Life Makeovers

I'm a complete dullard when it comes to understanding what works well for my body type, and I made the transition to stay-at-home mom when my son was born in 2007. I was sick of wearing clothes that no longer fit (or flattered me) and I am so, so grateful I made the investment to spend some time with Trudi. She's a mere slip of a thing, but don't be fooled -- Trudi's a powerhouse when walking through a store and deciding what might work for you. She showed me things I NEVER would have picked out on my own and I can't tell you how surprised I was to find I actually enjoyed shopping. When I left, I had purchased things that I can't wait to wear. Trudi listened when I told her certain things just didn't make me comfortable, but she also challenged me so that I felt, in the end, like I had started to see myself differently. I told her not to lose my email address in her database; I'll definitely be calling her next season, too. (Oh, and FWIW, I'm not wealthy by any means. She was respectful of my budget and helped me find pieces that will mix-and-match easily.)

Pros: Wants to dress YOU, not a model; takes lifestyle/budget into account

Cons: Only that I can't shop with her every month!

After returning to work as a stay at home mom for six years, my wardrobe needed to be updated and refocused. Before meeting with me, Trudi asked that I answer a few questions that would help her understand my personal style and goals. When she arrived at my home, she already had a good idea of what my needs were and so our time together was spent very efficiently. She is not all business though! We had a lot of fun going through my closet. Trudi makes you immediately feel comfortable and relaxed and she is like the best girlfriend that you always wanted. She took a very detailed look at my wardrobe, jewelry, and even my make up. After taking inventory of my closet and having me try on just about everything to make sure that it fit me properly or the colors were right for my skintone, she made a list of the items that I needed. The afternoon shopping for the pieces I needed was fun and exiciting also. Just about every store we entered, the sales people knew Trudi and you could tell that she was well respected by them. I walked away from my experience with Trudi with a more focused attitude regarding my wardrobe. She truly has a gift for communicating with people and has an eye for what styles, colors and fabrics will work for different body types, while keeping one's unique personaly and and lifestyle in mind. Trudi was absolutely the best present I could have given to myself!

After transitioning from a full-time career as a sales VP in Boston, MA to a full-time career as a stay-at-home mom in Austin, I realized my wardrobe had not shifted with my new life. I found myself buying both groceries and clothing at Target, whatever was fast and convenient between naps and playgroups. My husband operates his own company, so when clients would visit our home or I had to join him on travel for business; it was always a mad rush trying to find something appropriate to wear. Trudi was my savior!

As we combed through my closet together, it was eye opening and empowering to discover why some things just sat there for months ? even years! Trudi is like having the sensible, stylish sister or friend you always wanted and NEEDED shopping right by your side. Most importantly, we quickly got my wardrobe into shape as she was able to be flexible in working within my busy schedule. After relocating, I now have a trusted hairstylist, shopping resources, and salon ? all thanks to Trudi. I find myself getting out and about more and getting involved because I know I?m ready to go ? day or night.

As my lifestyle continues to evolve, Trudi will definitely be a personal resource on speed-dial for me and my husband! Considering I was a bit uncertain about contacting a lifestyle consultant in the first place, Trudi?s sincerity, kindness, and clear talent and love for what she does made the experience effortless and such fun. This was one of the best investments I?ve ever made ? and the experience goes far beyond clothing.

Trudi was a gift to me. Early in our discussions, Trudi was made aware of the fact that I was working with a limited budget, yet had a high level of motivation. Before we ever met, she encouraged me to read a book that helped me to establish my "personal style statement". This process helped us to maximize our time together, as well as give me a foundation for future development. I found Trudi to be an invaluable resource. She was highly professional, clearly knowledgeable, and greatly respected by the people we encountered during our shopping excursion. I found the whole experience to be rewarding and fun (which is remarkable since I usually dislike shopping). Trudi has continued to be a resource for me...fielding questions that arise, offering suggestions, and checking in to see how I have been doing. Trudi is bright, kind and patient. She has a unique gift that she shares generously!

Do you ever go into your 'full-to-the-brim' closet and feel like there is nothing to wear? Or do you ever try on two, three or even four items before you finally find something that looks good enough to go out the door? That's what I was doing before I found Trudi, and she taught me why I was struggling with so much of my clothing. Trudi and I went into my closet and I tried-on each piece for her and she showed me why an item was right or wrong for my shape and size, what were my best colors, necklines, etc. Almost none of my things looked good because very little fit me well! We also had a shopping trip where she showed me styles I normally would not have considered, yet they looked fabulous! Trudi offered many helpful suggestions, it was a fun learning experience. Do your 'self' a favor, meet Trudi!

As a "first timer" with an image consultant, I was wonderfully pleased with the time I spent with Trudi. She is personable, professional, and an excellent teacher. I wish I would have done this years ago; I learned so much in a short period of time, and Trudi made it such fun!
