I've had the privilege of being treated for hair on two different locations, and they are GOOD. Professional, seem to have a vision for you during the consult that always takes place.AND, the big plus is that there is a facial spa that is holistic/european that you can book with Amanda Guedus. I'm willing to bet the others are great like Amanda-who gives the MOST amazing facial with warm essential oils and more. Lotus has very well educated and professional staff, with a warm and welcoming greeting each time by the lovely owner. As I make it my job to hop from one salon to another as is part of my business, I will always be impressed. The prices are competitive.I gave a 4 star as the hair services section could use a little more ambiance and warmth. It may not, really SHOULD not affect your giving The Lotus a try. They like it clean, white and bright. Yes, very sanitary. I love them!

Best kept secret
by aahhaa
I wanted to share with everyone Kirkland's secret treasure. It is one of the loveliest spa I've seen, smells good too. I first came to Lotus for manicures, it was the best. They outlast any I've had before. I moved on to pedicures, facials, waxing, massages, hair, and so on and so on. They are my one stop shop for upkeep and pampering. Lotus does the best massages with their services, turns me to putty. My favorite is friday's happy hour. Pampering and relaxing with your girlfriends at the end of the work week, with champagne! And also chocolate and strawberries, no creepy guys hitting on you. I even switched to Pevonia skincare and Jane Iredale mineral makeup. I loveit and obviously trust their recommedations. They carry the best products and other neat stuff.I love Lotus and they become like family. All my friends and family I've sent there are also addicted.
Pros: High quality @ a great price, they do everything, ample parking
Cons: Close sundays

Feels like Family ... without having to do dishes!
by NWDesignGroup
For me an indicator of whether or not I will return to a business is a "family and friend" thing. More specifically, would I bring or recommend the business to my family and friends. I have been a client at Lotus since shortly after its opening. I return frequently for gel nails, hair cut & color, massage, pedicure, or just to relax and laugh till I cry. I have brought my three sisters with me for a memorable afternoon of customized treatments. My best friend and I shared plans while having the most amazing pedicures on the planet. Athena gives my husband the best haircut he has had in 30 years... no exaggeration. Both my grown daughters have become return clients after originally going in with gift certificates. And before my daughter gets married this summer I will bring my 87 year old mother to Lotus to have her first spa pedicure with her granddaughters. Donna and her team at Lotus Salon & Spa are the best... I trust my family and friends to them. That's my ultimate test and Lotus passes with flying colors.
Pros: free parking behind building! great music in salon, soothing music in spa

Response to Winn Richardson
by LotusSalonSpa
Dear Clients
I often check this site to ensure that I am aware of all your experiences - hopefully all good. But unfortunately once in a blue moon there may be some criticism that I do take very seriously. The spa is my pride and joy and I treat my clients with the utmost respect and care as I do appreciate the time and money that they spend with us. This is especially true during such a hard economic time in our Country where the value of a dollar is definitely understood.
Therefore, when I first came across Winn Richardson's review I was very shocked. Like I said before I take pride in my spa and ensure you that one of our first priorities is hygiene. As a practitioner in the industry for over a decade I know the necessity of hygiene and do not accept anything less than perfect. So W. Richardson can rest assure that we are dedicated to a high standard of care with all of our products, services, and facility in general.
I also agree with Winn Richardson that a spa is a place of relaxation....an oasis to get away and be pampered. That is why the television in the lobby faces towards the street for advertising in the evening only and is not functioning during spa hours when we can answer questions personally about the spa. We want to show passerbyers what we have to offer them at the Lotus Salon and Spa.
I did search our records to try and find Winn Richardson to personally contact her/him to come back and try us again; however I was unable to locate the booking in our records. I would invite you to contact me so we could turn you into one of our many happy and repeat clients. I encourage our clients to voice their concerns at the time of their spa visit so we can always address them right away and make sure they enjoy the visit.
Hoping everyone the best in the New Year and hoping we will be your spa choice.
Sincerely
Donna Phung

Dirty Spa
by winnrichardson
This spa seemed like the perfect place for an after work manicure or facial but when I got in I was very disappointed! The spa was dirty. The sheets on the bed looked like they had not been changed between several customers and when performing my wax treatment the technician double dipped the waxing sticks into the wax. A big sanitary no, no. One other thing I noticed during my brief visit to the spa was a brand new flat screen TV in the lobby...I thought spa's were a place to get away from it all.

As the 2 year anniversary for Lotus Salon & Spa draws near, it makes me look back and reflect on all the ups and downs of the intitial stages of our business. I have been fortunate over the past couple of years with our spa being blessed with great staff and most importantly wonderful clientele. We have enjoyed ever;y step of the process in making our Spa an oasis for our Clients. As a result our clients have become more like friends and the staff more like family
In addition it is my personal mission to ensure that every past, present and potential client will walk away from our Spa happy and satisfied. Therefore, I love reading the reviews posted on the City Search site and take each one very seriously. Thank you all for taking the time to write down your thoughts and experiences. This will help us continue to offer you the best sevice and products possible and ensure that you continue to be happy when you are done your time at the Spa. I began my career and the health and beauty industry over 10 years ago and the one thing I have learned and value during this time is the importance of a happy and well looked after client. Every aspect of the Lotus Salon & Spa is dedicated to this philosophy.

I'll definitely return - client for life.
by spalover89
I want to thank lotus spa for the warm and friendly environment. I was greeted with an offer for tea and then led to a zen like change room where I changed into a lush robe. I had a brief wait before I was taken in for my facial. I wish my wait was longer because their relaxation room is just that - wonderfully relaxing. After my facial, I recieved a beautiful haircut and blowdry. The stylist was informative and used a special hair treatment that made my hair silky. All this for a great price. They even invited me back just to sit in their relaxation room to relax. How nice after a busy day.
Pros: Curl up in fluffly robe in relaxation room, parking, fun, professional staff
Cons: Wish they were open on Sundays

Poor attitude and overpriced, average service
by judgementgirl
I tried this place after relocating to the eastside. I came to my appointment in a great mood and left in a horrible mood. The hairstylist was so negative! Complaining about all kinds of things throughout the appointment. I left looking almost the exact same (only a trim was done) but was in a bad mood and out $70 (plus tip). Not worth it. The last thing you want is for a negative atmosphere and a mediocre service to be performed. I didn't dislike the cut, but certainly wasn't impressed. Watch out!
Pros: Location, parking
Cons: Attitudes of employees, skill levels below average

aaahhh, just what I needed.
by supesoeur
what can I say...I had the best time at Lotus. I came in for a body exfoliation treatment which the owner, Donna did herself and a facial, which was done by Rachel (I think that was her name). Anyways, it was amazing. I loved that the owner was actually one of the staff there, which is rare in a lot of high end spas. It makes me feel like there's more of a personal touch and dedication to quality when they are actually involved.
I fell asleep during my facial and in my tired stupor asked if I could keep sleeping for a bit. Even though they were fairly busy they graciously let me stay for another 45 minutes until the next appointment was due. I never was interupted or made to feel like they were getting impatient with me. Not only did I get a wonderful body treatment and facial but the best power nap I've had in years. When I woke up the staff had set aside some wine and water for me to replenish. What a treat. It was more than just a spa experience..I felt so at ease and pampered. They had nothing but smiles for me when I got there and when I left....thank you thank you Donna and Rachel...you guys made my week.
See you very soon!!!!
Pros: professional, sweet staff, comfortable and relaxing. Also great to have free parking.
Cons: can't think of any!

Waiting...
by rarereviewer
I came promptly to my 5pm appointment as a first time customer. I waited for 30 minutes, debating every 5 minutes if I should bail. I rationalzed that I would probably waste more time if I left by making and traveling to another appointment.
The staff was apologetic and I know these things happen. However, given that I was only 5 minutes away, I would have appreciated a phone call letting me know they were running late.
While I waited I was entertained (not) by a 2 year old boy who kept coming in to the waiting area to get candy and then throw the wrappers away...a two step process for him.
Jury is out for me, but will probably give them another try.

Great spa and salon
by justme811
After a very dissapointing visit to a salon the day before, I decided I have to find a new place. But the problem was - I didn't know about any. So I did some research and decided to go with Lotus. First - it's in downtown Kirkland, so very convinient location. So ... I went for a haircut - which is the best way to "get the vibe" in a new place. I ended up having the haircut, color, treatment, and a new appointment for hightlights. I can't say enough about the Lotus. They have all the things a spa has - the profesionalism, the looks, the high end products - MINUS the uptight feeling of a downtown spa AND the prices. My final bill was less than I expected for coloring only. I've got skin care samples and advice - without even having a facial appointment. (I was obviously suffering though after my peeling and micro the day before, treatments done at another skin care place, taht left me not only $300 "lighter", but with my face flaking constantly, and hurting). So - this is what you will get at Lotus : great service, people really interested in your well being, , information about how to take care of your hair/ skin at home, all treatments done with very good products.. But even more important than the quality of the products and service - I found the feeling that you are the guest, and you are feeling really like visiting friends who just try to make you feel really good for the time you are visiting. And did I mention they have the best coffee I drank in a long time? All in all - I am really happy to have found them, and even happier that they have all the services I need in one place. I am looking forward to my next appointment.
Pros: a big A + for service, products, prices.
Cons: I really can't think of any.

Wonderful Experience!
by SuNStu
The Lotus Spa & Salon was wonderful. I researched many places on the web before I chose Lotus Spa & Salon. I wanted something special for my 14th anniversary, and the couples massage at Lotus Spa & Salon was perfect. The staff were professional and kind. We were treated lavishly. The massages were excellent. It was my first massage, and I felt very relaxed and well taken care of. I think I will have to make massage a regular part of my life! And they even had champagne, strawberries and chocolate for us afterward. My husband was in heaven with the champagne - and I got to drink my 2 bottles of water! They thought of everything. We highly recommend the Lotus Spa & Salon.
Pros: Staff and services were excellent.
Cons: Kirkland is far for us to travel.

Looking for a great Spa with great service?
by foxtrot102
I tried out the new Spa a couple of days ago with another girlfriend on a whim. Just to spoil ourselves. I was expecting the usual spa experience with someone making small talk and sending me on my way afterwards. But what I got was an extremely sweet and professional Spa Owner and staff. They were so down to earth and funny. At the same time I was able to completely relax along with my friend (she actually fell asleep during her pedicure). After starting with just a pedicure I ended up trying to fit a facial in as well. They were busy but Donna (the owner) on short notice squeezed us in, but definitely didn't make us feel neglected in any way. You would never know that she had just fit us in. We loved it so much, and even though it is a bit our of our area with other spas in our neighbourhood we found ourselves booking in advance for a massage and another pedicure in a couple of weeks. My gal pal and I have decided to make it a once a month ritual. Besides ,a girl's day in Kirkland (shopping, pedicures, facials, eating and afternoon drinking) is exactly what I need once in a while.
You've gotta check it out. We had a blast.
Pros: Free parking in the front and the back. Walking distance to tons of boutiques, the marina, restaurants, etc.
Cons: I live about 40 minutes away, happened upon it after a day of shopping in the area.
