1 Stars: Ditto (Terrible in Medicine / High in Price pt 2) (by billy sol e.)

Rick's review below my is dead on. At $174 per office visit you would think the guy is capable of taking better notes. I asked him for a prescription of probenecid and as he began to write the prescription he asked me what dosage and I told him it didn't matter I would adjust it at home as needed. He apologized and asked me to have Walgreen's call him because he couldn't recall the dosages for that product off hand. This conversation is with prescription pad in hand mind you.

Once again; at $174 per visit you would think he could get out a PDR and look it up or direct staff to do so. But here is the good part; a couple of weeks later I had my prescription provider fax him a form to issue the prescription. His assistant told me that I had to come in for another appointment because he had never prescribed that medication for me before. Unreal. The guy neither took notes that he had intended to write me this prescription nor could he remember it. He obviously denied even remembering it as she did her best to accommodate me and ending up telling me "that without being in the room at that time there wasn't much she could do". These people expect to get paid for this level of service? I will never return to this incompetent buffoon again. I am so disappointed because I had originally thought this guy was going to be a real breath of fresh air. This incident ended up causing me a lot of trouble and I intend to file a complaint. Additionally, he routinely upgraded my level of appointment for enhanced insurance fees. This guy needs to be out of business.

4 Stars: Women's health (by lyera)

Dr. Punjabi orders tests like DHEA-S, Vitamin D OH 25, and various hormone panels for women, so that goes in the plus column.

1 Stars: Terrible at Medicine/High in Price (by Rick R.)

Dr. Punjabi does not have a clue as to "bedside" manner.Loses his chain of thought very easily. Lost his prescription pad on two occasions. Definitely does not understand the needs of his patients. Promotes vitamins/minerals, hypnotherapy. I don't know where he got his medical degree, but I hope they take it back.Very expensive! He has recently acquired medical records from a physician that now works at a hospital. Information is lost and scattered. You might want to avoid this "Wellness" center or get sick of it.

1 Stars: Went in to get help with weight gain.... (by weirdedoutinaustin)

...and during the appointment I was asked if both my kids had the same dad and when I said no, i was asked how I was going to talk to them about intercourse and how I was going to keep them from making the same mistakes i did. I was told that when my daughter is a teenager, who is now 3, I need to tell her, "you get pregnant and I will hurt you." definitely posting a complaint with the state on this one. I was humiliated and scared.

4 Stars: Good Service (by rrn)

I've been a patient of Dr. Punjabi and so has my husband. He and his staff have helped me lose weight and develop an eating/exercise plan and maintenance plan to keep it off. He is always friendily and takes time to listen. He is informative and promotes education of things inwhich he says. He even gave me a book and suggested others to read about subjects we discussed outside of weight loss. I have never had to wait long for any appt. Though he is considered out of network for our insurance. He accepts my regular copay.

5 Stars: Great Results! (by djdking)

I thought I had tried everything to lose weight. A friend told me about Dr. Punjabi and how he had helped her lose over 40 pounds. She talked me into going to see him. I?ve been seeing him now for 11 weeks and have already reached my goal of 20 pounds. I can?t believe it. I still have one more visit but am so happy with my results and the way this has changed my life.

He took the time to set me up with the right nutritional supplements, weekly visits with his weight loss coach and has monitored my health every step of the way. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who cares about losing weight and trashing their bad eating habits for good. I feel like a new person! Thanks, DR. P!!!

1 Stars: This doctor pushes you to buy many expensive vitamins & supplements. (by kt106)

Rip Off! I went to this doctor to get help with my weight gain. He talked to me briefly, walked out of the room, and came back with over five different bottles of vitamins. I told him I had these things at home
(fish oil, etc.). He said that his vitamins were better. How would he know??? The total of all of the bottles of vitamins were over $200. He also tried to push thyroid medicine to replace the one I was already taking. He said that they make their own thyroid medicine and that it's better than synthroid. Note that insurance doesn't pay for any of this! This has to be the worst doctor I have ever been to. I felt like he was trying to get money out of me within the first five minutes of the visit.
