I have visited Goodwill several times in the last year. As a resident of Sullivan County, NY where very few options are available for biblical-based teaching and worship, myself and my husband found the order of worship, and teaching, phenomenally refreshing and inspirational. Although I do not believe that the church experience should be all about "what you can get out of it",...we left the serrvice "filled" with the presence of God. Pastor Torres was gracious to us and we encouraged him from our viewpoint to continue his wonderful ministry. We hope to visit again and look forward to their church hosting the upcoming concert....We love your church, your warm welcome and no matter what seems to be happening there.....just love one another.

This is a great church. I have been going here with my wife and kids for the past few years. Pastor John is a great senior pastor. The services inspire me to be a better person, and are all very bible based. Pastor Josh leads the worship team in song, and that is always very good. I would say that the church has learned over the past years how to be a better church. Pastor Josh always leads the worship team, Pastor John almost always does the preaching, Pastor Jay leads the church in Prayer, and Pastor Jose prays for people after church and greets them. They have programs during the week and great breakfasts on the weekends. I am very happy with the church. If you are new to the area or looking for a new church I would recommend that you check it out.

To all those haters
I've been going to goodwill for almost 3 years to the date
And all the thing s you people have said i believe are completely false. Youth is a huge priority in this church! Almost half the time the church is ever even open its filled with all the youth.
The sound system is new, and i dont know any better but i think its pretty good. One of the pastors who leads worship also happens to be the youth pastor. All the ministries are awesome and the people there are all nice genuinely caring people. If you give off the vibe that you dont wantto be bothered people wont bother you. My kids love it there my husband loves it. I love it there and im so grateful for all the people and teachings there.

One final comment on one of the pasters Jay lee.
GHe is a good man. and even though i haven't exchanged all that much dialogue with this particular pastor, this man lives by what he preaches. No church will ever be perfect, but Goodwill is most certainly a good start.
God bless

We have been attending church for our entire life and have found many places to worship over the years. After bouncing around from church to church for what seemed a life time we landed at Goodwill Church about five years ago and have never been the same. The kids programs there are so amazing and bountiful. Each year my children look forward to the Vacation Bible School that is offered. They are eager to invite as many friends as they can because they know that their friends will have an extraordinary experience which will carry into their adult lives and help them to have an aweaome relationship with christ. The members and regular attendees of Goodwill are enthusiastic about meeting and retaining relationships outside of the walls of the new facility. We have many important friendships with others away from the new building where we share our individual experiences with christ- which by the way it is written where 2 or more are gathered to share christs teaching we are worshipping . We cant remember the last time the gospel was shared from such and enlightened point of view- the Bible. Pastor John Torres is truly and annointed man whose purpose as sheppard is to lead his flock, and i can attest the we are lead according to the truth. He always seems to bring the bible to life and speak directly to us each and every service. The entire pastoral and worship team; although new and relatively in experienced are following the path that God has set before them and are doing it quite well. Rome was not built in a day and neither is a senior pastor. we are eager to see the Lord work in each of their lives and bring them to fufill the purpose he has set before them. We would encourage that if you are looking for a place where the worship and message are directly aligned with what christ has called us to follow- that you give Goodwill a chance to make an impression in your life. Remember if you seem to have a a lot of reasons that Goodwill Church is not for you, than maybe its that you are finding many excuses that God is not right for you. The church is not the building but rather the people inside triying to give their all for christ as he did for us. Join us for a sunday service and i promise you will feel the Holy Spirit alive in this place. Goodwill Church is not just a place to worship, but rather a new way to experience life; the way God wanted us to- through his son Jesus Christ. God bless you all.

The shine of the new facility is a great venue for the show, visit once or 1000 times, you will get the same song and dance from the worship leader, the same childlike and often baffonish preaching from the pulpit and the disapproving glare from the 'executive' should you run, drink coffee, or find a parking spot! If you are perfectly happy in your spiritual life, don't want to grow or be challenged then you have found the right place! Not much is expected in terms of actual involvement, until there is an 'emergency need'.

1/2 inche deep and a mile wide. Keep looking!

As someone who has been coming to Goodwill on and off over the last few years (only due to me being in my twenties and having an itch to venture other areas) and whose parents have been faithful attenders - I have only GREAT things to say about Goodwill Church.

As far as the leadership, all I can say, is that it is to be expected that when any church or organization grows there will there is a huge learning curve for those leading to be able to transition into a new place. For any of the naysayers about the church - just read about what Moses and Paul had to go through when completing the work they had to.

But aside from the leaders (who are human by the way) - it is the Presence of God and the Holy Spirit that is felt every time I enter. All of this is dictated because of the Word of God being (as accurately as possible) being taught there so that Christ can bring His Truth into the hearts of men.

Let's remember that Jesus wasn't so popular, so if Goodwill has really bad reviews overall on the web, I guess that's to be expected when the Gospel is truly being preached.

If you really can't stand the building then just stay home and gripe I suppose.

It doesn't matter either way, and neither does this review. I just felt like writing this. So, I'm sorry if this hurts anyone personally, but quai sera, and se la vie...

Pastors are spoiled children. They have hurt people, some that have been there for many years. They have temper tantrums if someone disagrees and will throw people out when they disagree. Good preaching by Pastor John but does not live the life a preacher should.

Visited Goodwill a few times. People were friendly - but mostly to each other. We felt a little out of place as visitors. Music was good, but way too many people up there with mics who shouldn't be. The preaching was kid friendly, but wasn't as deep or Christ centered as I'd hoped. Felt a little 'seeker sensitive' to me. New building is beautiful on the outside, but feels cold and showy on the inside. A lot of people attending here who came from other churches. From the other reviews, it appears there are leadership issues - but with so many in leadership, I imagine that is bound to happen.

Great church if your not hurting, sinning, or dying. Calvinist church for sure! Also too many internal issues. Pastors not on the same page and very inexpereienced. Pastor John is a good speaker though.

Pastors have impressive education/degrees with secular backgrounds and titles, but lack any extensive ministering experience. Not sure a church should just be JUST "safe, comfortable and fun" as no real dicipleship going on. As a newcommer I didnt' really know where to start to get involved. Great preaching just not the kind that challanges one to grow. Focus truly seems to be on building a big church without any real deep investment in maturing believers. Lots of "programs" but they are not well managed-some are non-existant. Not very organinzed. Programs for men are great. Very easy to come and go without anyone noticing. New building is impressive on the outside but felt overall shallow on the inside. A lot of "show" although audio sound is not good. Although, I have no problem parking my car at the mall, they have a lot of parking attendants- probably because there is not enough parking which is really strange. There are 4 pastors on staff but none are a youth pastor and youth don't appear to be a priority, Not sure they know where the church is going overall and sensed some turmoil within. Personally I think church lacks strong leadership and harmony probably because of its fast growth.

This was a great church with Jordon and Pastor John Torres. Then they added Pastor Jay Lee; who on a personal level has had made many sarcastic comments that has left my wife and I speechless on many occasions.

I hate to be that guy on the internet making a negative comment about any of God's people, but really I don't think anyone listens to the members here. I've spoken with MANY members of this church who have been members for a VERY long time who agree with me on this point.

I could go into more details, but I don't think it'd be fair to leave info here. Anyway - I'll be checking out other churches in the area. Wish these guys all the best in the years to come.

Very good music.
Presentation slightly 'seeker friendly'.
Lacking biblical exegesis.
Low commitment demands.
Geographical spread of adherents very wide.
