I wouldn't go to these specialty centers unless absolutely necessary. My primary doctor referred me for my dogs eye problem. He presented much better than most dogs cuz I kept his eye very clean. Of course, as overpriced American doctors they wanted to pooh, pooh away his problems and underestimate. They charged several hundred and returned my dog with a swollen eye. My primary physician was critical and they became rude and cruel refusing further treatment. I still may have to file an injunction against harassment. Jan Wood won a business award. They are snooty. I just want treatment there not their opinions or advise. I am extremely lucky that my dog is responding to Systane eye drops which are OTC. I found a specialist in Hermosillo, Mexico educated in Spain who has a lot of experience and probably more affordable named Heriberto Ortega. There are alternatives. Don't take abuse.

My regular vet recommended Dr.Roy as a second opinion to let us know that our cat would need surgery. It was confirmed that my cat needed surgery. After meeting with her for half hour, we paid $90.00 for a consult and a sales pitch that would cost me $2,800.00 later. She gave me this quote after spending very little time looking at my cat's mouth. She took no interest in getting to know my cat. She gave me no alternatives but surgery at a hefty price. I was upset.

I'm shocked at the complaints over cost here!!!! You took your pet to an EMERGENCY and SPECIALTY center, not a free clinic. Get real people! Health care, particularly great health care, isn't cheap! Have any of you thought about what it costs to operate a fully staffed emergency hospital 24 hours a day, 365 days a year??? In veterinary medicine, there's no $10 co-pay that hides the fact that a big insurance corporation in the back is deciding what's right for your treatment. This is real medicine with the associate costs! When my dog ate a box of chocolate in the middle of the night, they were right there with quick reactions to make her vomit and ensure she was ok. When my cat took ill on a weekend, they were right there to diagnose his stomach cancer and help us through a difficult decision. If either of these things had happened M-F 8-5 I would have gone to my regular vet and saved some money, but they didn't. I'm glad they are there 24/7. I'm willing to pay the extra money to ensure I get top-notch care when I need it, not when it's convenient.

These vets put their hands out for money before they care for your pet!!! Our pet was bitten by a rattle snake in the tongue. He was taken out of the room immediatly and no care was provided to him until after we agreed to the treatment. We requested that he be euthenized, however, the vet convinced us that he would have a good chance of survival with the use of pain killers and antibiotics. They sent us home with pills to try and get down his very swollen throat which was impossible. In the end we took him to another vet that looked to the interest of the pet rather then their pocket book.

Took my 16 yr. old cat in with an obvious bladder infection and spent over 2 1/2 hrs. to complete simple treatment. My cat was whisked away on arrival, I was eventually put in a room alone and proceeded to wait...and wait....and wait. After declining a $222.00 urine culture I waited another hour and finally told the receptionist I had to leave. Within 10 min. my cat was produced! They were not busy....only one other car in the parking lot! I will never go back....if you go, take a large book to read because you are in for a wait! I have no doubt they know the vet business but how to run an office and promote good public relations is a big "0".

I've dealt with vets before but I've never been soaked financially more by one than I did here. These people have no shame.

I really wish I'd read the reviews here before taking my cat in. I am now thousands of dollars in debt for what amounted to an obstructed bladder, a fairly common symptom. They will keep running up the tab, and they will absolutely prioritize, before anything, getting that money, 60% up front and they will keep charging you as they go. I certainly don't begrudge anyone getting paid or making a profit but this is just exploitation.

They are very friendly - very friendly, and with a smile they will hand over a long itemized "approximate" list of charges with a price range (don't worry, you can be sure it will be at the top of the range).

I have no way of judging the quality of care here. But one thing is for certain. I will never own or adopt an animal again after this. I can't afford it. This will take me a year to pay off.

I wonder what they'd do if I didn't have the money up front. Give me the kind of mock sing-songy faux-sympathy they seem to have perfected followed by a cold recommendation of the most expensive euthanization option.

I advise you guys don't go there because they charge their treatment too much. Not all staff and veteririans are friendly and nice. If you need an emergency treatment, I advise you to go to Veterinrian Southern.

We had an emergency with our dog, not a good place to take your pet!!!! Within 4 hours of our dog being there estimate went from 924 to 3500. for one night of hospitalization we where given 4 different estimates because when they would bring one out my husband says this is all I have money wise and they would change it around to fit that amount. We gave him as much treatment as we could for the original estimate and wanted to take him home, when I said we would pick him up and take him home she said that we should just put him to sleep because if we took him home he would just suffer from the pain and would die but if they kept him they could take care of him better and he would be better off, I said we can take care of him we love him all we need is to know what to do and we can give him that care, she then said that it wasn't a good idea and we need to keep him there for a couple more days and she said that a technician would give me an estimate for that and clicked me on hold, the technician gave me another quote and I said what if I just wanted to pick him up in the morning don't give him anything else but the nursing care and she got frustrated and came back and said $69.00 until morning, My husband went to get him and they said the nursing care is until midnight that next day not just for the morning well we applied for their credit to pay later the 500 we owed them because we just don't have it and we did not get approved so they said in order to take him we need to pay cash and we said we didn't have it and so they call ed Animal rescue which they paid our bill up front and we can make payments back to them over a period of time no interest! They even allowed us to have a blood test done to see what more was going on and as it turns out lots, we are very hopeful that he will survive with our tender loving care the day Vet was much more sympathetic to our situation and treated us with respect unlike the first Vet. At the bottom of the estimate BEWARE before you sign, says misc take home medications etc $200 when we left we wanted a RX to take to a local pharmacy meds where not that much so we wanted 200 off the bill and we where told that the 200 was spent on our dog already and I said for what and they said for fluid and antibiotics which he was already getting through an IV. I said the estimate said for take home meds etc...meaning the etc is for them to decide! You have to pay 60% of the bill up front cash and the rest when you take your pet home. If you are rich great but for those of us who love our pets and not rich, its not a good place to even start! They know that your pet is a part of your family and totally work you to make you feel that you need all these extra treatments that are not really necessary. We asked a lot of questions and they did not like it one bit and refused to answer some. I would find a Vet who lives near you and has a heart! Heaven forbid you have an emergency! Call before hand we didn't we reacted on love and getting care for our dog and where I feel taken advantage of. Please look around at emergency places now because one day you may need one and you don't want to go here!!!!
