.

We are still trying to rectify issues from our recent cleaning by Hudson Cleaning two weeks ago.

The woman who owns the business is very nice, but very clumsy and careless. First, she broke our spoon rest-pottery trivet right in front of me... forgivable. She said she would leave $10 for a replacement. I had to return to work so I figured that was the worst that could happen. When they were done, my husband arrived home to find the water in the kitchen sink running, the mirrors foggy, and one piece of furniture + all of our hanging pictures still dusty. He walked into the guest bathroom, which is beige, and found large green streaks on two walls along the top of the tile-- not one, but two. (our master bathroom is precisely the same shade of green- what do you think happened?) There was no $10 waiting as she had promised. Later, I found my dog chewing on a piece of the spoon-rest pottery that had not been picked up. My in-laws were coming for dinner the next day, so not only did we have to re-clean several things, but we also had to explain what had happened to our bathroom. Additionally, we spilled some water on our hard wood floors, and upon wiping, found that the floor was still significantly dirty. If these items somehow evaded her quality check, I don't even want to know what would have happened if she, the owner, wasn't present. (she said she usually only comes to first-time cleanings)

We provided feedback and an interest in rectifying the situation. Anything can happen once, right? We made an appointment for the owner of the cleaners to come look at the damage... she never showed. My husband had left work early to meet her, just to wait around for no reason. The next day he found a voicemail on his work phone left 30 min before the appointed meeting time saying that she wasn't coming.

Then we received an email saying that she had left several messages for us and wanted to fix the situation quickly before leaving for vacation. I don't know where those messages were left, because they were never found on either of our work phones, cell phones, or the home phone- many of which she had previously dialed in the process of setting-up the initial cleaning. I called back, and after much arguing about how this situation "couldn't possibly be her fault," but had somehow miraculously appeared on its own after the cleaning, she agreed to come by the following Monday. She also agreed to purchase paint for our bathroom and replace the trivet in order to avoid further (possibly legal) action. She did not show AGAIN for this meeting and didn't even bother leaving a phone message this time.

At this point we are planning to take the money we would have paid for cleaning and attempt to restore our home to its previous condition. I would strongly recommend that you do not hire this cleaning company if you care about your home and personal property. It was one of the cheapest we found... and we've learned that you truly get what you pay for with Hudson Cleaners- or less!
