I have worked for Homeview contractors for almost ten years. We do millions of dollars worth of home improvements every year. We have close to 80,000 previous customers over the last 47 years in business. Sometimes, but rarely someone can drop the ball? Our products are not made in heaven by angels but in factories by factory workers! But if there is a problem we fix it every single time! I have thousands of customers over the last 10 years and everyone is more than happy! Over 90% of our customers return and purchase other products from us! We truly love our customers and treat them as if they were family and it hurts us to see any customer not 100% completely satisfied! We have and will continue to provide the newest and most energy efficient products available. We will continue to use the best trained and qualified installers in the business and provide the up most in customer service anywhere!

Their customer service is extremely poor! They do not return phone calls, follow-up with requests or act in a professional manner!

My complaint begins with the false advertising presented at Homeview Contractor's both at the Martinsburg Home Show in March 2012. I had been interested in having an energy audit for my home for a long while, but had put it off due to the cost. While at the Home Show, my husband and I came across the Homeview booth which proudly displayed a sign stating free energy AUDITS. The man at the booth that day (Val Seaford) assured us that if we signed up that day, we would receive an energy audit. I specifically asked (because I had been researching it for some time) whether or not the audit would include a blower-test. I was assured (verbally) it would. So, we signed up. Not too long after, we received a phone call asking when would be a good time to set up our energy ANALYSIS. When I inquired about the discrepancy, (analysis vs. audit) he proceeded to "talk in circles" and claimed that the person at the booth was incorrect and we needed to first have an analysis done to see if we even needed an audit. That should have been a red flag, but, never-the-less, we agreed to have it done. The man who came to the house was pleasant, although he didn't come fully prepared for the job. He was supposed to come with a product that produces a smoke-like vapor that would help detect areas where air was entering the home. According to him, they had (supposedly) run out and were waiting for more to arrive, but he assured me that he had done so many of them that he could find the leaks without it. Yes, I guess that should have been flag #2, but at the time, I must have had blinders on. Ultimately, we had a sit down to discuss the results & a very smooth salesman convinced us that we should have some Attic Sealing done to prevent energy loss. We knew the attic was a strong source of energy loss, so we weren't opposed to it. We were further enticed, when the rep explained that an incentive program existed with the electric company wherein we would receive $1,000 back after the work was completed. I think it is also important to note (about this consultation) that the rep tried to talk us into a product called the "watt-in-a-box" which magically reduces your electric bill. After showing us a YouTube video that explained the product (which was, ironically, by Homeview)we respectfully declined. That product, by the way, is a bogus scam and is just a way for them to swindle more money from their customers. Anyway, we agreed to the attic sealing (based primarily on the refund opportunity) and set up an appointment. The process began with an initial blower-test, to be used later as a comparison against the follow-up test. The gentleman who came for this test, (who I believe was an outside contractor rather than an actual Homeview employee) was professional, polite and informative. Then it was time for the sealing. They never showed up for the first appointment, so we rescheduled and when they finally came, they were here for all of 10 minutes. The employee basically arrived with a ladder, dirty boots, and a can of STUFF that you can buy at Lowes. Had I known, I could have done that myself. We also discovered later, when hanging a new foyer fixture they missed some areas that were supposed to have been sealed. We had our follow-up blower-test on July 2, 2012 and were told that it would take 4-6 weeks to receive our refund. 8 weeks later...No Refund. So I called and spoke to Val Seaford, who informed me it would take 10-12 weeks. It's now Feb. 13, 2013 and we still don't have our refund. Numerous follow-up calls to Val were of NO help. All he would say was, "many of our customers are still waiting." When I asked for the name of the rep from the electric company, he couldn't/wouldn't provide it. He was obnoxious, abrasive & rude. Then I was passed off to Stuart who is now supposedly handling the refund issues. I have called 5 times and have not received a single return call. These are not acceptable business practices!

This was my first time working with Homeview Contractors and I must say that I am very impressed. I had read many reviews both good and bad, and had done so with the three different contractors that I had considered to install a new sliding glass door in my home. Of the three, Homeview was the only company that sent a salesman to my home who actually seemed to know what he was selling. He brought samples, discussed my concerns, and made me feel comfortable with my choice. I have read reviews that talked about "Pressure Sales" and I guess you could say that all salesmen are out to make a sale. But the pressure you feel is only the pressure you allow. I was very "Up-Front" with the salesman before he got the chance to start his pitch. Having said that, what followed was a very nice and professional presentation. I really feel I got a good product at a fair price. They were not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. I was given a time frame as to when the work would start and was given courtesy calls along the way to inform me of the day of installation. After the insallation, I have to say that all my expectations were exceeded. The door is beautiful and all timelines were met.

My wife and I had used them in the past for window installation and were satisfied, however when they recently pressured us into having foam insulation installed, all hell broke loose.

We made a deposit, cash, for the installation because they had "promised" such a quick turnaround. I took time off from work to supervise the installation and waited. They called to say their truck broke down and would have to reschedule.

Weeks went by before a sales manager called and told us they needed to take pictures of the attic first (then why did they schedule the 1st appointment?) he came out took the pictures and we rescheduled.

I took another day off and waited all day. They never showed, never called. Weeks later they call again not even apologizing but aggressively trying to get me to continue waiting on them and that it was too cold to install the insulation anyway. My wife spoke with them to get our money back and they told us that they would refund it and the check was in the mail.

A few weeks they call again saying they were sending the check to someone else with a similar name and that we can't get our money back because they have 6 months to do the job.

The funniest part was they got angry with ME because I wasn't happy with their service. Interesting customer relations.

They gave us a discount for our time and we rescheduled. No show again. I want my deposit back.

Don't use these guys.

After searching for a contractor for new windows thru service magic, I recieved 16 calls for contractors to come out. After researching the companies I decieded to let 4 come out, two of which I kicked out for lack of knowledge and fear that they were only looking for the sale not looking out for me. I was down to two, one of which had a D rating with the BBB which did'nt make me feel too comfortable and Homeview had a A-. Homeviews staff was knowledgebly and was truly looking out for the best solution, Homeview had determined that my windows were a huge loss as well as my insulation as I had about an R-8. After showing me the best possible solutions I decieded to move foward with the Preservation window system and added more insulation as well as E-Shield. What a difference!!!

While I cannot say I share the same reviews as everyone above me.I had work done by Homeview, and I am very satisfied.I would reccommend them to all my friends and family. There products are the top of the line, and the service was even better.I had a very good experience not only with my salesman, but also with the installers. After having many other nightmares with other contractors who either had inferior products or outrageous prices, I selected Homeview based on their products, knowledge, and the face they have been in business for 44 years, that says alot.

Homeview Contractors bring new meaning to the term, "incredibly rude" with what they've done to us. My husband said yes to a consultation with them about our windows and not only did they fail to make the appointment, they didn't even have the decency to call and cancel it. They just didn't show up. Then they called and my husband politely declined their services and said we were not interested. For nearly 3 weeks straight now, they've called every day, sometimes 2-3 times and always when it's time to sit down as a family and have dinner. My husband told them to please stop calling, we're not interested and they still continue to do so. Tonight they went on a whole new level of rude. They sent one of their contractors to our house in the middle of dinner. Not only did this young guy knock on our door several times, he rang our doorbell 5-6 times before we could even get to the door, causing our dog to howl and bark.
I really want to know what kind of people think this is acceptable behavior for running a business? My husband and I were furious that they would interrupt dinner with our children just to try and force us to buy their horrible services. We will NEVER give them any business especially after this.

We had to use Homeview when our previous contractor stopped selling Winchester Windows. We needed one last replacement and Homeview was the only dealer in MD. We had them cut out two old picture windows, cut the wall down to the floor and install an 8 ft slider so we could build a deck off the back of the house.
The first heavy rain after the installation, we noticed that the ceiling tile below the door had taken on water. We called Homeview, they came back and shot some caulk but several months later after another heavy sideways rain, we noticed water again and several times and ruined ceiling tiles since. Last winter we ended up having to construct a plastic tent that I had to clip to the gutters and extend away from the house to stop the leak during the heavy rains.
I will make it a point to tell anyone I ever can about how bad these clowns are at their craft. The only consolation is that I finally got them to stop calling me with solicitations when I told them they were welcome to come and fix the last job that they screwed up.
They should spend less on radio ads and try hiring some skilled laborers that don't trash houses. We are now seeking someone who will find and fix the leak. This will now be rather tricky that there is a 24ft by 16ft deck in the way. Thanks Homeview. You suck.

We met Homeview at a home expo in 2007. After having them come out to the house for an excruciating 2-3 hour long sales call, we opted not to use them for our new windows. Since then (going on 3 years now) they have called our house constantly - at least 2-3 times per week and sometimes multiple times per day. Their latest scam is to offer energy audits. High pressure sales...won't let you off the phone without hanging up on them. Like I said, don't ever give them your phone number!!! 0 stars

I get called 2-4 times a day at home and work after telling them to stop calling me. I worte them on their website to stop calling. I contacted then through Service Magic to ask them to stop calling as I hired someone else. They dont even leave messages - they ring the phone until the machine picks up and then they just hang up. I see the number on the caller ID so I know it is them. I even pick up the phone and put it down when they call and they keep calling. I am so glad I avoided these sleazy white trash losers.

"Sheldon" has been calling my house non-stop for the past 4 months or so following up on an estimate.

This company is like a leach. I would advise to NOT give them your number at any cost. I learned of this company through www.servicemagic com as a FYI. I would never put my trust in this company!

We've had two dealings with company and each time they tried to pull the exact same pricing ploy. Here's how it works: they send a salesman out to your house who will go over the service you asked about (siding, doors, windows, or whatever). They'll insist that both husband and wife be there for the sales pitch so you can't say "I need to check with my husband/wife before we sign a contract." Then you get an 30-45 minute sales pitch, which seemed fairly informative but which I don't trust because of what comes at the end. Namely, the salesman gives you a hugely inflated "estimate" and then offers to knock about 30% off if you sign up right then. When you say no (which you will if you're smart), he'll say something about still giving you a discount if you call later, but that it won't be as much because "he can't afford it." But the best part comes a few days to a week later when the company calls and says "the vice president was looking at salesman X's estimate and feels it was too high. Here's a new offer." We've gotten estimates twice from this company (once for siding and about 2 years later for a door) and they did the EXACT same thing both times (the only reason we even spoke to them the second time was that I didn't realize it was the same company until later).

Do yourself a favor: research them on Bttr Bus. Bureau (they make a big deal about having the bureau's "Torch Award" but the company owner is on the bureau's board of directors... hmmmm). We can't say anything about the quality of work because as soon as we realized what they were trying to pull, we dropped them like a hot rock, but any time you feel someone's hand in your wallet, it doesn't bode well for the rest of the relationship. If you do use this company (I wouldn't), I suggest you do your home work on what the job you want done SHOULD cost and offer to pay that. I'll bet it's far less than their salesman's "discount" or the VP's "new estimate."

I needed to have my front stoop, door and sidelight replaced. I selected Homeview Contractors, Inc.
When we signed the contract we were told that there would be an 8 week wait. It was 12 weeks and was only done that soon because at the 8 week mark my wife started calling. She was first told that the door wasn't in, but when it came in it still took another 4-5 weeks to get installed. When they installed the side light it was discovered that they ordered the wrong one. After talking to their managers, several of them for over for an hour they went ahead and installed the wrong side light and ordered the right one. It was another 2 months before the proper sidelight was installed. The door we bought was supposed to be start of the art. This door is a piece of garbage. The door and sidelight let in more wind and cold air than the door we replaced. We agree that we would not pay the last $1,000 until everything was taken care of. We have tried to set up appointments with Homeview to get them to come out and see what we are talking about. They refuse. They call every 4 months to yell and scream about getting their money but they still won't address the fact that there are problems with the door. To boot, the door was installed in a slanted manner, so the front of my house now looks askew. They called again recently threatening to take us to court. Sheldon, the owner or at least someone high on the food chain, is in my opinion a rude nasty stupid man who has no customer service skills at all and brings nothing positive to society.
DO NOT use Homeview Contractors. Even if you are desperate AVOID at all costs using this mismanaged company. They aren't worth the effort, their products stink and they don't stand behind their workmanship or contract.

Pros: There are no advantages and to wins to be had by working with Homeview Contratctors

Cons: Poor customer service, bad products, no follow up, don't stick to commitments
