Peninsula Hot Spot for Food, Drink and Fun
  • Happy Hour 4:30-6:30 pm
  • Live Jazz on Weekends after 10
  • Wine Spectator Award Winner

Piacere means pleasure. With a full Cal Italian lounge menu including $4 Happy Hour "bar bites" and a wine list that has won the "Wine Spectator Award For Excellence" several years in a row, Piacere is decidedly not your typical Peninsula spot. From its modern facade and heated patio to its private dining rooms (equally perfect for intimate get togethers and large parties), we are a top destination for "in the know" high tech execs and area food & wine lovers- both after work and late night on weekends when live jazz is featured. Our wine tasting special events & winemaker dinners pair hard to find vintages with authentic culinary treats. Whether you sip a creative cocktail at a cozy table for two or your group takes over the semi private side lounge, we are dedicated to insuring that all your needs are satisfied.

Lovely restaurant, nice ambiance and tasty food  4 Star Rating - Very good

I recently met a friend for lunch at Piacere and really enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is comfortably upscale with patio dining options. There was a full range of lunch options from salads to paninis to entrees. I had a soup, half tuna panini, and small salad combination which was a great way to sample several different things. The food was delicious and well presented. Service was prompt, polite, and gracious. Would definitely recommend and am looking forward to having a chance to dine there again soon.

Below average, try elsewhere 2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

Thr food was uninspired and quite frankly not very good. Service was somewhere between disinterested and incompetent. Our server wanted to take our dinner order without offering to take a beverege order first or explain the specials. When asked whether there were any specials, he said something to the effect of "Oh, I'll have to go check" and disappeared for 15 minutes, still not having taken a drink order. When we finally sorted that out and got our order in we found the seared duck risotto was way overdone as was the ahi tuna. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Town or up the street to Cafe La Tosca.

Watch your belongings 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

While the food and ambience could be described as adequate, the service and service practices leave much to be desired.

On a recent date evening at Piacere, my glasses and sunglasses were left at our table.
Despite the fact that we were pretty much the last couple out, AND that we had the waiters name, neither of the items ever re-appeared. Rather the management insisted, that we lost them somewhere else - which was simply impossible.

Anyway - not an experienece to be repeated.
