AuPairCare has been great for our family. I have hosted 3 au pairs thus far from AuPaircare and all have been great caregivers for my children. It was really easy to review profiles online, see videos and decide who we liked. The au pair

Being a single parent, I was unsure if getting an au pair would work out. Yet, when I called in all my concerns were dispelled. Their great customer service really reassures you of the program's overall quality and success. They've been around for over 20 years, and are still helping families get au pairs! I love that whenever I call, I don't get voicemails! I've been helped every step of the way, and appreciate the outreach they offer. It's tough being a single parent, but the au pair program has been a huge relief.

My husband and I have three kids, and we really needed an affordable childcare alternative that could work with our crazy schedule. When we first checked out Au Pair Care, we were initially concerned about inviting a stranger into our house. How would we pick the right au pair? What if our kids didn??t like her? Au Pair Care was really easy because they have a huge, searchable database with a lot of au pairs to choose from: male and female! Their profiles are fairly extensive, so you can feel comfortable that you know a little more about these people. Plus, the help that you get from the company is awesome: they really learned who we were and what we needed, and matched us with a fabulous au pair from Germany. We even got to skype with her before she came over. Our life has been such a joy since. She has really become part of our family, and shares in all our activities. The kids love her and wish she could move here permanently, and us parents really love having some time to ourselves now and then. We feel comfortable with her because she went through childcare training before , and we know that even if there are problems, there is someone right in our area there to help sort them out. I highly recommend going with these guys!

Check out the unbiased report on AuPairCare at www.aupairclearinghouse.com - AuPairCare has been rated the #1 agency in the nation and for good reason. They provide both their host families AND au pairs with EXCELLENT customer care. The writer of the one star review (Horrible, Horrible, etc...) failed to mention that it is the host family's responsibility to select , thoroughly interview and hire their au pair - This is NOT the job local CC or Area Director's job. It seems to me that this unfortunate person is blaming the LCC for their lack in interviewing skills. Yes, a family could do an excellent and thorough job interviewing and still end up with a dud but that is by far the exception. Au pairs are screened and background checked but they are not given lie detector tests. There is no way practical way to access their driving ability so that is also an area where the family will have to do their homework. Another thing to consider is that food preparation is very different in other countries where something like soup typically does not come out of a can. Many au pairs don't have a clue what to do with our pre-prepared/pre-packaged foods. They need their host parents (not their Area Director) to take the time to teach them how we do food here in America - it is VERY DIFFERENT!!!.

I can't express enough to you how horrible this company is to work with. They have low expectations of their Au Pairs as well as their Area Directors, particularly, Colorado! The Area Director in Colorado Springs is undoubtedly the worst communicator and customer service representative I have encountered. They will send you an Au Pair that can't cook or drive; however, their application said they could do both. Then they will recycle this Au Pair with a different family versus reprimanding her for lying on her application, and send her back home. The company obviously has their priorities confused and it is a shame as it could be a good experience for all involved. My advice would be to educate their area directors and to screen the Au Pairs more carefully...maybe have a verbal conversation with them to ask them how to open a can of SOUP! My gosh...it is so simple to avoid mishaps such as this. Good luck!

I've been really happy with this agency over the past few years for a variety of reasons. We really took our time in shopping around for a good agency when we first started using au pairs three years ago. I had heard good and bad things about many of them and really didn't know what to expect since I didn't personally know anyone who was using an agency at the time. (Since then 2 of our family friends have started using this agency.) We chose aupaircare because we felt the most comfortable with their customer service and payment plan, plus we fell in love with an au pair profile. I like that they allow us to go in and look at all the au pairs ourselves as opposed to other agencies that wanted to do it for us. We've had 4 au pairs so far. One of them didn't work because she did not acclimate to being in a new place--she pretty much never smiled and stayed in her room all the time, not to mention the ridiculous phone bill. We were worried that the agency would hassle us but they were very helpful and we had a new au pair who we loved in a matter of weeks.
Our AD has been very kind and open armed and the recent charity event with build a bear was truly great. My sister works at the local childrens hospital and they were all so touched that it made me feel good to be using that agency.

Pros: Let us take charge of the matching process

Cons: Au pairs are awful drivers
