I am so glad I met Dr. Fehnel BEFORE reading these reviews, otherwise I may have changed my mind. I seem to have had a completely different experience, and I've been to the office twice (other than my surgery). I've never been to a doctor that didn't have other patients to see so I don't expect them to put their feet up and chat it up but I do expect my questions answered. I went there with a list of questions, and Dr. Fehnel looked me in the eye answered without acting like it was an inconvenience. I have confidence that I put myself and my health in good hands and would recommend him to friends.

I brought my son to Sports North for shoulder pain....I have NEVER seen such a place of business in my life. People are cattle there and the whole 2 minutes they take with you is ridiculous!!! I have never seen soooo many people brought in rooms then all told the same thing...Therapy and meds!!! who are they kidding and BOY do they make a profit there, it's like a revolving door constantly!!! It is the WORST place of business I have ever been in!! I advise anyone to find a different place!!!

I find myself in almost complete agreement with the first reviewer.
I refer to Dr. Fehnel as Dr. Brief, as in here and gone. My last visit i timed him, 1.5 minutes for a post op check up after major shoulder surgery, he did not put a hand on me or ask about my range of motion. He comes across that you, the patient is an inconvinece to him and he has better things to do. He was like that on his first visit with me and i thought it just that day.
Admittingly, he did seem to do a good job on me but he is as arogent as thery come, he does not think he's God, he knows it!
I also had no ploblem getting pain meds from him, maybe i have the first poster to thank for that..thank you!
Would i use him again knowing what i know now, no. Do i think you should you him, no!
I think you can find just as good who are in better touch with and actualy care about thier patients!!
I would say i hope he reads this but honestly, i dont think he cares!

David Fehnel specializes in shoulder surgery. Although I believe he did a good job with my surgery, I thought he did a rotten job with my care. He is impatient with questions. He cops an attitude quite easily. He scared the bejesus out of me when I inconvenienced him before my surgery with a question about my clotting disorder. He implied that the anesthesiologist wouldn't want to work with me although I am otherwise healthy. After speaking with the anesthesiologist and my hemotologist, I realized he was just being pissy. I should have gone to another surgeon at that point but I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Within a month of the surgery, I was referring him as Dr. Prick. His PA offered me a new Rx for pain meds. I accepted it. Fehnel was miffed with me--not the PA. Come on! 30 pain pills for rotator cuff surgery is not excessive.

Expect him to run into the room, verbally vomit what he has to say and then run from the room while you're still trying to figure out what he just said. Good luck. He isn't into explanations. If I have further issues, I will go elsewhere.
