Naturally, we didn't need to acquire more "stuff," so she worked totally with what we had. It's amazing what a fresh perspective can do. And just having my things arranged by someone else has made me notice and enjoy them that much more. She offers a very valuable service for an incredible price. Griffin Interior Makeovers has been the best experience I have had with an interior designer. Jan renewed my faith in trusting interior designers, she completed what she said she would do. She was professional, friendly and has a great "eye' for what will make a room POP!. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a interior designer and she is reasonably priced...no hidden charges...that's an added bonus!

We've never used a designer before, and I was hesitant about hiring one, but Jan did a fantastic job. She helped us choose paint colors after we struggled for days on our own...and she did a GREAT job. We are 100% satisfied with the results and with her prices and plan on using her again when it's time to select furniture and accessories.

When I called Jan I was at my wits end. (With small children, that's not far to go!) For some time, I had been struggling to make my downstairs work for my kids and for adults. I'd been through the design wars ($$) and was still not satisfied with the look or function of my home. Then, I happened upon Jan's information in Citysearch....how fortunate for us! :)

Within the span of one short day, Jan created a beautiful and functional downstairs for our family. All with our own furniture!! Amazing!! I saw my furniture combined in ways that I never imagined. It was incredible to watch it all unfold so quickly!!

Jan and her assistant are delightful! I highly recommend them both! They listened to my needs and preferences and then proceeded to create something beautiful and functional. I wish that I had started with Jan years ago!!! Can't wait to get started on the upstairs!!!

Like other reviewers, I was at first skeptical that our living areas could improve so dramatically, especially since I was having trouble identifying for Jan what I felt the room lacked. All I knew was that it didn't feel as "put together" as I wanted it to feel. Plus there were baby toys all over the place and a playpen to deal with. On the morning of the scheduled makeover I had a moment of doubt. Would all this effort simply amount to an expensive and useless rearrangement of knickknacks for which I would be later kicking myself? I mean, surely it would be too much to expect a made-for-TV moment where I'd walk in the door and be amazed. That afternoon I walked in the door -- and was amazed. I couldn't believe it.

Jan really does have a gift for taking things you already own and arranging them in fresh, attractive, and functional ways. Just about every piece of furniture we own came from a garage sale, thrift store, auction, or the classifieds. But nothing looks random anymore. It all looks purposeful and coordinated. Even the playpen no longer looks like an eyesore, and the baby toys are organized, yet accessible. I mean, it's true that for the fee I paid I could have bought a new piece of furniture. But honestly, the addition of yet another random piece, albeit new, would have done nothing to improve the room overall. Plus, with a new baby and a busy job, I'm not sure that I would ever have gotten around to figuring out how to pull it all together myself. We're just regular people with busy lives and modest incomes, but Jan's services were an investment that I'm glad we made. Now plan on budgeting for her to come help us with other areas of our house so that we can feel proud and relaxed to have friends and family over and really enjoy our home. It's worth it.

My wife and I were recently married and decided to treat ourselves to a room makeover. Our goal is to buy a new home in the next six to nine months but wanted to buy time to decide which neighborhood to live as well to save money for a down payment. This seemed like a perfect way to tide us over.

We have a large master bedroom that is an odd shape. We've tried every different furniture configuration, and the room either looks barren or lopsided. Jan did a terrific job at giving us a fresh perspective as well as a room that is perfect, truly a master retreat. The room is now very balanced, appears spacious, and uncluttered. It's amazing how the room has been transformed. The best part is that it was economical because she used our existing furniture and decorations (some of them borrowed from other parts of the house).

I would highly recommend Jan, and we have plans to bring her back to tackle the next room. I'm at work this morning and can't wait to go home to enjoy the new bedroom.

After 12 years in our house, we definitely needed to paint, and I was eager for a new look. I called Jan, who helped me pick paint colors, and after the painters left did a "makeover" of our great room. And boy, is it a great room now! I had tried (I thought) every possible furniture arrangement during our 12 years here, but in a couple of hours Jan had found a new arrangement which looks fantastic. She was able to accomplish the three goals of the room, which had seemed incompatible to me: emphasize our views, create a comfortable conversation area, and incorporate my husband's new big screen TV. Our room has never looked better, not even when the house was brand new. Every day I take pleasure in the new look, and I can't wait to have Jan come back to help me with another room.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Jan for several years, not to mention having the pleasure of her expertise on my living room (twice) and my daughter's bedroom. Jan is wonderful to work with, has immaculate taste and is so creative. Everyone that walks into my home always compliments on how great my home looks. I don't have much furniture or accessories to work with, but it just goes to show Jan can make a home out of a wooden or cardboard box.
I strongly suggest you call her when you are ready for a beautiful new change in your home decoration.

We had the honor of providing Jan with furnishings for a vacant showhome that she was decorating. Time was tight, and the expectations were high. Jan remained calm, upbeat, and focused throughout the whole project--even coming in on a weekend to meet the deadline!! Jan is truly a creative professional who can see the potential in a room--even before there is anything there! For this project, she took a bland, builder-beige house and transformed it into a warm, inviting space that will probably sell within days of it's unveiling on the house tour.

We look forward to partnering with Jan again on many future projects!

I walk in my front door and can't believe I live here (and I've lived here six years)! I needed some new furniture and Jan helped me figure out sizes, then worked with my purchases to make a totally new room. She used my things, plus she shopped, at my request, for new items. I can't believe how different the room looked in just a day! Jan was professional and always on time, plus she was responsive and communicated well.

Jan Griffin did a phenomenal job for my clients who recently sold their home. She took their personal items, added a few special touches of her own, and miraculously made a somewhat nonremarkable setting into one that exuded warmth, character and a sense of style. When we discovered that Jan Griffin was coming into our home to do a living room makeover, our expectations were not particularly high. We felt there were very few options for changing the room. Man, were we wrong! Jan transformed our ho-hum living room into a room that now gets rave reviews. Thank you, Jan, for bringing a sense of excitement into our home. After living with my ?new? living room and library arrangements for the last two days I really wished I had called you sooner. The rooms are so delightful and comfortable. One of the things I really appreciate is the use of my ?things?. Things I already owned and had placed around the house in no sense of order, just stuff I?ve collected and loved for years. I like it all! I especially enjoy the groups over the mantel and TV cabinet. I would-could never have thought of those! Jan, you are creative and clever, as well as thoughtful about how I lived and my lifestyle. Thanks again for making my new home even more dear to me.

After six years in our home, we were stumped with what to do with our family room. It was comfortable enough, with the furniture all symmetrically placed against the walls around the room for easy TV viewing and the afghans neatly folded over the sofa back. It just lacked character and warmth. We gave you no instructions, other than to make the room more ?livable?, and left the house in your hands. When we returned a few hours later, we found a room completely transformed, with the furniture rearranged in a cozy and inviting fashion with various knick-knacks gathered from around the house accenting the new decor perfectly. You even found a way to segregate the computer from the television so that each had it?s own special space. For two decoration idea-challenged conservative people, we were amazed. Jan, you really captured the essence of what we wanted in a room.

We were skeptical that our family room could look different after seven years of fiddling around with our furniture. When I walked in to see the finished product after three hours, I was amazed! Our family room looks brand new, our furniture was placed in areas we didn?t think possible. We are so pleased and have had Jan and Cyndy back to makeover our game room.
