Would not go back again!!! Arrival Sunday 2/17/13 3:45 (check-in @ 4 pm) Parking lot so packed hardly no place to park. We had to drive around to find a spot and parked very far from entry of hotel. This is due to the MANY outside public who use the waterpark as well. The hotel does not reserve parking for staying customers. Although the rooms were nice they are overpriced compared to competitive places that offer much more. (we stayed in the Bunk Suite), our overall stay was less then pleasurable.
We booked our reservation several weeks advance. Called to place the reservation, booking TWO rooms we requested them be next to or across the hall from another. The booking agent over the phone told me she did not see it being a problem and would put the request in. At check-in one room ready, one room not. Came back after we ate at the Tree House Cafe, (food bad. Drinks bad.) Second room was 6 down across the hall from our first room, they did not accommodate for us and did not care that we were a bit upset. Pretty much gave us the oh well attitude.
Overall the hotel room was loud, walls paper thin. In our room it sounded like thunder when people above walked the halls or moved around their rooms, our room even shook at times. The waterpark was small and crowded and the water was very, very cold. Food was aweful, and menu very limited.
Very disappointed, will NOT return.

I took my kids to Splash Universe yesterday and while the kids had a great time, I can say I will not return. The water-park itself isn't bad, but I wouldn't trust the lifeguard staff as they seem to only hire minors who are improperly trained. The biggest problem however was when we went to eat at the "Treehouse Pub and Grub" (the resorts only restaurant). While there I overheard one of the workers talking with some of the drinking customers at the bar. The main topic seemed to be the workers drug habits. He explained to the customers that he had been to jail twice for drugs in the past, and how he really doesn't care, he still continues to do them. This was happening within earshot of my children. He even shared a story about how he had been injured on the job within the last year and had to take a drug test for workmans comp, and failed that, and that his manager at the time helped cover it up for him. I had had enough of this talk around my kids, and asked my server to talk to the manager, at which point I was told that the manager was this guy talking about drugs (his name is "Buddy"). It was a large disappointment to find out this resort made for kids, would employ drug abusers to work around my children, let alone give them some sort of management position. I won't give my money to a company that in-turn gives it to people supporting drug use. This is not a child friendly atmosphere, and as I said, I will not be returning.

AWESOME FAMILY fun!!! We didn't see one person fall. The customer service here and in the hotel is beyond top-notch. Awesome lifeguards that go through drills daily! The hotel was BEAUTIFUL with a cabin flavor. We have already planned our next visit!!

OUR VISIT WAS AFTER THE RE-OPEN FROM THE TORNADO

Floor is SUPER slippery!!!! My kids all fell, I fell, I saw tons of other people fall - unbelievable slippery - I CANNOT believe they just rennovated and didn't put a better floor in!! Hopefully it doesn't take someone getting seriously hurt before they decide to do something different!!!

Completely unorganized. Wristbands are a joke - there were tons of people with no armbands at all, or the wrong ones, no one seemed to care.

Hotel was just okay - old tv and the armoire that the tv was in was ready to fall apart. It was raining outside and water was pouring into our room - we called maintenance (the man stunk so bad like smoke when he left his smell lingered) who came up and threw one of our bath towels on it and left. No other concern from management at all. When I went back downstairs to let them know the heating/air unit had obviously gotten wet and was turning itself on and off and smelled like it was buring, they didn't seem to care. She wrote my room number on a piece of paper and that was it. My husband unplugged it so that the place didn't catch fire before we could get out of there. Breakfast was a disappointment. By the time we got there at 9:00am, there was absoutely NO food. There were at least 6 employees running around filling plates and cups, yet there was no food or drinks at all!! We ended up going out to eat.

Arcade looked fun. Looked like a really fun place to have a birthday party. The kids had a ton of fun in the water. We would bring the kids back to the waterpark, but not without rubbersoled watershoes.

My family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort / Splash Universe next to Cabella's in Dundee, Mi. And Not only was it Very reasonably priced hotel accomodations included, it was clean and Safe. The Life guards on staff were friendly and played with the kids, and the snack shack food servers were courteous and generous. The restrooms and changing rooms were clean, and comfortable. The resort provided towels and Life Jackets for the smaller children. There was a life guard posted every ten to fifteen feet, and at the ends of each slide. The height requirements for the bigger slides has been set at 36 inches high. They also provide double inner tubes for the smaller riders, So every one can enjoy themselves. For a family of five, on a holiday weekend we spent less then 150.00 (not including food) On a one night two day stay at the hotel and resort. The room provided a dvd player, coffee pot, large T.V. and extra ammenities. They also offer a free breakfast. We had a Great time, and highly reccomend it to other families.
