Highly recommend this practice.
In 2004 I had been suffering from multiple sinus infections for months. My regular doctor had already recommended that I see an ENT. That ENT (NOT CENT) simply checked out my sinuses and explained that I "have young children" rather than any chronic medical problem. My regular doctor continued to treat each infection but was also convinced that something else was wrong. A friend recommended Dr. Heffron and he FIXED the issue. I have reflux without the heartburn. Instead, the reflux was leading to sinus problems over and over. Dr. Heffron started treatment and with that issue behind me, I have been symptom free for 5 years (as long as I'm diligent about the meds!).

My recent visit was for a tonsil infection that had been treated by 3 visits (and 2 antibiotics) to Urgent Care without resolution. I was in lots of pain when seeing Dr. Heffron this time and concerned that the infection was getting deeper and not reacting to the meds. He prescribed a better antibiotic in addition to steroids and I was feeling better within 24 hours! Simple steps that had not been taken! He listens and he knows his stuff! Highly recommend paying him a visit rather than stretching an illness out thinking it will just go away!

My son had his tonsils and adenoids out this past Friday. What a wonderful experience! Dr. Pugh was very caring. Everything from the Wake Med North Hospital to Dr. Pughs wonderful bedside manner was outstanding. Dr. Pugh even called us twice on Saturday to check on our son. The office staff was also very helpful and patient with us. I would highly recommend CENT to any family.

While I was waiting in the lobby with a friend who had an appointment, the office manager came out to talk to a patient regarding their bill. The person was obviously embarrassed and asked if there was somewhere their bill could be discussed in private. The office manager said no and preceded to talk in detail about this persons procedure and what was owed. This was definitely a HIPA violation! It makes me wonder how the rest of the practice is operated. I would never recommend this practice to anyone. If the office manager acts this way, it is a good reflection on the rest of the practice.

I was very disappointed with my experience at Carolina Ear, Nose & Throat, The ladies at the front desk seemed unorganized and more interested in chatting with others than helping me. While waiting in the exam room for the doctor could hear the nurses and doctors talking and laughing in the hallway about another patient, (which I found very unprofessional). When the doctor finally came in, a simple ear cleaning visit turned into trying to talk me into have a sinus ct scan. Checking out was another ordeal, mass confusion with my co-pay. The woman checking me out had me confused with another patient and kept trying to make me a return appointment when no return appointment was needed. I will not be recommended this practice to anyone.

I had an appointment earlier today with Dr. Heffron. Even though I was late for the appointment, the front office staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming. Dr. Heffron and his nurse, Nancy, were wonderfully professional and compassionate. Dr. Heffron explained what he was going to do and why. After his examination, my hearing was checked. His first statement to me following the hearing test was that I am not following in my grandfather's footsteps (My grandfather began losing his hearing at an early age, and his hearing loss speedily progressed as he aged.) That comment was reassuring to me in two ways, He had really listened when I told him of my concerns, and he cared enough to allay my fears. Dr. Heffron gave me a sample of a medication he wanted me to use. His nurse explained and demonstrated the correct way to use the medication. Although I have used this medication before for other problems, no one has ever taken the time to explain the correct usage. This time, I will use the medication correctly. I would highly recommend this practice!

Dr. Pugh did my sinus surgery in 06. I am a school teacher and had to see her many times over the past few years. They are always very prompt about seeing me and very kind and courteous. Dr. Pugh and her staff do a great job of diagnosing you and treating you properly with care and respect. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Had sinus surgery in 7/7/00. Prior to surgery I couldn't breath through my nose and had almost daily headaches. Was told that I had allergy induced asthma and even had to use asthma inhalers. I had surgery to open my airways and my "sinus drainage channels".
After surgery I went for allergy testing. Guess what? No allergies and no asthma. I was having trouble with my lungs because my nose was so blocked. Since having surgery I use a nasal antihistamine as needed for hay allergies. I'd do it again if I was told it was needed. Great results!

I can not say enought about the ambience of this practice and their doctors. Dr Heffron was expecially helpful to me. The results of my sinus surgery were excellent. They took the extra time to to adequately prepare me prior to my surgery. My post operative surgical package gave me all the information that I needed for an uneventful recovery. Post operative nasal cleanings were necessary and were covered under my insurance policy.I was never billed for a co-pay unless my insurance policy dictated one. I would highly recommend Dr Heffron toany of my family and friends if they have sinus problems.

I also used Dr. Heffron for sinus surgery in August '06 and had wonderful results. I was very pleased with him and his staff. I was charged a co-pay for each post-op visit. I was surprised, but there is no way he could know how many times I would need to see him post-op. In my case I needed extra post-op visits. It has been over a year since my surgery and my sinuses have not given me any problems...no sinus infections or head colds...yea!!! I highly recommend Dr. Heffron.

Dr. Timothy Heffron ---- I had sinus surgery with this doctor and his practice, 1st the surgery did nothing to help me with the situation that I was experiencing as promised, 2ndly I was told there would be no medical packing in my sinuses as I had a pervious bad experience with that and there ended up being packing in my sinuses!! 3rdly, Dr. Heffron charged a co-pay for every post-op appointment which is highly unethical!!!! Dr Heffron also billed for an emergency visit where I as in a lot of pain and bleeding and implied I was not telling the truth and did nothing to solve the issue. Dr. Heffron also billed the insurance and coded it as surgery everytime that I went for a post-op visit even if I saw him for 5 minutes and no procedure was ever done let alone surgery each time I visited him for a post-op visit!! Dr. Heffron and his practice are extremely unethical, billing for charges that are not valid, charging co-pays for post-op visits, saying I owe them a co-pay when I paid everytime and where never willing to go the extra mile to help. They got their surgery payment and went on their way. Stay AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
