I want everyone to know how terrible this school is. This place is a scam. It is a for profit "school", if you want to call it that, and all they care about is getting your money. I have had several bad experiences with them. I shouldve known better when the recruiter called me constantly for months. When I finally did go in I was told that my previous college credits would transfer over and that they could accomidate my busy schedule seeing as they had morning, afternoon, and evening classes.
When I noticed that only one of my previous college credits (they took a English Comp. 2 credit and transfered it as their English Comp 1) had transferred naturally I questioned it. I was told that my previous college's course requirements did not meet the standards of Sanford Browns course requirements. I found that odd because I had gone to two very reputable community colleges in St. Louis and Belleville Illinois. When I asked if I could bring in those colleges course catalogs with the course descriptions in them I was told "dont bother" because the credits will not transfer.
Very recently I came into a situation where I was able to attend classes full time. When I went to my department head to tell her I could do the full time day classes I was told that they dont do that and if I wanted to go full time I had to go when they offered the class which could be day or afternoon. I told her my recruiter told me I could go day, afternoon, or evening classes, she told me 'We dont do that anymore".
BUT the straw on the camel's back is what happened to me the other day. Im not exactly sure how they recruit students, but there are a lot of highschool drop outs that have their GEDs attending SBC. These are young people, around 17-18 years old and they are ALL bussed in from the ghetto East St. Louis area. Most of them can barely read. One of them did not like a comment I made and decided to go off on me and berate me in the classroom. She was calling me a white ***** and telling me she was going to beat my a** in the parking lot. The teacher did nothing so I left. When I went to her department head I was told that there was nothing that they could do in that moment to help me. Apparently after I left she continued calling the other white girls in the class white b*****s. They finally made her leave (for the day, big deal) after another girl said she would leave the school if they didnt fix the problem right then.
Like I said, all these people care about is your money. They dont care if anyone fails because that just means that they have to stay at the school longer to make up the class and that makes the school more money. They will tell you anything to get you in!!!! I wouldnt be suprised if the person who wrote the review about "dont listen to the Sanford Brown bashers" is affiliated with them. Their verbage sounded almost to the T like my recruiter, Carter, who was one of the people who lied to me the most.
I actually have a lawyer and we are looking into suing them on the grounds of fraud so I dont have to pay back a student loan that helped me get no where!

I was going to take a few classes here awhile back. The advisor I spoke with was trying very hard to get me to attend. It was also very expensive. Probably why the advisor was so pushy. The school is in a very good location. It is off of interstate 270 right before the MO state line. And they do offer a lot of courses. I just don't like being pushed into anything. I guess if you are serious about getting a degree and you live close, it might be worth the money.
