.

This was a horrible experience for my family! I have a 3 month old, and we had a referral to see the dr. My baby had been screaming since 4 am, non stop. We finally got our nurse to approve us going. The nurse said that if we got there before 6pm, they would see us, and not to worry if we showed up at exactly 6, they would see us anyway. We showed up at 5:50pm, the doors were locked and they wouldn't see us after I knocked on the door and saw people in there. I went around the back and came in. I told them "I think I may be in the wrong area, but our nurse said you would see us if we got here at 6pm. The nurse assistant said they were closed. We told her it wasn??t 6pm. She said by their watch it was and they wouldn??t help us. I asked them "so you are turning us away?" she said yes. I told her that was illegal. She told us to go to ER. My husband who is normally a polite man had to give her a few choice words; I had left to go to ER because I wasn't playing that game. It seems no one wants to do their job anymore! I get so sick and tired of it! Well, after my husband left, a real nurse came running out and said they would see us. I don??t know why they decided to change their mind. Maybe it??s because we knew our civil rights and that what they were doing was illegal and I had a perfectly legal reason to file a complaint against them. Once the nurse saw us and checked us in (she was nice), we went to admissions where the lady was incompetent and rude. She had no idea what she was doing. She had our ID and Insurance card but kept asking for it. She gave us all the paperwork we needed to sign and looked frustrated when I tried to read it and figure out what I was signing. Then we finally got to see a dr. When we walked back there I saw an African American woman and her son... who seemed to have been sitting there for quite a bit, the poor woman looked as frustrated as I did. The nurse came into the room and was polite, yet ignored our complaints. The Dr. came in and listened to what we had to say, then found out my baby girl had a double ear infection. After we were given the prescriptions and shown the back door because they were now closed, I wondered if the other lady had been seen, and why they had not billed me.
