I use to work for Prestige about 3yrs. Ago yes he is very shady his wife accused me of liking her husband. I got calls everyday from angry customers I had to lie because he told me to and of course I did, because at the time I needed my job. Yes he is shady don't shop there he has nice things but it's not worth what he takes you thru.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM THEM. My wife and I are still waiting for part of out set after 3 MONTHS. They brought wrong or damaged chair to us 3 times.

I shopped there a few times- and their customer service is horrible. The manager is shady and just wants to make a sale- he's rude and doesn't care. once they have your money- they could care less about your furniture being shipped on time or if you're even getting it. I've had friends that have purchased furniture and they were suppose to deliver in 2 weeks, but they didn't receive it for 4 months- that's pathetic! I hate the people that work there- makes me sick!

First, look at the rest of the reviews.

Prestige has earned either incredibly bad ratings, as I am giving them, or super-glowing poster-child "THIS IS A GREAT COMPANY" reviews. I have to wonder if reviewers pmary, madhavi, or jackhr are real customers or some fake reviews to beef up the number of stars in the HelloMetro rating.

In any case, my wife and I purchased a 3-piece upholstered couch set from Prestige for $2,000.00. For about $250 more we also purchased an extended 5 year manufacturer's warranty. We thought that would cover us.

Boy, we were wrong.

The first time they delivered the couches, the main sofa had greasy hand prints on it-- they were so defined you could see each individual fingers-- so we refused it until it was either cleaned or replaced.

The second time they delivered the main sofa the left front leg was not screwed in properly and wobbled; an easy fix with a screwdriver, but makes one wonder about their quality control.

Plus to top it off, we had to wait about 5 weeks before the love seat arrived. It arrived without incident.

After 4 months the couches started to sag as if they were losing their stuffing. By the 5th month they looked really bad, and were uncomfortable to sit in. (Back in my college days I bought a $400 couch that lasted longer than this!)

My wife's initial inquiries to Prestige concerning local repairs was a weird cath-22 situation: Prestige responded that they could send a repairman out, but since it was Prestige's repairman any work done would invalidate out manufacturer's warranty.

When we asked Prestige about the extended warranty they said it was out of their hands and we needed to notify the manufacturer. We had no contact information-- we were not given any information at the time of sale on the warranty (EXCEPT for the fee.) After some finagling we finally got in touch with the manufacturer.

The manufacturer, located out in California, told us that the set was discontinued. To make matters worse, he had no information in regards to our "extended manufacturer's warranty." In other words, he had no idea what we were talking about and did not have a warranty program for us.

He did offer to call Alex, Prestige's ever-elusive owner, to ask about our situation.

It appears that Prestige has a lot of turnover in its billing office; during this time we've had to explain our situation (from scratch) to 3 different administrators. No one there had taken the initiative to contact us-- each time WE had to make the call to keep the ball rolling. No follow-through from this company whatsoever.

After about 3 months of phone calls we're finally getting a representative to come out and look at out couches. No word from Alex himself.

The question of the $250 extended warranty has not been answered. No idea what they are going to offer to resolve this issue.

At this point in the game, I can not recommend shopping at Prestige. In fact, I feel obligated to warn folks to stay away.

This is too much money and too much hassle to deal with terrible customer service over a faulty product with bogus warranty coverage. Look for bargains elsewhere.

Do not shop here. I purchased 2700.00 worth of furniture and when it was delivered they did not bring my chaise lounge that I had purchased. I paid 700.00 for it. They told me it was out of stock. I told them at that point that I didn't want the chaise anymore and to please refund my money. That was almost 3 weeks ago. I have made several calls to "Alex" the owner with no results. I see they used to have a store in Mesquite TX and someone else had a similar problem.
