Best Massage I have ever had!  5 Star Rating - World class

My husband sent me to Sedona Spa with a personalized birthday gift certificate he designed for me himself (loved it!) Everyone there is very real and there is this really good happy energy there that instantly surrounds you as soon as you walk in. I am a huge spa junkie who while always enjoying myself on my spa visits around Dallas has never really received what I consider to be the ultimate massage. Massages are always good thing - and all spas are pretty much the same - but I have to tell you, the massage therapist I had at Sedona was the most amazing therapist I have ever had in my entire spa-going life! From the moment she began to work on me, it was obvious she is absolutely gifted. If you need a massage or you are wanting to give the perfect gift to someone who really needs truly excellent work done on their body, you MUST book it at Sedona. I have now been back to Sedona 3 times, personally requesting Dionne and making a point to also sit in their special Saunas. Each time, I have always received excellent attention and service by their staff and Dionne has never disappointed me. I highly recommend Sedona Spa and I am grateful for these forums allowing people to review because that is how my husband found and chose Sedona. I will never go anywhere else. On the flip side or reviews, I have to be really honest with you, I read those two negative reviews on here and they sound so extreme and so out of alignment with all of the other reviews and especially totally off base in with my own personal experienes at Sedona that I suspect they are reviews either strategically placed by a competitor or...I hate to say it...but...they really sound like two people who are not playing with a full deck. Sedona is a perfect place to send anyone for their 1st spa visit or their 100th spa visit and I would buy every family member, friend and co-worker a gift certificate there in a heartbeat - knowing they will be well taken care of.

Buyer Beware  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I normally do not write reviews; however, I had such a terrible "non-experience" at the Sedona spa that I wanted to share my "buyer beware" story. I am currently a student and a friend of mine bought me a massage and sauna at the Sedona spa for my birthday. I was excited after seeing all of the good reviews this place has received. On the day of my appointment, I left 30 minutes in advance to come to the spa (which is only 10 minutes away from me). On the way, I hit traffic due to an accident that was on the road. I called the spa to mention to them that I was going to be 10 minutes late. I was told that the time would cut into my session. Once I reached the spa, after battling traffic, I was actually 30 minutes late for my appointment and was told that I had missed my appointment and therefore had lost my certificate. I could re-book but would have to pay for that day's appointment as it would be considered a late cancellation. I would also like to clarify that I was not told of their cancellation policy on the phone when I initially booked the appointment (and I had booked with the manager). Right there went my whole gift certificate (and my friend's money/my birthday present) down the drain. Even after speaking to the manager, I was told that nothing could be done despite my good faith effort to make it there on time and calling ahead since I was going to be late. I am pretty surprised and appalled at the level of service I received at this spa. The circumstances in this situation were completely beyond my control and I find it difficult to believe that I am the first person to ever be late due to being stuck in traffic due to an accident on a major Dallas highway (I-35). It seems surprising that given I was a first time customer, the spa was willing to throw away all future business opportunities they had with me by choosing this course of action. I would strongly recommend anyone who is thinking of buying a gift certificate to this spa not to as they clearly do not care to provide service once they have already received payment. It certainly surprises me that in today's economy, a service industry would treat a customer in such a terrible manner.

worst spa experience I ever had  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

My husband booked a facial for me, prepaying both the charge and tip, before whisking me off for a surprise weekend. Both of us had looked into Sedona based on the rave reviews it had gotten.

I was booked for an 8:30AM facial. I arrived 15 minutes early so I might get ready, use the restroom, and relax after my drive in from Plano. The doors wee locked. I circled the block a couple of times and each time I came back the doors were still locked with no sign of activity inside. Finally at 8:30, I pulled on the doors making a loud clanging sound and someone came to let me in. She then made me complete paperwork regarding how often I drank, when I last saw my doctor, what my stress level was (increasing from this experience), etc. I protested, saying I was only getting a facial and was told they had to have the form for their files. Rather than delaying further, I completed the form hastily and said I was already being made late for my appt. She told me they did not open until 9:00. At this point I was very angry and would have left except my husband had prepaid. I told her I had an appt at 8:30 and that it and tip was prepaid.

She took me back with nothing said and gave me a key to a locker and a top wrap. She verified with another women that no robes were given for facials. So I left my jeans and shoes on. As I stood not knowing what to do, someone folding sheets asked if I needed help and I said I was needing a facial. She said she was doing it and pointed to a room.

I was asked to lay on the table. There was no attempt to provide any neck or knee support. She did offer to remove my shoes but given I had no slippers or socks offered I declined. I did not want to walk around barefoot and I have never been to a massage or spa setting that expected me to. I laid on the table flat on my back with no support throughout the 1 hour session, except for when I bent my knees putting my feet on the table to save my back.

The woman turned on the classical music which was played too loudly for relaxation. She began the facial and all I could smell was nicotine. For the whole hour, all I could smell was nicotine. She applied product after product, none of which had any scent -- at least none that could override the nicotine smell.

I needed the facial because I really needed blackhead removal along my cheekline. She removed some on my forehead, nose, and chin and never looked at my cheekline. And it was the most painful digging into my face I ever had. She also did not do anything to my neck until the end when she wiped product residue from my face off my neck. Then, as if an afterthought, she placed her hand across my neck about 3 times open-palmed. Other than this and a few bad attempts at circular runs on my shoulders, there was no treatment done between jaw line and shoulders.

In addition to all that, the woman left 2 times during the session. The first time was during the steam, at which point I had to reach up and adjust the steam to blow on my full face rather than only 1 cheek. All I can assume is that she took a cigarette break while the product had to have time to work. At other places this is when I usually have my hands massaged or full neck seriously massaged.

I was glad when it was over and went home to dig out my own blackheads (which came out easier because of all the product.

I don't know who thinks this is a great place. Obviously not anyone who has ever had a good facial before. I am only glad my husband was unable to get me a massage at the same time.

800 Calories burned in an infrared sauna is false advertising  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

There is no physical way this is possible. I work for an infrared sauna manufacturer, and one of my friends sent me the advertisement for Sedona Spa. The most calories you can burn in a 30 minute infrared sauna session is 300 - 400, which is still great, but you need to change your wording, or show documentation.

Run, don't walk! 5 Star Rating - World class

Please see my review under Sedona Fitness... however I must also post here as well - SEDONA is the BEST!!! Ladies, listen up!! I went to Sedona last weekend for a little "pre-wedding" pampering for a bride. Everything was FANTASTIC!! From the delicious and healthy (Yes, true.) Mimosas that awaited us upon our arrival to the superbly cloud-like robes to the HOT and AMAZING infrared sauna - THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. And I'm from New York... we take our spas very seriously around here ;) The owner and "Maitre 'D" - Zane - is kind, funny, wonderful, smart, cute, and manages a 5 star operation. This is a lady who knows what women want. And this is a fabulous spa. Go, go, go!!!

Pros: incredible massage, infrared sauna, Zane - the owner
Cons: zero

This is THE place to beat. I still feel amazing! 5 Star Rating - World class

Sedona Spa is a breath of fresh air! I am serious about my me-time and my girlfiends can attest to it as we are hard core spa regulars, but lately we have all grown tired of the run of the mill service and the stiff enviroments of most of the spas we've been to in Dallas. I had never heard of Sedona, but saw they had won best massage and best facials so I booked in. They absolutely lived up to their titles - by far the best massage and facial I have ever had - plus everyone there is super relaxed and genuinely friendly. Be afraid Dallas spas - this place is the tri-fecta.

Pros: They are a Fitness Spa - you can workout there too!

Great waxes and facial to be had at Sedona! 5 Star Rating - World class

I have had a facial done by Magan and she is wonderful. She lets you know what works well for your skin. I have purchase the mask and cleaning gel from the line of product sold at Sedona. I recommended them, they have improved the overall appearence of my face. I have gotten waxes at other spas and have been burned. Magan is very careful and gentle when giving waxes. Don't miss out, have a treatment at Sedona.
