Did you procure your wedding dress and decorations at Walmart and The Dollar Tree? Are you looking for a venue where your guests will feel comfortable wearing their confederate flag/bald eagle tank tops with bbq and armpit stains and their hunter-orange camo shorts? Do you mind having at least seven of the 4,289 extra-large ??NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED? signs in the background of every one of your wedding photos? Do you prefer restroom stalls to be carpeted and the walls to be graced with your Great-Grandmother??s wallpaper and Jesus prayers in magnificent, plastic, golden frames? Do you think neon-colored, fake-silk flowers are just gorgeous? Do you love the taste and quality of Safeway??s sheet cakes? Would you find a ??Groom??s Room? with the dimensions of 14 inches wide by 35 inches long to be perfectly adequate? Well, if you answered yes to the above questions, you just found the perfect wedding venue for you at The Hostess House!! Congratulations!

Our Wedding was two days after their big fire that happened on September 17. As a bride that??s one of the worst things that could happen. Julie called me and advised me of the situation and was working on an alternative place to have our wedding. Much to our, family, and friends surprise the venue was changed to the downtown Vancouver Hilton. When we got there on the evening of 19th, everything exceeded our expectations. Julie and her staff did an amazing job they were warm, caring, a delight to work with. I can not say it enough THANK YOU.

We had gotten the Hostess House's card from the Portland Bridal show in 09. When my mother and I when to there, the people were very nice and answered our questions promptly. The lady was new that was helping me pick out dress's along with fitting but she did her job like a professional. I found the dress that i loved, everything was great we even got a rose as a thank you for coming their. However after waiting almost 12 weeks for my dress, I called and asked if it was in yet. The lady lied to me on the phone and said it wasnt in and then called my mom the very next day and said " we have her dress," BUT, "it the worng one!" My dress is still on order, the came correct and ordered the supposed to be right dress. My self and my mother are having our worries about if they ordered the right dress or not. I would have given them 5 stars but after ordering the wrong dress I dont think i would really recommend them. The service was good, but they ordered the WRONG dress!!!

I recently was married here at The Hostess House, and it was the most pleasant and professional experience! This was a first wedding for both families, so there was a lot of questions and confusion when getting started. Once we sat down with the incrediable staff, we were reassured. They took care of every little detail, some of which I didn't even care about. The day of the actual event was well beyond my expectations! Everything flowed so well, and so smoothly. This staff really knows their stuff! The best part was the fact that The Hostess House does everything there; the cake, the flowers, the DJ, the officiant, the decorating and clean up, bridal appearal, even toasting flutes, cake toppers, ring bear pillows, and guest books. It truely was a "once stop wedding planning" place.

I had my renewal at the hostess house in 2006. I had no arguments then, so I took my son's girlfriend in to look at dresses. a young girl greeted us promptly without a smile on her face. I saw the lady who helped me in 2006 hoping she would help again, instead the younger girl did. Her questions were too personal, she made my son's girlfriend uncomfortable in the dressing room, She was rude and when she found out we had started 2 years earlier with our plans, she handed her off to me, as if I was the bridal gown consultant. I have never been treated so horrible, our price range was 700.00 to 1,000.00 and although that should not matter, I will be taking my business elsewere. The sad thing is my future daughter-in-law found the dress of her dreams. Too bad they could not capture the true meaning to customer service.

My sister had a lovely wedding at the Hostess House December 19th. The Hostess House saved us-- being the busy holiday season, our family was relieved that they took care of so much! All the beautiful decorations, the flowers were incredible and the florist pinned on our corsages and boutonnieres. The cake and food were scrumptious. The DJ was great, he took care of all the announcements and kept us dancing with a good variety of music. My sister said that was the best wedding she'd been too. She had so much fun! The full service package takes a lot of the stress away and the staff takes care of the work. I recommend the Hostess House for all your wedding needs.

My sister and I are both getting married and went to this shop for our wedding gowns, veils, and my bridesmaid dresses. It was a terrible experience for the following reasons:
-customer service was terrible (disorganized scheduling and paperwork, staff was rude, unwilling to fix problems)
-alterations were so bad that they could not be fixed, only made to look less bad.
-alterations person did not show up for appointment (at all or on time) and did not complete alterations on time
-ordered wrong jr. bridesmaid dress in the wrong size
-hidden and overpriced alteration fees
-mixed up names on bridesmaids' dresses and caused issues with alterations and had to order 1 new dress.

Recently I attended a wedding at this renue. It was set up wonderfully and the chapel was beautiful. The windows were a nice backdrop for the service. However, I do have several complaints that are serious enough that I would not recommend holding a wedding at this place unless strict guidelines can be made by the bridal party.

The wedding party, which I was a part of, arrived early to do some before hand pictures with the photographer. The brides room is right inside the door to the chapel. As the pictures were being taken, guest started to arrive and enter the chapel. They were able to see the bride before the service. There is no gathering place for guests who arrive early to go to prevent this clash. Our bride was very upset that she was seen by nearly all her guests prior to the wedding.

Furthermore, during the service the bottom windows were open to cool off the chapel area and there was what was described as the resident cat meowing during the entire service. This totally took away from the romantic ambiance that we were trying to create.

Finally, the reception felt rushed. There was plenty of time for the actual cake cutting and dancing however as the party was winding down another group was preparing for a rehearsal service and a second group was touring the facitilty during our event. It was in my opinion really bad taste. I recently televised wedding planning show once professed the motto...brides should feel special and should never run into another bride or prospective bride on their special day. I whole heartedly agree with that sentiment.

I think wonderful weddings COULD be held here but only with informed and advocate brides who ask the right questions and demand the right courtesies up front.
