.

And was disappointed the former restaurant had been replaced, but I didn't mind trying a new Chinese restaurant, so we went ahead and went inside. The new atmosphere was nice, with the owner and his son wearing semi-traditional kung fu-like outfits, and new furniture and decor. The prices seemed a bit high, $9.95 for General's chicken, $6.95 for pork chow mein. We had to ask for water which was tepid with no ice and a lemon slice, and rather than delicious soup before our meal we were given a lettuce salad with some sort of peanut dressing. Our order came right away and I was deeply depressed that the General's chicken was not crispy, unlike I've ever seen it before, and was mixed with nasty water chestnuts and snow peas. The sauce was right, but without the deep fried goodness, it was just spicy chicken. The chow mein and chicken and vegetables were fine. I also noticed my water cup had crust on the sides, and my napkin smelled of grease and had crumbs on it, and the marble(?) table tops made loud clangs whenever plates or glasses clanged against them.
