I started seeing Mark in August '08 for pain associated with a stress fracture I developed in my right ankle after too aggressively trying to get back into my running routine. I walked into his office, fully booted to my knee. I had been told by my orthopedist to stay off my foot as much as possible, no extensive walking for at least six weeks. ABSOLUTELY no running for an undisclosed amount of time. I would need to wear the boot for at least one month.

I started seeing Mark twice a week for the pain, which was greatly reduced immediately. After a week and half I was able to remove the boot and walk without pain! By October I was running again.

The office staff is wonderful. Mark is professional and friendly. I recommend him to all of my friends. Thank you!

I had been experiencing knee pain for a few weeks until it became so bad that it affected my daily living and the pain progresesd to excruciating. I went to Mark for treatment for my knee and after a few sessions my knee was significantly better, to the point where I was again walking about town, etc. After even more sessions, my knee pain altogether disappeared without taking any medications that were being pushed by my MD. At my last session, I informed him of his bonus treatment...I found out I was pregnant! Thanks Mark.

After about a month of Physical Therapy pre surgery for hip joint problems (labral tears - left and right) I was told that I might want to give acupuncture a try to reduce symptoms of pain I was having.

I had only been to acupuncture a few times before - some guy in Chinatown who swore could cure every single ailment I had with MANY needles each time, and ended up charging me hundreds for additional herbs and creams. I didn't get much out of those sessions so I really wasn't expecting much from Mark, but BOY WAS I COMPLETELY WRONG.

After the first session, I was completely pain free for at least a day - as acupuncture is cumulative, the more I went the better I felt. This continued but sadly, I still needed surgery to repair my torn left labrum. When I continued to see Mark for post surgery pain and recovery I was absolutely amazed with the results. I didn't need crutches for more than a day and half following surgery and I only needed pain meds occassionally during the first week or so.

Now as I prepare for surgery for my right torn labrum tomorrow, I know exactly what to expect and plan to continue my treatments from Mark for faster recovery.

I highly recommend Mark for pre and post surgery pain and recovery. I am also a type 1 diabetic who typically heals very slowly and I am just amazed at how fast and well I've healed in just two weeks!

I would also like to mention that I greatly appreciate Ginny and her kindness in booking appointments on relatively short notice, and her helpful appointment reminders - she's a total sweetheart! This is overall a terrific practice that I have suggested to several people.

I had been a patient of Dr. Mark for about 12 weeks this summer and early Fall. My main problem was severe pain due to my flat foot which had been further aggravated by surgery (that in retrospect I should not have undergone).I decided to give acupuncture a shot after much persuasion from my wife. I did not believe it could do much. Slowly but surely I was being proved wrong by Dr Mark's treatment. I still don't believe how inserting a few needles at seemingly irrelevant points in my body (including my knees, stomach and palm) could ease a pain in the foot. But human body is so connected that it did! The relief I got was quite amazing session after session. Further between sessions the pain level did not go up again like it did when I used to go for Physical therapy. After about 12 sessions my pain has been reduced by about 60-70%. I could have done better had I not been hasty with my surgery and tried acupuncture even earlier. Anyway past is past. One more point I wish to make is with insurance. One thing that's more complicated than human body is the jargon and treatment codes of the insurance plans in the U.S :-). Turned out for me the sessions were not considered in-network. Filing out-of-network claims as we all know is a pain. But Dr Mark and his secretary were so diligent with their paperwork and following up with my insurance folks that I had no problem getting reimbursed. In fact effectively it came down to as if it was in network. Point I wish to make is -- if you are worried about insurance, don't be. These people know how to deal with it just as they know how to accomplish pain reduction in a safe, healthy and irreversible way.Good luck!--Mani

I have been a patient at Tree of Life Acupuncture for almost six months and have seen a dramatic improvement in my depression and low energy. I have been able to reduce my prescription medications with permission from my doctor and have had no adverse affects.

After suffering with these conditions for over a decade, it is hard to describe the euphoria of finally emerging from this mental cloud or fog. I am functioning much better and feeling a whole lot happier. The office and staff are awesome and have created a wonderful, serene place of healing.

Of all the acupuncturists I tried in New York, Mark's acupuncture style of a few needles produces best results. They take my insurance, location and service is great too. I have been coming here for years and recommend Mark's acupuncture to all my friends.

Hi Mark,

First of all, I wanna apologize for taking so long to tell you that my daughter was born on October 2007, weighting almost 3 pounds, and very, very healthy (today we went to the pediatrician, she is almost 20 pounds now).

Mark, I don't have time to do the dishes... My husband is very helpful, but he is in busy season now, working almost 12 hours per day... A baby is a loooooooooooooooooooooooot of work, especially if you breastfeed, and do everything by yourself is a 24/7 job. NY isn't a baby friendly city...

Dr. Lieu was fantastic! We tried as much as we could, but natural birth wasn't possible. The baby was on position, but I didn't dilate (only 4cm, even with induction). She had to do a C-section, on a hurry, but everything was fine. She really is a great doctor. My recovery was fantastic. The first two months were absolutely surreal. My parents came from Brazil, but stayed only 10 days.

I can't thank you enough for that referral. By the way, I can't thank you enough for fixing me.
I feel like I have a debt of gratitude with you.
I tell everybody how acupuncture helped me to get pregnant, but, gosh, people are completely afraid of needles!

Mark, I wish you a great 2008!
And can't wait to take my lovely daughter to meet you.

Regards,
H.G.

Hi Mark,

This message is long long long overdue. I just wanted to let you know that I had a baby boy, Judah, on January 24th and he's beautiful (no bias from me!) and very healthy (picture attached). I would like to thank you so much for your wonderful care and help for over a year. I truly believe that the acupuncture sessions played a significant part in helping me to have a healthy child. As you know, with fertility treatments, it is difficult to measure progress on a week to week basis. But I must say, it was your great bedside manner and sincere dedication to helping me that made all the difference. It is rare to find a healthcare provider that invests as much time as you do into each persons case. It was your personalized care that kept me coming back and, in the end, it was all worth it.

So thank you Mark, a million times over, for everything. I hope you are doing well and business is good.

best regards,
Kathryn

I was diagnosed with temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), and was suffering through episodes for weeks of painful migraines. It prevented me from working because other symptoms, such as, neck, shoulders and sharp ear pain also risen. I was taking pain medicine which did not help, the pain persisted. Then I went to Tree of Life Acupuncture and after one session my pain level was reduced over 70%. I was given tips and advise on how to continue my treatment when I got home to reduce pain. By the end of the next day, the pain was gone. Therefore, I want to recommend Mark Moshchinsky??s accupuncture treatment to all, because his expertese, guidence and care saved me from extreme suffering.
With much appriciation and relief.

I went to Tree of Life in a lot of pain. I had a knee injury from running and it had kept me in bed and suffering for weeks. The doctor's had said that I had tendonitis and just to stay off it and take painkillers, which wasn't helping my condition. I had never tried acupuncture before but I was amazed by the results - after my first session I experienced such huge relief that I could walk home, something I was unable to do before. I can only say good things about Mark and what he does; he has a relaxed and patient style and put me at ease throughout the process. He also prescribed Chinese herbs to help my condition and I have made a steady recovery now after four visits.

I need to spread the words about Mark to people who have long been fighting nasty acne like myself! Very surprised and excited Chinese herbs work for me. I started having mild acne, both whiteheads and some with pus all over my forehead and both cheeks half a year ago. Tried everything from eating a healthier diet, using oil-free cleansers and make up to seeing dermatologists, taking antibiotics and using antibiotic cream but did not had much luck in getting rid of those annoying little guys or even just keeping them in control! I thought that was it and I was stuck with bad skin forever after (I was a little depressed about it honestly?) until Mark came into rescue!

Mark prescribed me some traditional Chinese herbs - basically a bunch of weird looking stuff in a few brown paper bags that do not have the nicest aromas both in smell and in taste. But who cares if it works! AND IT REALLY WORKED! I was told to boil the herbs with a few cups of water and drink them twice a day. After the 1st night, my acne looked less red. I thought it was pure luck. After the 2nd night, some acne actually faded away and after a week, those pimples with pus became flat and the whiteheads are a lot less red. In addition to that, I also use jojoba oil and now my face is clear and has a natural glow! My next step is to try acupuncture and hopefully it will help preventing my acne from coming back! Thanks, Mark! By the way, his assistant was real nice. I called at least 3 times to ask about how to boil the herbs to make sure I was getting it right. She was all the way very patient and clear! Thumbs up!

The acupuncturist is friendly. He talks quite a bit though. Also, one plus point is he takes my insurance. The treatments work and the cost that I have to pay is affordable.

Before I tried Acupuncture, I was skeptical about it because I didn't really believe that it could actually help me. When I first tried the treatment for my constant abdominal pains I felt great that very first time after I left the office. Acupuncture helped me to become more energetic and I feel less pain I started to believe that i could actually be cured without consuming any medications. I am recommending Mark as a acupuncture's for people out there who are skeptical about acupuncture treatment because it really does help treat any pain a person encounters in their lives naturally. Thanks mark, you gave me the belief that medications is not the only option a person has to be cured.

I would recommend Mark to anyone who has neck and shoulder pain. I knew I needed help when I could barely move when I woke up one morning. Mark made that go away after several treatments. He also took time to listen to me and gave me a treatment plan during the first visit to follow, which I like and appreciate.

I was in such PMS pains on my way to my Acupuncture appointment see Mark, that I was thinking of going to the emergency room. I was dizzy, in pain and nauseous. After 3-5 minutes after fist needle, most of my pains were so much better. Then the nauseousness was gone too. After only one treatment I was able to go out a few hours latter. I'm so grateful.
