I went to this children's consignment shop a few weeks ago while shopping in downtown Danville. It was the singlehanded worst shopping experience of my life. The rude customer service began when the owner of the store (Linda Sterling) walked over to where my daughter and I were looking at books and hovered over us barefoot staring... She finally looked down at me and said "your daughter's shoes (crocs that she was wearing) are at least 3 1/2 sizes too big." I said they fit her fine, and she is comfortable and likes them. She continued to repeat herself rudely saying how my daughters shoes were too big for her. I ignored her and continued looking at the books. The owner continued to hover over us and asked where I got my daughter's Cal cheerleading outfit and matching bows. I told her Berkeley and she continued to stand over us.
As I was standing at the register preparing to pay for the books my daughter wanted the owner once again came up and approached me while I was being rung up. She asked if my daughter was going to get the stuffed toys she had in her hands. I said no she is just holding them, we are putting those back. The owner then said that my daughter needed to put the toys back now because she didn't want her carrying them around. She claimed she had put them up on a high shelf on purpose because she didn't want my daughter to hold them. Keep in mind that this is a children's secondhand used toy/clothing/ bookstore, and the stuffed toys my daughter was holding were on the bottom shelf of a toddler sized bookcase. I was so upset with the owners behavior that after completing my purchase I came back into the store to get a business card so I could write a review on my horrible shopping experience there. The owner started yellling at me how I need to learn to clean up after myself, and continued to yell as I walked out the door of the shop. I was flabbergasted that I was treated so rudley, nevertheless by the owner of the store. Especially since my daughter had done nothing wrong, and the few toys she did play with I put right back when she was done. If you are ever in the area please don't support this insane woman and shop at her consignment store. There is a much better chidren's consignment store operated by Carol Cordone called Snickerdoodles where the owner is friendly and doesn't mind the kids playing with the toys there.
