All I have to say is they got it all wrong when they called it "dog training" - It is definitely more about training people. I was recommended to bark busters from my veterinarian, Dr. Benjamin, because I have a 3 year old Australian Shepard who has a mind of her own. Not only was she getting on the counters, but she literally stole EVERYTHING in sight- from shoes to unopened soup cans, to paper towels, and these are just a few of her issues. Randy came over to my house, and instantly I could see the change in my dog- I mean instantly. He walked in the door and stood tall without aknowledging her, and rather than jumping and barking, she simply laid down. It took practice, but in about a month I was able to walk her outside without it ending up her taking me for a walk :D The kleptomania also vanished, although that took a little longer. Their methods work because you speak to the dog in language they can understand rather than expecting them to learn English. If you've ever seen Cesar Millan in The Dog Whisperer, then you have a good idea of what these people can do for you. It is one on one attention in your dogs natural home environment, which is important to me. I have heard horror stories about the "training camps" which are ineffective because, as I said, it's really people training! Also, I don't know of any dog who can pay attention in another environment with so many playmates around! Not only was Randy a great trainer, but he took a genuine interest in my dog and called a week afterwards to see how it was going. I didn't think my mom fully understood the method, so he came out to my house again and taught my mom. They may seem expensive, but TOTALLY worth it!
