1 Stars: Cancelled on me twice! Skip them if you need service help (by by Speigelman at Citysearch)

I called to get some help with my existing home theater set up and was initially pleased with what they said about optimizing it. I made an appointment and looked forward to getting my set up problem fixed.

I changed my work schedule to be home in time to meet their technician and waited. I got a call that day informing me that their technician was running late due to his earlier job taking longer. I understand that can happen and said since I'm home, he can come anytime that day. I received another call from them a few hours later saying the technician wasn't going to come at all and would I like to reschedule. I declined and said I'd call back after I speak to my boss about coming home early another day.

I called them back a week or so later and made another appointment, the next one being over two weeks away. The day before this next appointment (the day I'm writing this) they called to cancel again!

Wow, I get it - you don't want to make $125 per hour on a crappy service call to Brooklyn that'll take a few hours. It's okay, I understand this job wasn't big, but geez, treat the me, the customer with a little respect.

Bottom line, I wasted two days time off to get nothing done. I really wish they just would have said they don't do service calls and I would have moved on to find someone who wants my business.

We hired Bright Home Theater do our entire apartment's whole house audio, heating/ air conditioning control, lighting control, and our home theater. These guys made the process very pleasant. The first step was meeting with the owner who simplified the process. My wife went to the initial orientation and really enjoyed herself. The owner worked with our architect directly (who in the end liked Kerry so much he now recommends them to other clients). They supplied CAD renderings and all the specifications as well as a full Audio Video overlay. Kerry worked with our electricians to install lighting control, our HVAC guys to install AC, and even helped out with a plumbing

Even better was Kerry's staff was actually commented on by the other contractors. They were very good at working with the electrician and general contractor. They never held up our job and did some remarkable trouble shooting in the field. Let it be known, these guys are pros at what they do. They ran over 300 wires in our home but you wouldn't have known it.

Once the system was in we had a few issues but they were quickly resolved and we were made to feel like we had a team we could rely on. The system has worked flawlessly.

If you are doing a major renovation and looking for top notch AV guys I can not recommend Bright Home Theater enough.

I bought my Stereo from Bright Home Theater. Kerry spent two hours with us looking at different options. What amazed both me and my girlfriend was Kerry never once made us feel uncomfortable about our budget. He showed us differences in performance of speakers and amplifiers. Being able to hear the differences and knowing why helped us to make a decision.

We have been listening to music non-stop since we got our stereo and we are thrilled with the sound. I think this level of customer service is rare these days. I will by my next stereo from Kerry. Highly recommended.

unsure about the service, but the owner is mentally unstable. rude and verbally abusive, threatening, disrespectful and misleading. not very honest and i would not let them in my business or home.
anyone can put a tv on the wall. shop around.

These guys were great!

It was really an easy experience. Everywhere else I went and everyone else I spoke to tried to up-sell me, but not these guys. Kerry was extremely helpful. He really put together a great system for me for even less then I wanted to spend. He really knows is stuff and makes the extra effort to help and educate the customer. He answered all my calls and all my questions (and there were a lot). He even came over to make sure the system sounded right. This is first class service all the way. I cannot say enough about them and would recommend them to anyone. The system sounds great!

I recently purchased a media unit for my apartment and needed a professional installer to re-install all of my audio and video equipment onto the unit. Out of pure luck, I came across Bright Home Theater while doing a search on the internet last Saturday afternoon and left a message describing my needs. Kerry, the owner called me back within a few hours and spent 15 to 20 minutes analyzing my needs, made a few suggestions and scheduled his team to install my equipment on that following Monday. Eric, Kerry's installer, showed up exactly on time when the appointment was scheduled and performed his work methodically, carefully and professionally. Eric not only was extremely knowledgeable and professional but considerate of our apartment. When he entered my apartment, he immediately noticed that we did not wear shoes in the apartment. He immediately took off his shoes and began laying out protective materials so as to not damage any of our furniture and wood floors. I was very impressed and appreciative of his consideration and awareness of our apartment. I highly recommend Bright Home Theater for anyone who is looking for a First Class, High End, Home Theater Specialist.

My experience with Bright Home Theater began two years ago. Working with Kerry, Eric, David, and his proficient team, you can be assured you are getting a cusomize home theater experience. I live in upper Westchester and service is very important, especially dealing with the complexity of a high quality video & sound system. Two years and a number of visits later, they continue to be there and stand behind their products and services, and continue to educate you along the way. To me they are more like friends and family than a vendor. Can't recommend them more highly!

Setting up a home theatre is not going to Ikea, buying some furniture & setting it up. You want to deal with someone who's professional, honest & patient when it comes to this stuff. Bright Home Theatre has provided me with all of that while giving me the best result I could've imagined for my basement.

They've got professionals in every field. From Construction, to Wiring, to Equipment, to programming your remote. Not only was the job done nice, but they go the extra mile to make things perfect for you, things that you'd think it's not a big deal, I wish it was corrected, but if not, I'll live. They'll fix it up and make it just the way you'd want it. I was so happy with their work in my basement, I ended up hiring them to do my living room's lighting & even set up timers for my fishtank.

I'm no pro with sound & video equipment. But after having had conversations about speakers, projectors, screens & all that good stuff, with them. I learned quite a bit. The best thing is, they won't rave one or two products for an hour, but instead, you'll get a bunch of different options, you'll know their pros & cons, and then they'll help you choose what you need.

I think as long as you have a budget & somewhat of an idea on what you'd like, these guys are really the people you wanna deal with when it comes to a home theatre project.

When we relocated to New York, I brought equipment in tow and a hope for an integrated whole house (apt) system. After searching we found BHT.
The team was fantastic.
#1They listen to what we wanted and our vision.
#2They then provided solutions that fit our vision and our budget.
#3 They integrated our components into our new system.
#4 Their workmanship is second to none.
#5 They are professional, and courteous.
#6 The completed the project on time.
I could go on but I think the point is made.

I called for a free consultation with Bright Home Theater and was surprised to find out that the consultation was much more thorough then I could have imagined. I was given and shown examples of many options, shown audio and video demos (most of which blew my doors off), and had technical information broken down into terms that I could understand, without being condescending. After my consultation I knew that BHT was the only company I would be comfortable with.

Every aspect from receiving a contract, purchasing equipment, and installation was seamless and easy. The owner even helped us with some contracting issues. It was obvious they knew their stuff. The installers were courteous and treated or home with more respect then any other contractor we have ever had in our home,

I highly recommend Bright Home Theater.

Choosing the right home theater system can be a very overwhelming and confusing experience, yet Kerry, the owner of Bright Home Theater, took the time to explain the basics of acoustics and gave me several options in my price range until we found the perfect system for my needs. Your team of professionals was fantastic during the installation process.

Eric was terrific about making adjustments to speaker placement and wire management during the installation process that by the time he was done, I couldn't even tell that a single wall was broken open.

It's been 2 months now and I haven't had any complaints from my neighbors that my music or movies are too loud. Thanks so much for the awesome system!

If you are going to turn a room in your house into a home entertainment system...this is the place to go. They have everything you need from Chairs to televisions and rack systems.
