Having known the owners for years, I was thrilled to learn they would be opening a home day care facility. Knowing her deep devotion to her own children, and the attentive care she provides to them, I knew that Kathleen would make a wonderful home-care provider. I leave my children there on as-needed basis, and couldn't be happier with their experience at Wee Friends. Kathleen expertly and intuitively assesses the children in her care and is extremely tuned in to their needs and how to meet them. She is thoughtful about utilizing her training in child development and how it applies to what is playing out with the children in her care. She excels at managing the complex needs of children of varying ages, from providing homework help to older children, guiding a toddler with gentle but effective discipline, or soothing a baby with soft words and a calming touch. She provides a fun, enriching environment with a wonderful balance of structured "learning" activities, outdoor play, storytelling and everything one would look for in an early childhood setting. Having been a mom who worked outside of the home herself, she knows the struggles working moms face and how that transition can be for a mom, and is a great source of empathy and support. My children love going to Wee Friends, and I never hesitate to leave my children there, knowing they will be in excellent hands.

The Wee Friends Daycare Center came highly recommended, and I felt like I had found the perfect place for my baby; however, things changed drastically once my child was there. After spending only one day at the daycare, I was told my 6 month-old was having a difficult time adjusting. According to the owners, my baby cried too much, and the other babies did not. As a parent, I think it is normal for babies to cry when they separate from their parents, and to expect that a child, who is in a new environment, will not cry the first few days, is simply insane. I believe when a person decides to open up a child-care business, then he/she should understand how to effectively operate it. Blaming a 6 month-old for one's own inadequacies does not make sense.
