I used Merry Maids from April 2007 until August 2007. The very first cleaning the maids ripped a number of blinds, left them on the floor and broke the pull mechanism. They also broke my kitchen oven handle. The maids are not careful and try to finish as fast as possible, resulting in broken items. The items were repaired but took two months to complete.
After that, I noticed my bathroom floors were not getting mopped. I knew this beacuse I had dripped some shampoo on the bathroom floor, and the spots were still after they supposedly mopped. Also every corner of the floor had dirt and cobwebs in them. Another time they had checked off 'cabinets' on their cleaning list, but when I came home, there was cheese sauce smeared down the front of one, koolaid spills down another.
The last time Merry Maids cleaned my house they cleaned my ceiling fan. I always leave it on in the living room to circulate the air or heat. I have an open home design, so air distribution at this location in the house is vital. I never turn it off, period, even while on vacation. When I went home that day, the fan was off. I turned on the switch, but the fan did not move. On further inspection, I noticed the fan motor was still working, but the blades were stuck and did not turn freely.
When I told the owner Janice Johnston what happened, she said she would not repair it. The maids told her the fan was off when they came over. I am the last one to leave the house in the morning, so I know it was on.
Do not use this service if you value your household items! Bottom line is the maids were poor at cleaning and very rough with appliances and household items.
Pros: None
Cons: Expensive, broken items, bad cleaning
