make a choppy mess of my hair. I was a walk-in but only had a slight wait and then I was put with Lisa. First off, she's absolutely gorgeous. If you're a guy and don't mind a beautiful girl who can give you a perfect haircut, you might try an appointment with her. More importantly than that, she was very sweet and made me feel very comfortable. But most important of all, she gave me a fantastic haircut. It looked great when I left but when I got home to analyze it myself in my own mirror, it was flawless No strays, no missed pieces, everything was perfectly neat, shaped and sharp ( She gave me some layers in the front and a slight bangs). I have been going to my salon in midtown for a couple years and have been pretty loyal to my hairdresser, but I have to say I will be returning to her for color only, as Lisa did a far better job with my cut. Im not sure what Ill do when Lisa starts doing color

I called as a new client and even though they are open until 8:00 p.m. you cannot schedule an appointment after 5:00 if you would like a cut and partial highlight . . .

I have been a client of Katy's for a very long time now and my hair is perfect every visit. One of the biggest challenges I have had in past is finding a consistent hairstylist. With Katy the results are always beautiful. Most importantly she is very gentle and uses Aveda's natural hair color, so my hair remains very healthy and shiny, not over processed and dry. Plus, she's always running on schedule and although I really enjoy the atmosphere at Flick Hair Studio (and the music) I'm in and out in a very timely manner. She is thorough and teaches me exactly how to recreate my hairstyle at home and educates me on what products work best on my hair. My hair has never looked or felt so good. Katy, you are a true artist. It's refreshing to see some one care so much about their work,

I came in with a hair disaster and left with awesome hair! Thank you to Abby, her patience and attention to detail really made a difference. It is always a little scary going to someone for the first time, but reading the reviews on citysearch I thought I'd give Flick a try. As soon as we started talking I could tell that she was really listening to me, and I felt hopeful once more. I am so glad to have taken the chance, and I have great hair to show for it!! I have been coming to Flick Hair Studio for about a year and a half now. I cannot tell you what a retreat it is to have an experience at Flick. The moment you walk through the door warm, friendly faces greet you along with the irresistible aroma of the actual salon (I think they burn one of their candles). Abbi, the owner, was my assigned stylist and I am certainly glad she was. Every time she cuts it, I walk away feeling incredibly fresh and chic, yet myself. She even taught me little tricks to do at home to upkeep the style. Whilst in Abbi's chair, the high talent of New York and England combine to make your hair look the most SENSATIONAL it ever has, plus some. The whole studio is full of ladies who LOVE what they do and the people they see. I have also noticed various events her studio participates in to better the community. I recommend this place to anyone wanting true talent without the expense of a yuppie/high profile atmosphere. Flick Hair Studio is Atlanta's best kept secret.

I needed a new salon when I moved ITP and read great reviews for Flick. Most of the reviews recommended Brittany so I took a risk and tried a new short cut and absolutely loved it!! Brittany is every bit as good as others have said and I would recommend her to anyone:)

I have been getting my hair cut in Atlanta for over 5 years and have tried a number of upscale salons but never have I been as satisfied as I am with Flick. Katy has given me the best hair cut of my life. Every time I get the color done I?m even happier with it. She picked an amazing color combination for summer and now that it is fall it has been a great transition. If you are looking for a positive change and not sure what you want you want feel free to put you hair in the hands of flick. I recommend Katy if you are looking for a cut and color that will keep you coming back.

While on travel for two weeks in Atlanta, my friend and I found ourselves in dire need of haircuts and some time away from stuffy conference rooms. So I pulled up CitySearch on my laptop and sent an email to Flick. The very next day, I received a phone call from Abby thanking me for emailing her and letting me know that she'd call me as soon as she had her appointment book in hand. True to her word, I got a phone call and two appointments for the same time with two stylists on Tuesday. We arrived and were ushered to chairs in the salon. Can I just say how heavenly the smell was? Oh man, those Aveda products were soothing and energizing at the same time. We were treated to pre-shampoo scalp massages from the wonderful Jenna and I admit to nearly falling asleep in the chair. Abby was running a bit behind, so she threw in a complimentary deep conditioning treatment for me while I waited. My friend got her hair styled by the adorable Brittany - whose own short hairdo made me consider chopping mine - and the results are amazing. The cut falls within military regulations (a must) and is still feminine, edgy, and completely modern. Abby took my own overgrown bob and shaped it up, releasing the texture inside, and giving it shape and movement. My hair actually looks lighter and is so well behaved. Jenna also did a fabulous job waxing the eyebrows of we overgrown women and we left the salon refreshed, relaxed, and feeling wonderful. Thank you ladies for rescuing two weary travelers and helping restore the women within. We'll definitely be back! Stacy and Tracy from Maryland.

I went to flick studios to be a 'model' for a girl learning to do a graduated bob....Abigale did most of the cutting while showing Cherita how to do the cut....I had been the victim of an awful haircut about a month ago and now I LOVE my hair! She took what she had to work with (which wasnt much of anything) and made it into something classic and plain out CUTE :) I'd go back to them any day.....the hair cut took a while but it was worth it for the simple fact that i know my hair looks good and that it was done right THANKS FLICK!

It is my great luck that I found her as a stylist whom I could certainly trust and communicate about my preferences very simply and happily. I love my haircut, it so chick! And I recommend her to everybody who decides to go to Flick hair salon.

After an unfortunate haircut experience (from a sweet stylist who didn't have strong technical skills), I drove in desperation to Flick hoping to salvage the haircut with a fringe reshaping (had an important social engagement coming up). They were very professional and welcoming and sent me to Brittany, who did a tremendous job softening and blending the fringe with the rest of my hair. Even though it was a quickie, she took her time and made sure that it was as perfect as she could make it. I'm already getting lots of compliments! *whew,* what a relief!

I have been doing research on "celebrity hairstylists" in Atlanta b/c I wanted an AMAZING haircut. My hair was to the middle of my back and I just wanted a complete make over! I stumbled upon an amazing review about Flick. I called and asked if they had any celebrity stylits and they said there was 1 lady who had cut Pink's hair and Tommy Lee! I couldnt get into her appt due to working full time, but she mentioned Abigaile, the owner. I went to her and she was AMAZING! She cut about 6 inches off! She told me if I wanted it shorter in the next few days to come back an she would do it! Well....I did want it shorter, after safely cutting 6 inches! :) I went back and she cut my hair for free - in a short bob! She took her time too! I was worried a free cut might be quick, but she was very maticulate! I will definitly be going back to see her!!

23, and having recently moved to Atlanta, it quickly became apparent to me, that I needed a new hair cut/style. I decided to try out Flick after reviewing several salons online and calling about their price ranges... The prices were reasonable, especially for an Aveda salon and the atmosphere looked inviting, even on the computer screen. Brittany was my assigned hair stylist and she certainly delivered all and more than I was hoping for. Having long Blonde hair, I had grown tired of the weight that came with it. She helped me decide on layers to lighten it up and create movement. She took the time to blow-dry it to perfection before styling it in such a way, that I wish I could go have her fix my hair EVERY day.
: ) !!! I would definitley reccomment Brittany to anyone... I just hope she doesnt get too overwheled with clients so that I can have her as my hair styist again next time I go.

I recently relocated to Atlanta. I saw Flick?s sign while shopping at the Edgewood center and decided to give them a call. I have never been so pleased with my hair. My cut and color are amazing. Abagail is a true professional with a ton of experience. The environment is also very inviting. The service from all the employees is exceptional and I recommend this salon to any one who is looking for a change in style or simply want to try someplace new.

I'm a 24 year old dude with dark brown hair. I went in with a mop and came out with a shockingly sweet new dew. She took her time and gave it the perfect artistic touch. Best haircut ever, my friends were shocked. It's worth every penny, go there and get her to give you a new hackjob and you'll feel the same way too.

Flick Hair Studio is AMAZING! The stylists are the coolest, sweetest bunch in the whole of Atlanta. My stylist that I had been going to for years picked up and moved without telling anyone and I was forced to scramble to find a salon fast! I called and the answering machine informed me they weren't opened yet, but as soon as I hung up one of the girls called me back saying she saw on caller id she had missed my call. Seriously- I was impressed. I got an appt with Abbie and she blew my mind! Everyone could not stop drooling over my hair. I came back a month later and she did it again! Hair and color looked amazing! Now I have had my hair done for the third time and it is awesome! She has done my coworker's and best friend's hair and we all have our own individual styles and she compliments them with the best hair cuts ever!
When you are at Flick you are hanging out with friends. You talk about anything and everything and are always laughing and having a good time. And you leave with model hair!

Katy at Flick Hair Studio does an excellent job coloring hair. She always has the best suggestions as to what color would look good with my coloring. She always adds a couple of extra highlights to fully accentuate the color. I've been having my hair colored for over 10 years and Katy is the best!!! This salon is very clean and has a great atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and easy to talk to. I did not feel out of place or uncomfortable. There was no high pressure to buy their products. When I leave this salon, I feel great!!!

I just want to thank the people at Flicks for a great salon experience. Abbi took good care of me and quickly turned my hair from a ratty mess into a work of art :) I had a style and highlights. Loved every minute of it. And I am very particular when it comes to my hair! So, thanks to everyone at Flicks. I will be back.

Flick hair studio is amazing. You are greeted professionally and taken care of from the minute you walk in until the minute you leave. Susan does my hair and she is great, very bubbly and fun to chat with as she does your cut or color. I ususally just let her do whatever she feels like with my hair, and she always comes up with something amazing and great that really suits me. She is very talented, and I always love my color and cut because she will have come up with an idea that I had never thought of. Also, Flick stocks all the Aveda products which I love, and all the stylists know how to use them and make recommendations (but they wont push you into buying anything you dont really need).

Overall, Flick is FUN and you look good when you leave.

This salon has talented stylists without the attitude of many others in the city. I got a cut and color by SueShelley. My hair is very short. She's great with the razor and understands short hair. My hair is easy to style, looks soft and organic, and my color highlights the great cut.

I am very picky about getting my hair done and I absolutely loved this place. The location is great!! Its right in the new edgewood shopping center off Moreland Ave. The woman who owns the salon is adorable and so sweet. The location is perfect for send your boyfriend to check out Lowe's and Best Buys while you get your hair done. Or plan a girls day and get your hair done, then walk over to nail salon, then lunch at RuSans or Figo and finish up at at Tjmaxx or Target for clothes and accessories. The salon was great, I got exactly what I wanted with my hair. As I said earlier I am very picky about getting my hair done, rarely do I cut it since it is so long and I haven't dyed, colored, or highlighted in about 4 years. But when I came in and got my hair done I received excellent results, she very lightly highlighted my hair giving it a summer sun kissed look. Then she trimmed my hair a little and angled and layered it a little to give some volume and bounce since my hair is very straight and limp. They also used aveda products whichI loved! Overall I'd say service was great, location was great and I got exactly what I was looking!!

If you are a person who expects the best, then let me tell you, having Katy do your color is the only option for you! She is very knowledgeable and so easy to talk to. Katy gave me exactly what I wanted. My hair was so creative and vibrant. I got a lot of complements on how good it looked. Actually, the whole experience was delightful! Everyone was so nice and actually made me feel welcome to be there. This is the only salon I will be going to now.

She was great she had a fun personality and really listened. My highlights are wonderful! I recently visited Flick Studio and was highly impressed. Having lived in the Decatur/Atlanta area for 11 years, I have frequented many salons in the area. I found Flick Studio and it's stylists to be top notch--- the best I've found anywhere. I recently had a not so great experience at another salon, and was "saved" when I came to see Katie-- the best colorist in Atlanta. The level of professionalism along with the comfortable setting are key in creating the unique vibe that this small urban salon will be known for. There is also a wide array of products, plenty of things to stock up on while you're there. Don't waste your money anywhere else!

For the first time in my life, I got help actually figuring out what I really wanted to do with my hair. With a friendly and collaborative approach, Abigail cut and styled my hair to look and feel exactly how I wanted to feel - upbeat, bold, and absolutely in love with my hair! She also tuned me into a fantastic place to buy dresses, complete with directions from mapquest printed out for me on my way. Loved it, can't wait to return!

I tried Flick on a whim, as my usual colorist had left the salon I usually patronize. What an amazing place! Abagail, the owner did my color and cut, and my hair has not looked this great in years. She has tons of NYC experience, minus the big-city attitude. The other stylists were professional and warm, and all of the clients couldn't help but admire each other's hair. Two thumbs up!

I happened upon Flick running errands in the neighborhood. Feeling frustrated with my current stylist, I called for an appointment and worked with Abigail who is in one word ? brilliant! Abigail listened to everything I wanted, asked me questions through out the process to ensure we were on the same page, and cuts with the precision of a surgeon. She is an incredible artist and skilled at her craft. She gave me the most amazing bob that is both fashion forward and easy to manage. My hair looks so good that I feel like a celebrity. I knew it looked great when my husband could not stop staring and checking me out! I was not only pleased with the outcome but the service and overall feeling of the hip and relaxed salon. Try the Sap Moss shampoo and conditioner?it smells like heaven.

I had a horrible color problem and Abigail was a genius at fixing it without a blink. Mikey is the most caring greeter, making you feel that he'll get whatever you need. This is the best salon in the Decatur/Vi-Hi/East Atlanta area, with stylists who not only have experience that would make other salon owner's hair frizz, but the most intelligent and caring attitude around. My money's here - and prices are very reasonable. They listen and tell you what they're doing better than your doctor. Great place and the Brit radio station playing in the background of the airy blue colors of this loft space just adds that Euro-chic feel that really exists in East Atlanta. I'm not going back to my stylist of 10 years. Flick has my heart - and my hair. And the Aveda products will make you drool. Nothing better. Try it. You'll see.

I recently moved to Atlanta and thought i would never find a salon and stylist that was as good as the salon i had been going to for years. I happened to find Flick when they first opened and had the best experience! It is an amazing salon and everyone that works there is so friendly, experienced and knowledgeable. It was the best customer service i had ever received at a salon and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. I finally found the perfect place.
