Everyone here is really nice, they have yummy food, and can't beat their bloody marys. I found them here when I did a search and so glad I did! Give them a call to get in, there are groups of friends, and families here as well. In the entire aberdeen, not even just westport area I bet you can't find better crab cakes. YUM!!!

We had a great experience here, on a package deal with the Islander hotel. After a fun day of exploring the beaches, we stopped in for their crab cakes and sat in the lounge at a table overlooking the marina. I have actually had the crab cakes at Bite of Seattle and thought they were great (although I am a sucker for fresh crabmeat) and I wasn't disappointed when I got them here. The sweet server sold us on adding crab to our chowder, which was spendy, but really good. To be honest, fresh crab mixed with creamy chowder is pretty amazing (the chowder was Pike's Place Chowder good). Why didn't I think of that before? Service was very good, and the decor is surfer-beach-chic-meets-steakhouse but with buckets hanging from the roof everywhere. The manager(?) did mention they were replacing their roof this spring and the buckets would be going away and she seemed pretty giddy about it. Love that they serve their martini's with the shaker on the side.

The service is absolutely terrible. Young waitresses looking down their nose at you with the vibe that you are completely resented, though through their teeth, "Can I help you?" It was almost 90 degrees and they couldnt keep their kegs refrigerated. When I asked for a beer the way I was snapped at you'd think it was my fault. The funny thing is Im local, born and raised. Ive been coming to Westport to fish since the 60's. What right did they have to treat my wife and I so poorly. The food, I thought, was overpiced for its quality.

We walked into the bar at the Half Moon Bay for a beer and some appetizers around 3:30 on Valentine's Day, where we sat down by the window. We were immediately ushered out because they had dinner reservations in the bar starting at 4:00. We had to wait with 3 other couples, while they determined what seats were reserved. We got to sit at a tall table, while the other groups had to wait for a spot at the bar. We decided to order an appetizer of bacon wraps scallops, and an IPA. We got our beers pretty fast but it took about 30 mins to get our scallops. There were only 3 medium sized scallops, a few pieces of mesculn greens and sauce, for $16. The ones at Daniels Broiler are HUGE compared to these and theirs are only $12! After hearing them tell one too many bars patrons, they would have to move because they were sitting in reserved seating, we decided to leave, only to be told their computers were down. We had to wait 25 mins before my husband had to get up and ask the owner to hand tally our bill. One a good note, they do have good bloody marys! But it should be for $12.50!

My wife and I had a very nice afternoon at the Half Moon Bay Bar. The waiter kept telling us stupid but somewhat funny jokes. The food was good, the staff was terrific. They even toasted us for being married 15 years!

My husband and I dine here every time we go to Westport. The food is excellent and moderately priced. Recently though we heard that it was known for the best Blood Mary's in Washington. There is a reason they are known for that. It was the most flavorful bloody mary I have ever had. If you have never been to Westport or are planning to go I would highly reccomend this restaurant!!

We were recently in Westport for the Pirate Daze festival, to see the tall ships that were in Pirates of the Caribbean, and stopped into the Half Moon Bay Bar and grill because their sign said "Washington's best bloody mary", and I never turn down a bloody mary. Wow, what a shocker. I never realized that Westport had nice restaurants, but this was really a nice surprise. The bar is decorated surfer style and looks like it was transplanted right out of Southern California, complete with the beautiful people. I don't know who they were (a fireman's fishing trip, perhaps?).

Anyway, back to the restaurant. The bloody mary was a meal in and of itself, with a pepperoni stick, peppers, asparagus, and a really unique tasting bloody mary mix. We spent at least a half an hour trying to figure out what exactly was in it, and by that time, we'd ordered another.

Their lunch menu has some excellent twists on typical seafood fare. I had their jetty surf melt, which is like a fancy crab melt on a ciabatta bread, served crispy. Really rich, and probably too much food after 2 bloody mary's, but what the heck, I was at the beach. My husband had the burger, which was a bit over the top with bacon, ham and the burger, but tasty nonetheless. We didn't stick around for dinner, but did peek at the wine list, which was pretty impressive for this corner of the world.

I will definitely try to make it back here next time we're on the South Beach.

My family and I love to drive the coast, and for a long time, the only place to stop for a halfway decent dinner was the Quinault Beach Resort. However, this (newish) restaurant, which is kind of a hidden spot (from the outside, you think its going to be a dive) is actually a surfer themed bar and grill right on the end of the Westport Marina. We were there last weekend, while visiting Grayland for their annual Kite Festival (wow! worth a trip if you haven't ever seen a million people flying kites all at once), and were turned on to this restaurant by someone on the beach.

The menu is kind of typical american bar and grill fare, with a seafood slant. Their calamari was spicy, not like standard bar calamari, sprinkled with peppers. My husband had the prime rib special (not on the menu) and it was cooked just right. I had the salmon stuffed with crab, and although I typically don't eat such heavy cream sauces, it was really good.

They had a great dessert menu and wine list, but we did not partake. On a Saturday night, there was a wait, but the host told me that they take reservations, so when we're back for the art festival we will keep that in mind.

It's great if you're at the beach and looking for something other than the standard fish and chips and chowder (although their chowder was delicious!)

Pros: Nice decor, friendly staff, better than expected food

Cons: Busy, crowded
