Shampoo Bar

I have had my hair cut and coloured 2x with Nancy at Shampoo Bar, I picked it from reading reviews here on citysearch, it was very appealing that her products are organic and non toxic. I love her!! I love the salon, it's kind of tiki mix with parisian french wall art, very comfortable to hang out in with great selection of reading material while the hair is cooking. I have found that when you go to large establishments you feel like a number on a conveyor belt, not here, she takes her time, adds colours if she thinks that something is missing, you feel like your really being taken care of and I have complete trust in her work, it is as social as you want to be, sometimes you go to salons and it's exhausting since you have to have a whole long conversation with everyone who comes within 3 feet of your hair,not here, you get to chat as much or as little as you want. She is receptive to hearing what you want for your hair and making it work for you, not cookie cutter in the least From someone who has traveled all over the country (literally from canada to south carolina to alaska and many many places in between for my job and stay there for longish periods of time) I have to say I have found no better place to get your hair cut if you are looking for the personal experience. It should also be noted that there are an assortment of products for sale but no pressure to purchase anything, I have previously been to Gary Manual here in Seattle and found that the products were shoved down my throat as if they were not already making enough money on me in the first place, Nancy tells you about what is being used on you and the discussion is over unless you ask questions, (since i know you read the reviews, thanks so much for the shampoo that i did buy this time, it worked great!!)

For starters.... Very cute and intimate salon with lots of organic products for purchase.
The important stuff... Nancy is super down to earth and truly good at what she does. She picked the absolute best shades for my hair. She used a coloring technique I have never seen before and it turned out fabulous. This is coming from a girl who has been getting her hair done for YEARS. This is my biggest splurge financially. So when I get it done.. it means a lot for it to turn out well. I will return to the Shampoo bar next time I get my hair done.

Nancy is a GODDESS! She completely fixed a bad haircut (from another salon) without sacrificing a lot of length and gave me the perfect cut. Her salon is relaxing and luxurious, yet surprisingly affordable, especially considering Nancy's considerable attention to detail. I'm sure it'll be at least 6 weeks before I need another cut, but I can't wait to get back! Go to Shampoo Bar and let Nancy spoil you... Enjoy!

I love the Shampoo Bar. I get great cuts and great service while supporting a business that is making kind choices to benefit human and eco-health. The prices are reasonable and the place immediately puts you at ease. Nancy is great. She is super friendly and helpful. Give this eco salon a try.

This is the best hair color I have ever had. I have been told that "your hair has never looked better" and "it looks so healthy" and "your cut is amazing" and I had my hair done a month and a half ago and the color is still covering up my gray. :-) THANK YOU NANCY. YOU ARE A HAIR GODDESS! The shampoo you sold me is amazing...Sodium Lauryl Sulfate free and very effective. My hair still looks so good! I can't wait to come see you again, but the color is doing such a good job, it might be the end of July before I do! You're amazing!!!!! Thanks!

(I have had my hair colored regularly for the last two years. I started to notice that I would get a headache that lasted about 3 days...figured it was the ammonia/chemicals. I found Nancy at the Shampoo Bar, she made an appointment with me over email....and I had ZERO headache and there were literally no chemical smells or burning or anything. Very educational, very healthy!!!)
