.

I purchased carpet for my stairs from Carpeteria. They used my garage to lay out and cut the carpet. Three workers spent nearly 4 hours installing the carpet. I was present and aware the entire time though it was difficult to always keep track of all of them. I found one worker wondering around the other side of my house presumably ??looking for a bathroom??, even though there was a bathroom obviously right next to the stairs they were working on. However, shortly after they left, I discovered that my Ipod was missing. Since I had purposely placed it on the counter right before they arrived with the intent of using on my hike when they were finished, there is no other way to account for its disappearance then to assume it had been stolen by one of them. No other individual was in my house or my garage this entire day. After several attempts to talk with the supervisor, I was finally told that all the workers, of course, denied stealing anything from my home. Not only did the supervisor make no attempt to resolve the matter, but upon learning of the theft, he placed a mechanics lien on our property, further inflaming us as customers. We paid our balance in full to avoid being taken to court leaving us little option for recourse. This was a dismal and disheartening experience, one that we hope to protect other people from. There are plenty of carpet companies out there, ones who have quality products, competitive prices and reputable practices and who don??t hire criminals to do their labor.
