When Castle replaced our windows the installer smeared caulk on our sofa. If he had said something to me I could have cleaned the water soluble caulk right away and would have been saved from damage. Castle sent someone out to my house TWICE to take pictures and REPEATEDLY PROMISED to pay for the Damage. BUT every time I called (about 5 times!) the person who needed to handle the problem was conveniently "not in" and I was told "someone would call me to 'work things out' ". THEY STILL HAVE NOT paid for the damages.

Had 20 + windows replaced in Dec 2010 and have had problems since the get go. Recently called them to fix some leaks and the tech that came out told me leaks were due to improper caulking at the time of install. The leaks caused some damage inside the house, John, who is the service manager here told me that Castle wont cover this damage because it wasn't caused by leaks. WOW! He told me to "read the warranty" Now I know that the warranty doesn't state repairs in the home-- but the repairs are a result of the leaks from the installs they did! This is a shady company and I would suggest anyone thinking of using them should reconsider. Typical method of overselling and under delivering on the product, service and warranty.

wish we hadn't spent the thousands of dollars we did and let Castle in our home, the plastic sash locks constantly break, now one of the north side windows has rusted out on the pivot point of the bottom sash and fell out on my feet, one of the large windows(48" wide) has lost it's seal and is opaque now. Lifetime warranty is BS, when I called to get service on these problems, I was told Castle no longer has anyone in North Carolina and they would transfer my warranty for a fee, So I now have windows that are worthless

I have dealt with Caste 3 times and every time its awesome. Fairly Normal as expected experience. The product is good and they installed 10 windows in one day...
I just had a Bay window put in as well. My wife had no complaints while they worked. The price was ok. I mean it was a little high but they were not the highest and the product as I understand is very TOP QUALITY. I stumbled on this site a while ago and felt I would give them a fair review from a repeat customer

The salesmen came and asked me what other estimates I have. Why that matters? don't know. but salesmen were very pushy and not friendly. AVOID Castle windows!!!!!

The "regional manager" who came to give an estimate was arrogant and belittled me and anything I said. They expect you to sign a contract on the stop and when you don't they insult you. Don't waste your time.

I had my windows installed last september. November was told that I did not need a special air conditioner sash for thr ac to fit. This june I go to put it in and it does not fit. They sent a tech out to measure and low and behold I am right. That was 6/21/11 and I was told that it would come in 2 to 4 weeks. I asked them to please put a rush on it as this was not my fault and I have medical conditions that really require the ac in hot weather. Well now it is in the 90's and I was informed today (7/15/11) that it was only ordered on 7/1/11! It could be another 2 weeks before they get it. Then they will call to make arrangements to install it! That could be in august! I have called them once a week since 6/21/11 and was assurred that it had been ordered immediately which it was not! Today when I called they called me to speak to Pat on monday maybe he would be able to tell me when I could expect it. I asked to speak to him today and was told that no matter who I spoke to they would not be able to expect to get my window! The quality of the windows seems to be great, I had lower electric bills this year and was nice and warm. I could not be happier with that I just wish that customer service was better. My sister had her windows installed by Castle and was thoroughly satisfied. Unfortunately I can not say the same!

We had windows installed in May of 2008. From that time on some leaked when there was heavy rain. We called Castle and they promptly sent someone out to take a look every time. Each time the person said we needed to maintain the windows and that they needed more caulk basically. One person at the office told us that we had never had such strong rain and any window would have leaked. This went on for three years.

Finally we got a tech from the company who decided to investigate. He poured water on one of the windws that leaked and watched as the water came into the house (as it does when it rains hard or for a long time). This got the ball rolling. He filled a report basically stating that all of the windows needed to be reinstalled. The next tech came to do the work and found that things were worse then they thought. Evidently the installer installed all 21 windows wrong. There was no insulation and the components were not installed correctly. The windows were installed in such a manner that water was actually being channeled into the house.

Finally a crew of three guys spent the whole day taking all of the windows out and installing them properly. Now I am hopeful and confident that the windows are fine.

I gave Castle three stars because of their customer support and the windows do appear to be very good. They never gave us the run around and always answered our calls and sent out a tech. However, I think that Castle assumed that the windows were originally installed properly, which they were not. We were told that the installer who installed our windows no longer work for the company. One of the tech guys said that previous tech guys should have noticed the problems with the windows--they were obviously not installed correctly. Castle just doesn't appear to be operating very effeciently even though they seem to have a good product. Since our original installer clearly didn't know what he was doing I have concerns that there are other Castle installers that don't know how to install their windows. I also have concerns that not all of their tech people are as knowledgable about the product and installation as they should be.

The windows seem good quality as we've had no problems with them with regards to mechanics. However, Castle appears to have a severe logistics problem. They don't seem to be as organized as they should be and some of their installers and technicians aren't up to par too..

Though I am happy with their customer support, I would not recommend Castle because of the way they operate. The next time I want windows I will research and try someone else.

Castle the Window People were horrible to deal with. The sales person was wonderful but after the installation it went downhill. There was a problem with the door and I called to have someone come out to fix it and just got the run around. I found the "Installation" department rude and really didn't keep good records. Next, the guy who was supposed to give us a free estimate showed up almost 2 hours early! He looked unkempt, untidy, shirt untucked, armpits sweaty. He had attitude. We only needed to replace a couple of windows in the house, so we told him we wanted the same grade windows to match the rest. He basically told us that we were crazy not to want an upgrade, that he had never heard such a nonsense, that he was amused just sitting listening to us and that he had nothing else to say to us! I am not exaggerating - those were his exact words! We ended up kicking him out as politely as we possibly could. No way we will ever deal with them or recommend them to anyone else!

I just had my new windows from "Castle" "The Window People" installed a few months ago and couldn't be happier. My husband and I had several companies come into our home and Castle had the best pricing and information for the product. We just had one of the coldest and strongest wind / snow storms I can remember and the windows help up perfect. We didn't have any drafts in any of the windows and the house stayed nice and toasty without having to crank up the heat at all. This was such a joy for a change as with our old windows we would put the heat up to 73 degrees and wrap up in extra blankets just to try to stay warm, so for that we Thank You Castle. Our salesman Frank was just great, he was so nice and really had a true knowledge of the product as well as answered all our questions and had the patience of a Saint. As far as other companies we had in, we came across some really impatient salesman and we could tell they just couldn't wait to get a signed contract and get out. Frank even took the time to call his Manager to ask him a question we had and my husband even had the opportunity to speak to the Manager and he couldn't have been more pleasant and imformative. The pricing was also very fair for what we got as it wasn't the cheapest nor was it the most expensive. I alway's try to keep in mind that you get what you pay for and these windows are worth every penny. We are looking forward to years of energy savings and are very happy with our purchase and plan on telling everyone we know about our wonderful experience with this company.

I have purchased 15 windows from Castle and they are everything my salesman Chris.. told me they would be. I love them!!!.He even sent me a thank you card with a lottry ticket. The price was right and the windows were the best, The company has been there for me at every turn. Thank you Castle and thnak you Chris.

we had a salesman come to the house, show us products and we were please and ordered. we received the wrong product, the company wouldn't solve nor work with us. i will never recommend. the installation, the doors weren't screwed to anything, we figured out later when the doors started to shift. what a nightmare...if you only knew. don't go with this company.

The salesman was very quick to show me their Better Business Bureau certificate of good standing, but he would not give me a business card or a phone number and would not give me a written quote, by fax, email or in person. He used all the typical high-pressure car salesman techniques to get me to sign the contract on the spot. He showed me a stack of contracts other people signed - probably all fake. He tried to make me feel guilty that he had to drive two hours to my house - total BS. My recommendation: STAY AWAY!

Not only did the team of installers work diligently and with much skill, but my 9 windows were installed within 7 hours from start to finish. I have never been more pleased with a home project as I am with Castle Windows 'The Window People'...Keep up the good work. Praise and congratulations to this wonderful product. The owner Rod is a wonderful accommodating person!!

Run. The worst company ever. Very poor product, not energy effiecient. Don't honor contract. Google this company. They are the worst. They DO NOT Manufacture their own windows as they claim, they simply put their name on it. Do No waste your money because you will receive nothing but junk.

Castle wasted a whole afternoon of my time, and after all refused to even give me an estimate! The salesman arrived at my home, realized that I am not the homeowner, and said he could not give me an estimate. However, I had explained that I was not the homeowner, but his appointed representative, when I first called to schedule the estimate and then again a couple hours before the salesman arrived when Castle called me to confirm the appointment, and Castle did not seem to have a problem with it then. After the salesman left, Castle contacted me, apologized for the misunderstanding and asked if they could send another rep out within the hour. I agreed. The second salesman arrived 2 hours later (with no apologies for his lateness), and proceeded to ask me point blank if I would be willing to sign a contract that day (not even a preamble of propaganda or product details). I said probably not, since I like to take time to think about things when I am going to spend $10,000 +. He then said he would not be able to give me an estimate unless I was willing to sign the contract. I asked if I were the homeowner whether he would be able to give me an estimate; he said yes. So, according to Castle, not being the homeowner poses no barrier for signing the contract, but does for obtaining an estimate. To top everything off, the salesman also managed to insinuate that I was a liar. If it is Castle??s policy not to give estimates to anyone but the property owner, I cannot argue. After spending hours and hours with several different companies looking at replacement windows, my wife and I were ready to explode. We were only interested in working with a company that had been in business more than 15 years with a established track record, (you should know the field narrows tremendously due to that requirement). We saw products we liked but hated the representative, products that were junk but the representative was better than the product and one that bored us to sleep. When Castle arrived at our door we honestly did everything we could just to get him to leave, he quickly identified our issue and did something we had yet to see, he was courteous, polite, very knowledge and dead honest. We noticed he did not make believe he worked for a perfect company nor did he hide any facts from us, it turned into a truly informative and fun experience for us. I appreciated his experience and sincerity to do what was right for us.The windows are installed now for several months and we are completely happy, did have a rip in the screen from our dog tripping the installer and his knee going through screen but it is handled now with no questions asked. We would and have recommended Castle to anyone looking for windows there is a difference in the quality of a company and product they are not all the same. If you can request get Mike Lucas if he is back in Ohio (travels to train) he is very good but more importantly he will have you in stitches the whole night.

After spending hours and hours with several different companies looking at replacement windows, my wife and I were ready to explode. We were only interested in working with a company that had been in business more than 15 years with a established track record, (you should know the field narrows tremendously due to that requirement). We saw products we liked but hated the representative, products that were junk but the representative was better than the product and one that bored us to sleep. I had all the windows in my house replaced by them. The quality and style of the windows are wonderful. The clarity is great. This will be the first winter with the windows so we will see if they provide a heating and draft decrease in the house. With their lifetime guarentee the comes with the window is ture but hard to get satisfaction. Recently we have been having leaking problems from one of the windows which was the original reason to replace them. After having them come out several times. because the intial install left our the flushing guards. It still leaked. We replaced the roofing and they recommend us to redo the siding claiming that the leak is not comming from the windows. we shall see what happens.
