I have been going to Heather for the most part of about 5 years. I am one of those who use too dread when it was time to get my haircut, because I never new if it was going to be good, ok, or terrible... And then I met Heather. She has consistently given me a GREAT haircut coupled with the fact that it's no small task (I have what some might call difficult hair). I have always recommended her to all of my friends cause she will help you conceptualize what you want to accomplish and then give you good feedback on where you and your hair can go from there (as far as health, styling, and tricks to make your hair the best that it can be).

My sister and I have been going to Charlie for many years, even before he was at Salon Sovay. I have strayed once or twice because of commuting distance, but always come back to Charlie. I once saw a "world renowned" stylist who ruined my hair..it had to be cut off to a very short length to get it to grow back healthy. it is now long, silky and soft again..thanks to Charlie. He always shows so much concern, takes all the time he needs and is very precise. He does my highlights and cuts and I could not be happier!! Charlie's private studio also is a place where I can totally DE-STRESS, knowing I am in the most capable hands in Austin!

I've been going to Heather Davis since she was in the outlets in San Marcos. She is amazing. From the very first time she cut my hair, she listened to what I wanted and discussed what would work and what wouldn't with my hair type. She listens to the kind of work you want to put into your hair and teaches as she styles to show you how to recreate it at home. For the past two years, I have gotten really terrible haircuts. I jumped from stylist to stylist wondering if I would ever have good hair again. I had all but resigned myself to a life of hair travesties when somehow I ended up in Heather Davis? salon chair, and I?m glad I did.

The first thing I appreciated was that Heather really took the time to thoroughly discuss with me how she was going to cut my hair and to make sure that we were both on the same page before she began. During the consultation, we also discussed future plans for my hair and how the cut I was going to get would facilitate the achievement of my present and future hair goals/visions.

During the hair cut, Heather was very personable and easy to talk with. I also felt very comfortable stopping her and asking her questions about the procedure, and she seemed pleased to lend her expertise to the conversation, which was very reassuring.

After we were done, Heather then encouraged me to go home and play with my new style and come back if anything needed to be adjusted. This was very refreshing since most stylists seem to be offended when you ask them to adjust your cut; they take it personally as if they did something wrong, but Heather understands that sometimes you just change your mind.

The main quality that stood out about Heather is that she looked at me as a person- not as a client. She genuinely cared about me and my needs and that kind of selflessness really translated into her work and created amazing results. Plus, she?s really sweet. I will be back!

Sovay, the Salon's owner, is not only a real talent, but she will be completely upfront and honest with you about whether or not she thinks you have the hair to pull off a particular style or cut. Something I greatly appreciate since my hair is kind of thin and fine. She is the ONLY person I trust for a cut, but she is excellent with color as well. I'm one of those people that always hates the way I look after the stylist has blown me out and styled my hair. No one ever does it the way I like it, or in a way that is even sort of representative of MY STYLE! Sovay is the exception here. When I leave her salon, I feel like a better version of ME, not like a replica of her, or the last 10 people she just styled, or what SHE THINKS my style should be. She listens, she consults you every step of the way, she's excellent at what she does, and I HIGHLY recommend her work!

Been going to Charlie for a long time now and one day decided that it was time to bid my medium-length curls farewell. He gave me the most awesome short 'do for my curly hair, I get nothing but complements on it all of the time and my confidence level has gone up a few notches. My boyfriend, who was apprehensive about me chopping off my signature curls, loved it and said it was the haircut I was meant to have.

I recently moved to Austin from NY and I have had several horrible experiences at various salons throughout Austin. I found Salon Sovay online and after speaking personally with the owner, Savoy Reeder, and reading numberous rave reviews about Charlie, I scheduled an appointment. Charlie scheduled 3 hours with me for my first visit. He spent nearly 35 minutes just discussing with me what we could do, offering suggestions and listening to my ideas for a new color and cut. He is extremely personable and detailed - he is a true perfectionist! I have received nothing but compliments on my new hairstyle and color. I wanted something new and turned to Marcy for input. Immediately, I was realized I was being studied like a piece of clay and was in the capable hands of an artist. She suggested and created a style that suits me perfectly and is extremely easy to care for. I recommend her highly.

As a participant in the Miss Texas pageant circuit, I came to Salon Sovay looking for the perfect blonde. I was overjoyed with the beautiful work Sovay did on me, taking me from a mousy brunette to a bombshell. The haircut is gorgeous, easy to replicate at home, and exactly as requested. Not only did I get precisely what I was looking for, but the prices are extremely competitive for such an upscale style. I have sent all of my friends there, too, including many who have to make the hour drive from San Antonio. It is well worth it!

Heather is a very talented hair stylist who can make anyone's hair look amazing, but most good stylists can do this. Heather goes beyond that by listening to her clients wishes, lifestyle, and desires and then turns that into a cut and/or color that is the most flattering for that person. I have to say that since I have been going to her, each consecutive cut and color has been better than the last. The last time I went to her, i told her to do what she does best - and the result was so much more than I could have hoped for! It wasn't what I imagined; it was so much more. If you're not getting the hair cut and color of your dreams - you're NOT going to Heather! Trust Heather to turn a hair cut into a life changing event - you won't be disappointed.

Heather is seriously the best hairstylist I have EVER been to. Almost everytime I go to her, I can't decide what I want, and I tell her to do what she thinks will look best, and everytime I have left with a hairstyle/dye that I have LOVED. When I do know what I want, she always understands and gives me exactly that, or a version of it that looks awesome on me.

Seriously, go to her, and you will never want to go anywhere else. She rocks!

Nearly 3 years ago, I went to Sovay and I am so glad I found her. I've never had a stylist like her before and I am hooked! She took the time to get to know me, my lifestyle, and MY HAIR and over time has transformed my image and my hair into exactly what suits me best and I LOVE it. She has taken the time to train me how I can style my own hair and always answers my questions. I have taken others to her who have completely different hair types than mine and they too were thrilled with the results. It is obvious that Sovay loves what she does and she is fabulous at it! I knew Sovay before she went to hair school, which was a long time dream of hers. I was lucky enough to be her guinea pig on several occasions. I also had the pleasure of watching her go from student to salon owner in no time at all.
Sovay's dedication, creativity, and passion have made her salon a delightful place to visit. She takes pride in her work and will never let you leave unhappy. She always has great tips for how to style your hair. Also, I love the compliments i inevitably get every time I visit Salon Sovay.

Sovay manages a fantastic socially concious salon with fantastic stylists. I've had my hair cut by both Sovay and Heather and they both are AMAZING. I recently also got fantastic color and had my eyelashes tinted and permed by Soyvay and it all was AMAZING too. Soyvay believes in being fair to her stylists and it shows in their work and the whole envirnment of the salon. Last but certainly not least Soyvay helps the less fortunate with makeovers and in other wonderful ways. Support her and support your community and look fantastic.

Erica has been working with my hair for years and she has never disappointed me. I trust her taste and her talent since she is a professional hair stylist who has passion for what she is doing. I like Salon Sovay because Erica is there. The salon itself is pretty impressive. It is contemporary looking and not over decorated. I just spent an amazing 6 hours with Sovay, the owner of Sovay Salon. She works seven days a week and since I was in a hurry she agreed to cut and color my hair on Sunday! When I arrived she gave me a grand tour of her salon, introduced me to her handy man, then spent an extensive amount of time getting to know me. She ask what about my hair was giving me the most trouble then discussed a plan to cover all my needs and MORE! My biggest struggle is my gray hair and the roots! She helped me come up with a plan that will hide my gray, give me get a softer look. After spending hours on my color she then gave me a wonderful WONDERFUL new layered haircut. I think the key was when I got home and washed off my make-up & I looked up into the mirror and realized even without make-up I looked younger! The new color and cut is so flattering! I love it!
Sovay is an artist and truly talented. She is so beautiful and tiny and the friendliest person I've met in a long time. I can't recommend her enough. I have never, ever left a review for anything but my daughter said since it was Sovay's long list of good reviews that gave me the courage to book with her in the first place that just this once I should tell others what an amazing stylist Sovay is. I used to live in CA and went to the same sylist for 10 years, I have lived in Texas for 10 years and been looking and looking.... I am so excited I found Sovay! I recently had my hair cut by Erica at Salon Sovay and had a wonderful experience. I drove from Kyle up to Austin and it was definitely worth the trip. I have very thick hair and Erica took the time required to thin it out properly and gave me an amazing look. I have had a difficult time finding someone to cut short hair and I have now found someone who finally understands my vision and style with where I want my cuts to go as it goes through various stages of growing out. Erica is a very attention to detail stylist and I couldn't be happier!

Charlie Hodges has been my stylist for the past 3 years. I have very fine straight hair that is easily cut very badily. I have lived in Austin for over 12 years and have only found 3 people that could cut it correctly. Charlie is the most professional (on time appts, clean surroundings), very reasonably price, and works with you to get the job done to your complete satisfaction.

Charlie also cuts my wife and her sisters hair. Both have very thick hair, my wife straight and her sister super long and curly. They both are equally happy with the service Charlie provides.

I have had highlights for about the past 12 years and I don't remember getting this many comments about how good my hair looks. I have been trying alot of the well known salons in Austin, but haven't found one that I wanted to return to or would recommend to people. This is the first time I have been to Salon Sovay, but I will definately go back. Sovay took her time and did an outstanding job. I recently got married in Austin and had Erica do my hair as well as my bridesmaids. She did a wonderful job. I could not have asked for anything better. Her work was very classic but it still had a very modern look to it. She really listened to want I wanted my hair to look like and translated that perfectly. We choose for her to come to my hotel suite and did our hair there. She was very professional and sweet. Her prices are reasonable and her work was so beautiful! I got so many complements! I live in Houston and did not want to pay to have someone from Houston travel so I found her on this website. It was a gamble that totally paid off!!

I have been trusting my hair to Charlie Hodges for 4 years and I will follow him anywhere! I know Charlie is the best because I always, without fail, feel lovely and confident for weeks after each cut. When I met Charlie, I had very long hair that I was sheepish about trimming because it was my trade mark look. I was also 24 and quickly aging out of this "style" that I'd had since high school. Since then, Charlie has carefully guided me out of my one look box and truly helped me move forward with more style and confidence. Now, that's quite a hair cut! He also gives a hell of a scalp massage. Just this morning, I brushed my hair, (which hasn't been cut in almost 2 months) and without drying, styling or products, it looks great and that is a testament of Charlie's impeccable layering and overall talent. Yes, I'm inspired by my 2 month old cut and I'm telling the world!

Salon Sovay is by far the cutest and most comfortable salon I've ever been to, and Sovay is AMAZING with hair! If I ever have to leave Austin for any reason, I can definitely see myself coming back just to have Sovay do my cut/highlights. In a former life, Charlie was a graphic design artist. As a premier cut and color stylist, that talent comes to the fore and then some. Charlie combines an outstanding artistic talent with something that matters just as much -- he cares about you as a person and will not be satisfied unless you leave him feeling gorgeous and renewed! His private space at Salon Sovay is cozy and relaxing -- no sitting on display in a room filled with other clients while you go through your metamorphosis! P.S. -- Before I moved to Austin I had the same stylist for 15 years (he got me through the teenage years, attended my wedding, and saw me into motherhood) and despaired of ever finding anyone to compare. I despair no more. Charlie is a true gem!

Despite not giving very good direction or guidance to my stylists, I am still very particular about my color/highlights and can honestly say that Sovay does an excellent job for me. I absolutely love my color and cuts and would definitely rate her among the best in the city. Her salon is fun and comfortable, and I enjoy the entire salon experience.

I just recently moved back to Austin after living in LA for 6 years and loving my stylist in LA. I was very concerned that I would not find a stylist who would match up. But I got lucky and found Salon Sovay. Sovay is an amazing stylist. She took the time to get to know me, and the cut and color turned out amazing. She also really takes the time to make sure it is done correctly. You will definitely leave satisfied. I can't imagine going to another stylist in Austin.

I found out about Salon Sovay while searching the Internet for a place in South Austin where I could get my hair cut. After my first visit with Savoy I was hooked. She was so kind, genuine and knowledgeable and the hair cut she gave me was the one I had been looking for, it made me feel beautiful! I always had a hard time finding that just right hair dresser who was talented and down to earth and she is it; she just made me feel so good about myself and she really delivered a fantastic hair cut and style. She is very passionate about her work. She will go to great lengths to make sure you are happy with the results. I recommend her to all of my friends. My recommendations go to Charlie at Sovay. Charlie is friendly, professional, and dedicated to his clients, not to mention extremely good with cuts and colors. Both my husband and I go to Charlie and he is great with women's and men's haircuts. I've always respected the fact that he is honest when it comes to your hair and money :) If you're looking for something new, or just want to stick to a good style, he's the one that can do it best.

Salon Sovay is a cute, welcoming salon in South Austin. I love the artwork and ambience. Brook Boales is my stylist and has been for years. She always cuts the way I want it and offers great ideas for color. I look forward to relaxing and being treated very well when I come to the salon. I highly recommend Brooke for hair and waxing!

I followed my stylist, Charlie, to Salon Sovay and I couldn't be happier. Besides seeing my favorite stylist in Austin who's great at highlighting, coloring and cutting my curly hair, I get to go to this quaint location on S. 1st; it's set up in a little house and is always clean and polished. Charlie's great, always fun to chat with and is ready with a glass of wine for me. He's also very honest on what will work, what won't work, and what I should try out if I'm feeling saucy. Keep up the good work Charlie!

After a long debate I decided I wanted to get my eyelashes permed. I found Salon Sovay through CitySearch and was very impressed with all the great reviews. I decided to give them a call. I called and left a message at Salon Sovay...and you know what?...I got a call back. Sovay hersefl called me back and we talked about the eyelash perms. She was soo super nice and very detailed on the process. So there were no surprises when I went to get them done. I was/am thrilled with them. I have super straight lashes that never took curl using the eyelash curler crimpers....but with the perm they were curled without having to do anything! The perm is to last anywhere from 1-3 months time depending on how they are handled. I'm at about 2 months now and they still have a curl! My mom wants to get it done too! So for eyelash perms or for stylists who really care and listen I would recommend Salon Sovay.

I've been in Austin for 10 years and have gone to a number of good stylists at some of the best salons in town, but had yet to find one I just loved until I went to Charlie. He is killer with blond color and has given me a variety of cuts that work best for my hair type and face. As an added bonus, he's great to chat with over a glass of wine, which makes the time fly.

I have recently moved from Houston to Austin and was worried I wouldn't find someone to highlight my hair like I like it (very natural like a dirty blonde color). Since going to Sovay and having her do my highlights, I have never received so many compliments by people I see everyday and people I haven't seen in months.

After my regular stylist left the salon I was worried about who would be cutting my hair. I was referred to Brooke by a friend and after the first cut I have been a repeat customer. Im very picky about the way my hair is cut and Brooke does a wonderful job of shaping it the way I like. Give her a try, you won't be disappointed.

I first learned about Salon Sovay while searching the Internet for a place that performed eyelash extensions. I emailed the salon and received a reply THAT DAY from the OWNER, Sovay; I was already impressed. I stopped by after work and she looked at my eyelashes to see if extensions would work. You see, I have been pulling out my eyelashes for MANY MANY years and had just recently decided enough was enough and I needed to stop. The eyelashes were just starting to grow out and she didn't have a whole lot to work with. She was so kind, genuine and sincere. I had always felt like such a freak and that my lack of eyelashes was the first thing people noticed. She assured me it wasn't; she just made me feel so good about myself and that there was hope. I returned a few days later and she applied the extensions and I returned every few weeks for maintenance visits until my lashes were grown out. I am happy to say I am cured of pulling out my eyelashes. They are so beautiful now!!!! I return to Sovay for eyelash tints and next time she is going to do an eyelash perm. She is very passionate about her work. She will go to great lengths to make sure you are happy with the results. I wouldn't have eyelashes today if it weren't for her. She was a great support for me throughout the process and I can't thank her enough for all she did for me and continues to do. Thank you Sovay for making me feel good about myself.

I just moved to Austin, and a friend of mine recommended that I go to Brooke at Salon Sovay to get my hair cut. It was the best hair cut I have gotten in my life! She took her time and was very considerate of what I wanted. I went to work right after my new hair cut, and not only did my co-workers comment on how good it looked, but complete strangers did too! I definitely recommend going to Brooke if you want a great cut and style.

I have been getting my hair cut and styled by Heather for three years now and she is the ONLY person I will let touch my hair with a pair of clippers. No matter what condition my hair is in when I go in, or what ideas I have about cut, she always does an excellent job. Even if I can't decide what I want, her expert opinion has consistently steered me in the right direction and I have never been dissatisfied with any of her work. I always leave feeling great and my hair keeps its style for months! Heather guarantees her cuts for up to a week afterward if you want anything changed, but I have never had to take advantage because she gets it right every time. If you're nervous about chopping off a large chunk of hair, or if you just need a few layers, go to Heather and you will not be disappointed!
