The Oceanaire Seafood Room  5 Star Rating - World class

This was one of the best seafood restaurants I've eaten at in awhile. They not only had seafood, but meat dishes as well. The calamari was one of the best I've had. Try the acorn squash.

Excellent choice 5 Star Rating - World class

I have been to the Oceanaire several times since it opened in October of 2005 and love it more each time. I am somewhat shocked at some of the comments I am reading here. For starters, I have always had excellent service. There is one manager/partner who I have seen on TV and seen quoted in the newspaper who is extremely friendly. He greets you when you arrive and will even stop by to check on you. Same thing with the executive chef; he will actually come around to the tables to make sure customers are satisfied. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The food is incredible. It is evident that every last detail is planned out. From the delicious, wide variety of oysters at the oyster bar to the infinite choices of fresh fish from around the world, you will have an amazing experience. And to everyone who complained about the price, let's be real: you get what you pay for at the Oceanaire. The pricing is very much appropriate for the quality of the food. If you can't afford it, don't go!!

Pros: food quality and variety, excellent service
Cons: NONE!

One of my favorite seafood places, just don't like the price :) 4 Star Rating - Very good

The seafood is super fresh and tasty. I love the ambiance and the service is also very good. The prices are high, and that's the only thing holding me back from giving 5 stars, but you do get what you pay for.
I will certainly return.

Pros: service, ambiance, food, good for special occasions
Cons: a little pricey

Quality pieces of seafood, prepared at average, priced at a premium 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

We have dined at Oceanaire twice now and dont find the value. The location is good, the setting is nice, the service is good but the prices are gold coast. Unfortunatly the quality of the meal for the money puts this place in the average column for WiSar.

Pros: Location
Cons: Price

Super Seafood - Super Service!! 5 Star Rating - World class

Recently transplanted from Seattle to Baltimore, I like to consider myself somewhat of a seafood connoisseur with a delight for trying new things and definitely a nose for fresh fish! For precisely these reasons, I thoroughly enjoyed eating at the Oceanaire last Wednesday.

Definitely ask for our server, Jackie she made us feel like we were the most important people there! She was very helpful in guiding us through the menu 4 of us instructing us not to over do it, especially since we planned to the next day. We split 2 appetizers: 8 oysters for the table (a tour of CT, MA, and PEI plus 2 she liked from Australia), and the red chili calamari. The oysters were great we had the saltiness and the sweet. They didnt need the cocktail or minuette sauces but those helped the less daring. The calamari must be one of their best dishes a heaping plate of tender (not chewy!) and lightly breaded calamari with a great kick of spice in the sauce and bed of veggie slaw.

For dinner, we chose to share 3 entrees, promising ourselves wed be back to try other specials soon. The signature blue crab cakes: (I had to compare them to our Alaskan King and Dungeness crabs.) They were two huge mounds of lump crab meat and hardly any breading. We were all unbelievably happy. Bigeye Tuna (sashimi style): There were two other options offered with different sauces but we wanted to know if this fish was actually flown in fresh as promised. Wow it was like butter melting your mouth! The Arctic Char: Not only a wonderful, fatty and juicy (almost salmon-like) fish but the presentation blew us away. It had been flash fried, and Jackie brings out this whole fish and then debones it at the table. Shes got skills! The fish was amazing and then with a little crunch from the crispy skin oh my gosh, so delicious!

PS - Go see Chattin at the bar if you need a break from your inlaws or just want some good company! He makes a mean Manhattan that puts you in just the right frame of mind.

Pros: Unbelievable seafood, attentive and friendly service, happy ambience, sleek/retro feel
Cons: Not really a con - just know how to make the most of your budget

An Impeccable Experience 5 Star Rating - World class

I dined at The Oceanaire Seafood Room with friends for my birthday two days ago & it was a truly memorable experience. First, my special day was commemorated with a personalized menu. The calamari is the best I've ever had and the crabcakes are to die for! My server was attentive, friendly & sincere in her service. The night was topped off with a complimentary baked alaska that was beautiful presentation. I highly recommend the oceanaire to anyone who loves great seafood and service!
