Newbury Dental Associates

I thought that the Dentist that I had was fantastic at Newbury Dental in Boston. Dr. Jonathan Millen was so honest, and very compassionate about my situation. He made me feel very comfortable and at ease about getting an implant which I desperately needed after fracturing a tooth. Dr. Millen was extremely easy going and also had a great bed side manner which I feel is sometimes hard to find. I highly recommend him as a personal dentist to oversee your dental care. Also, Dr. Daher the, Oral Surgeon, who did the implant was impecable. He did a great job and knew exactly what to do. I would also recommend him to anyone in need of oral surgery, Go to Newbury Dental --- You will love the experience!!!!!

I have been going to Newbury Dental for a year. At my last cleaning, Dr. Millen noticed that I had a small cavity forming. I have had a few bad experiences with dentists in the past who have pressured me to have services, that I probably didn't require. Dr. Millen was very honest with me and stated that this cavity was probably something that I would need filled at some point, but that I could probably go a while safely with it before it needed a filling. I decided to go ahead and have it filled a few months later and Dr. Millen was wonderful. He definitely made sure that I was comfortable and explained to me exactly what he would be doing. He stopped several times throughout the process to check on me and make sure I was comfortable. I have also always had complications with fillings, where I have sensitivity in my teeth for a while, or they just feel uncomfortable for a while. Not this time, by that afternoon, I couldn't even tell anything had been done. Overall, this was one of the most pleasant experiences I have had at the dentist. Dr. Millen is very good at his job and I will definitely continue to go to him.

I didn't have a great experience here, and I won't go back.

I got xrays and then a cleaning in 2 separate visits. I got an appointment very quickly, and they never kept me waiting in the waiting room. The location is easy to find and the hygienists are nice, so for this simple stuff, it was OK.

When it came time for my oral surgery (2 wisdom teeth were impacted) I was not impressed. The doctor talked to me for under a minute and did not go over risks, etc. I had researched things on my own so I knew what to expect, but he was not doing his job because he was juggling me and 2 other patients at the same time. If hearing other procedures while you wait for yours freaks you out, go elsewhere, because this place is tiny and there is almost no privacy.

They forgot to write me the prescription for pain meds, sent me home, and when I came back 10 minutes later no one could find the doctor. They also lost my insurance information, claimed to have shredded it, and then miraculously found it again. I just don't have confidence in this place after seeing how disorganized and lax they are with my personal information and even my health. It's like the McDonald's version of a dentist- they just want to get you in and out and they neglect important details.

I have been a patient at Newbury Dental for 10 years. I have always received excellent care there. It's not like I love going to see the dentist, but I am always less anxious knowing that these people are going to do the job very well and be nice to me. I have nothing but good things to say about these people, and there is no procedure that I would not trust them to do on me.

I often cringe a bit when friends tell me they dread the dentist. I often tell them, "I love my dentist! Go see Dr. Millen."

Because of a childhood accident I have required an incredible amount of dental work for a 25-year-old and before meeting Dr. Millen and his staff I would have anxiety attacks before going to the dentist. My past experiences were painful physically and emotionally.

Technically Mr. Millen is flawless but his gentle hands, sensitivity to his patients feelings, and financial situations are what set him over the top in service and care. It is rare to find this kind of mindfulness in a dentist or doctor. His practice is actually inspiring to me and if he is not totally booked I would highly recommend his office. His referrals are excellent, his office is convenient, and he is someone you can trust.

If you are looking for a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Millen at Newbury Dental (a Branch of Gentle Dental). He is an outstanding dentist.

When I first starting going to see Dr. Millen about four years ago I was extremely scared of getting dental work done, and I had a mouth full of problems that needed to be addressed.

During my first appointment Dr. Millen took a thorough look at my mouth and explained each dental issue to me in detail. Knowing I had to take funds into consideration, he prioritized the issues based on their importance to the general health of my mouth. It could have been overwhelming, but he made the process less scary by explaining the need to address one issue at a time. He got his point across about the importance of getting my mouth healthy without freaking me out.

I remember feeling pretty nervous about my first several appointments because of my fear of the pain of dental work, but his gental technique and concern for my comfort level put me at ease and I was able to let go of my fear relatively quickly. Because he is good at what he does, the pain factor has always been minimal.

A lot of the work I had involved procedures that resulted in crowns. Dr. Millen makes excellent temporary crowns. He has an artistic ability to make a temporary crown look and feel real. Ive never had a dentist make such great temporary crowns before.

Over the years he has continued to narrow down my list of dental issues. I think I only have one minor issue left. I have been very happy with the way he has addressed each issue individually and has taken the time to make sure each problem has been taken care of completely before going on to the next. He has completely reversed my fear of dentists and dental work, and he has helped me understand the importance of keeping my mouth healthy. I appreciate it.

Dr. Millens assistant Sonia and the people who run the office are talented as well. They are friendly and happy to answer questions or explain details.

If you are looking for a good dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Millen and Newbury Dental (a branch of Gentle Dental) on Newbury Street in Boston.

Several yrs ago I stumbled upon Newbury Dental when I moved to the South End of Boston and was "blessed" to be assigned Jonathan Millen. Extractions, crowns, bridges, fillings have all been done without pain! He and his Latina assistant have created an atmosphere that is both professional and comforting. The icing on the cake is the great music that's played while he's working and you can never underestimate the great conversations on politics, the economy and the status of the world. Last but not least is Millen's great sense of humor. That alone is worth the price of admission. I have an uncle who's a dentist who did my dental work when I was a child and he has nothing on Millen. On a score from 1-5, he gets a 10! Highly recommended.

I have been going to Dr. Millen at Newbury Dental for several years and have found him and his staff to be excellent. Having had much dental work done by many dentists in the past, Dr Millen is by far the best. Besides correcting sub-par work done by other dentists, he performs work that does not produce any discomfort and has been effective. I have not had problems with my teeth since I have been going to Newbury Dental. I highly recommend them.

I recently moved to the Boston metro area, and I chose Newbury Dental Associates based on the reviews I had read on Dr. Rothstein, as well as his impressive credentials and experience. Needless to say, I could not be any happier with my choice. The office is conveniently located, and I was immediately impressed on my first visit with the friendliness of the staff. After meeting with Dr. Rothstein, I felt reassured with his honest diagnosis, and calming demeanor. During my procedure, Dr, Rothstein explained what he was doing each step of the way, and was attentive to how I was feeling. When I had to undergo a root canal, I feared the anxiety of past experiences, but Dr. Agha-Razi put me at ease, and performed the most pleasant, pain-free root canal I've ever had. It was the Rolls-Royce of root canals. Overall, a very pleasant experience, and I would not go anywhere else for dental work as long as I'm living in Boston.

Shortly after moving to Boston over 20 years ago, I cracked a tooth. Not having a dentist locally, I asked someone I worked with if he had any advice on where to go. He recommended Dr. Rothstein which turned out to be one of the best pieces of advise I have ever been given. Through the many dental disasters since then, it has been comforting to put myself in the hands of Dr Rothstein and the excellent staff at Newbury Dental. Dr Rothstein is someone you can talk to about your issues and be given honest advice about your options. For example, all my life I have had very poor front teeth and have agonized over what I should do about them. He was always patient with me and when I made up my mind that I needed to go ahead; he came up with a solution that has turned out fantastically well. For the first time in my life, I don't think about my teeth when I smile. I have and would recommend Dr. Rothstein to anyone knowing that they will not be disappointed.

There is a reason I have remained with Newbury Dental Associates even AFTER moving 60 miles outside of Boston. They represent all the superlatives you can think of including friendly, professional, calming. You experience it from the moment you walk up to the front desk and are greeted by the busy support staff. I have been a patient there for I-don't-know-how-many years now and, from cleanings to scrapings to extractions to implants/crowns,they receive my highest recommendation.

I have had extensive dental work throughout my life. About 10 years ago I stumbled upon Newbury Dental (Gentle Dental). I no longer dread going to the dentist since I know I am in good hands with Dr. Millen. He actually listens. He takes the time needed and handles you with care. He is professional, personable and thorough. I wouldn't dream of going to another dentist. I never thought I'd say this, but he makes going to the dentist a pleasant experience!

I have been a happy, satisfied patient at Newbury Dental Associates for 18 years. The staff is pleasant and goes out of their way to accommodate schedules and ease the insurance maze. Dr. Rothstein, his assistants, and the various dental specialists are extremely talented and, more than once, have repaired teeth that seemed impossible to save. And painless ! I highly recommend Newbury Dental Associates/Gentle Dental to everyone.
