Thai Lotus  5 Star Rating - World class

By Paul S. | top100 Top 100 Reviewer | Rank: 44

Located just about a mile and a half from ROUTE 80, this restaurant offers some great Asian dishes along with a relaxing atmosphere which is what we needed after skiing Alta all day long. All the food was delicious and piping hot.if If you enjoy great Asian/Chinese food then give Thai Lotus a try.

My #1 favorite for dinner in SLC. 5 Star Rating - World class

By smithk83

We get carry out from here at least once a month. Our order is always correct. The food is hot and delicious. Massaman Curry with beef is amazing. The beef falls apart and melts in your mouth. Very good prices.

Dining in is also a treat. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. I have listened to the servers explain the menu to people who are not familiar with Thai food. They really go the extra mile. We often find little complimentary desserts in our carry out bag.

Watch for a coupon in the "Family Values" circular that comes in the mail. We make use of it every month. These coupons move the prices from very reasonable to a total steal.

Just doing my part to spread the word about this Salt Lake gem. 5 stars from me!

Pros: Delicious food, warm, inviting atmosphere, good prices.

A Christmas Gift We Didn't See Coming 5 Star Rating - World class

By ProudProgressive

Every once in a while you hear of those Christmas experiences that personify the "miracle of the season". We just had one, and Thai Lotus had alot to do with it. My wife and I were in the neighborhood to drop off some goods to a woman who suffered a terrible apartment fire, and who was also working at the Thai Lotus that night (Christmas Eve). Our plan was to drop the stuff off to her and then have a bite to eat there before going home. So, we approach the front door and it looks like the place is packed, but a "CLOSED" sign is on the front door. "Private party" I think to myself, and we turn around to find another place to eat until the woman we came to see gets off work. Right as we turned, a kindly silver haired gentleman stepped out the door and said "Where are you going? Come on in!". So we did, and four or five wonderful Thai ladies wearing Santa hats ushered us to an incredible buffet of Thai food, and then to a table. The place was just alive with children, adults enjoying the food and the conversation, and overall that incredible feeling of family that we are not used to experiencing these days just being whisked in off the street. We try to discreetly ask the host how we can pay (we sort of were "crashed" into the party) and she said absolutely not, this was a Christmas gift. We ate our fill of that wonderful food, got the items to the lady in need, and after thanking everyone there for the above-and-beyond hospitality, left to talk about the Christmas gift that came our way ourtside of our expectations. So, we are definitely going back to Thai Lotus. Not just because the food was absolutely amazing, but they offer something that's a sadly rare commodity these days - hospitality and the idea that you are family they just met.

Pros: Great food, fantastic service and warm family feeling
Cons: That it's so far from home!

Great Thai food, but service at lunch can be poor 4 Star Rating - Very good

By katasurfer

This place has very good Thai food, decor is better than most and when fully staffed and doing dinner it is at it's best. Have gone there for lunch a few times and had very poor service and the food was rushed and not fully cooked. Wide range of excellent dishes, covering all the different taste sensations of Thai food... again, like the fact that it is Thai owned, Thai cooks and Thai wait staff.... keep it up, you will not be disappointed for a fine Thai dinner... parking can be a hassle however.

Great place for newbies 5 Star Rating - World class

By sumann

Me and my husband have never had Thai food and we weren't sure which restaurant to try out. Luckily we chose Thai Lotus and it was a great experience. We will definitely be back again! The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly and helped us out. I ordered the chicken pad thai noodle dish and my husband got chicken yellow curry soup with noodles. IT WAS DELCIOUS! I'm already craving the food!!!

Pros: Great food and great service
Cons: None

The food is fantastic and the service is even better than that. The restaurant is so cute and welcoming. The staff is awesome. Very good prices. You can't go wrong with the Thai Lotus. They even have authentic Thai music on Friday nights. Try it and you'll be a regular too.
