My photo shoot experience was fantastic! I felt beautiful, empowered, elegant! I hardly recognized myself after my hair and make up were done! Posing came naturally, although some poses looked better in my mind than in reality. It was a life changing three hours of expressing my inner pin up girl. Getting my photos was an entirely different experience!

I do not live locally to the studio so I opted for the photos to be emailed to me. Alanna said it would take 2-3 weeks. After that time passed, I contacted her and she said she was really busy, my photos would be done soon. After more that FIVE weeks they arrived....the wrong ones! When I told Alanna this she insisted that they were the ones I picked. I did not know it was my responsibility as the customer to review the image numbers to be sure that I had written down the correct ones. She wanted for me to travel 80 miles to the studio to review them. As I refused and described the images that I remember choosing she took her time in sending them. This second time, they were still not the ones that I ordered. She fussed and argued that indeed they were and argued over the number of images that I had purchased. In all, it took THREE MONTHS to receive the pictures that I paid for. Not once did she apologize for getting my order incorrect but rather blamed me for the mistakes. Not once did she explain the delay in sending my pictures except to say that she had a lot of shoots. Yes, my pictures are stunning but I have not printed them so I don't know just how high quality and resolution they really are...I'm feeling skeptical. Alanna apparently forgot the cardinal rule in customer service that the customer is always right.

I bought a Groupon for Blush well over a year ago and finally decided to use it for boudoir pictures as a present for my soon-to-be husband. I encountered an issue when calling because, due to the popularity of the shoots, it was very difficult to get in before the Groupon expired. However, I was offered to use my Groupon value towards another package, which I accepted (I was interested in lengthening the time of my shoot, anyway). I set up an appointment, they charged a $50 deposit, and I waited a few weeks for my appointment.

Upon arriving at the salon, the stylist immediately started on my hair. I forget her name, but she was extremely personable, and obviously very experienced, which I was worried about given my extremely long, thick, sometimes unruly hair. She did a fabulous job creating "bedroom" hair after I described to her what I wanted. She also asked if I had pictures, so if you have something specific in mind - bring a picture! While she was doing my hair, she also described the products she was using (not for a sale!) & how she was doing it - I am now able to recreate the look at home thanks to her tips!

After hair, the owner/photographer, Alanna, began working on my makeup. Again, she asked if there was a certain look I was going for, and off she went. I did not receive airbrush makeup, but either way - I loved it!

It was then time to shoot. I originally paid for 1-2 outfit changes and 10 pictures. I brought an entire suitcase of lingerie, jewelry, and shoes, so I wanted to do 3 outfits/15 pictures. Alanna has many different sets, props, and even some outfits, and she is a genius when it comes to matching up what will look best with what. I learned that these types of shoots are very acrobatic and tiring! She had me contorting in different ways & climbing on furniture - I couldn't see it then, but they made for amazing pictures! She must've taken hundreds of pictures, but some of my favorites were the "goof" pictures. She knows exactly how to capture you & your personality in the best ways.

When it was time to pick out the pictures I would purchase, I was met with so many options! She also told me that if there is something certain I don't like on myself or in the picture background, etc., she can edit it out. For me, she edited out a tattoo that I'm currently having laser removal for in every single picture! I selected my pictures & was promised them in 2-3weeks by email. I received them all in just over 4 weeks, but they are PERFECT! I look so amazing, it blows my mind!

The most important thing about this entire process and about Blush/Alanna is that you feel totally comfortable throughout the process. I went topless for the camera (!!!) and was walking around in basically no clothes in the area where you shoot with a woman I barely knew - but that speaks to the comfort level Alanna's personality brings while you are being photographed. My friends and I are already planning a Blush Boudoir Party!

Salon Blush led me to believe my hair would turn out to be something that it definitely did not because they ended up botching my hair color and I had to pay and endure corrective color because of the poor service that I received! The stylist tried to lighten my dark color with color, instead of using an extractor like my corrective stylist did. I was offered no other options by Blush! They let me leave looking terrible and it was only when I got home in real lighting that I noticed how bad it was. This was after I made a deposit the month before to have my (and my bridal party) hair and makeup done there. So naturally, because I received such poor service, I emailed the owner to obtain a refund...because I did not sign a contract and nothing was agreed upon orally. Additionally, the salon does not have their policies posted for customers. The owner did offer to "fix" my hair or a gift certificate, but who in their right mind would go back to someone who messed their hair up?! I wanted a cash refund. The owner, Alanna, then proceeded to become extremely disrespectful and argumentative with me ("customer is always right?") and called me a blatant LIAR. She also said that deposits are for "people like me." (What is that supposed to mean!?) Ah, discrimination at its best. She kept trying to state that my hair was damaged when I came into the salon during our correspondence..my hair was only damaged after I stepped foot in their salon and they tried to lighten color with color! She then ended it with "have a nice wedding" pretty much, and blocked me so that I could not send her messages. Now is that customer service or what? Don't bring your business to this salon -- they are unprofessional, discriminatory, catty, rude, and clearly display that money is their #1 priority, rather than customer service and just common decency in the way that they treat others.

Although a great concept and fun idea, I unfortunately was not able to experience it. I originally purchased the Groupon special for myself and as a gift to my best friend, which was to be a surprise to her. There had been a family crisis involving my daughter a few weeks ago that caused me to be in a state of mind-numbness, stress, etc. that resulted in me forgetting about my appointment 10 days later until my set phone alarm went off shortly before the scheduled time. To make a long story short, a couple of tearful phone calls to explain my situation was met with insensitive, condescending (I suspect because I was using discounted Groupon certificates, based on the intonation of the conversations), and rude staff that actually asked me for a police report after repeating the strict no-refund cancellation policy to me. If the cancellation policy is so strict, why bother asking me for police reports for something that is so sensitive in nature? I emailed the owner to complain about her staff and suggest her business be more sensitive to her target consumer of "every woman". Ms. Ralph replied with no apology for my experience with her staff or mention of the requested police reports, and only stated they were correct in making sure the policy was understood and it was not fair to her that I didn't give enough notice because she had 6 shoots that day and still had to pay for the makeup artist (her website states SHE is the makeup artist, btw), and hairstylist for their time, and I failed to give a reasonable notice despite the strict 7-day policy. To clarify, my problem is not the cancellation policy itself, but the fact that I was actually asked for a police report to prove my reason for cancelling, and admonished by the owner for not considering the policy and her pocket money in the midst of my crisis. It's now 3 weeks later, and thankfully things have improved for my family and my mind is starting to become clear again, enabling me to write this review. I'm also very grateful for Groupon's gracious refund policy, as I was able to get a refund for both purchases (another reason for confusion about the strict policy is that my certificate # was never asked for when I made the appointment for any type of upfront payment or deposit to the salon). I'm also refusing the $50 credit the owner offered to me. I'd rather pay full price with another more established & professional photographer for both my best friend and I (which I do intend to book sometime prior to my wedding at the end of the year). Hopefully, none of her other customers will have an encounter like I did or will in the future.

Blush handled my daughters wedding this year and it as great. I got more compliments with my hair at the wedding. I live outside Philadelphia and am going to make the trip to have them do their magic on a regular basis.

I went last week and got my hair cut dyed and highlighted by Michelle. She did the best job. My highlights were perfect they came out the exact color i wanted them to be. She was very polite and kept me informed of what she was doing. The pricing was not bad at all either. I will definitely go back to Michelle and I would recommend her. As a matter of fact my sister just scheduled an appointment to see her.

I have been a client of Jamie's since she began working her magic.
She is the most awesome hair stylist that I have ever had as well as a very nice girl. I would follow her to the ends of the earth.
