MTF Relocation, Inc. is the best company out there
by John n.
MTF Relocation !!!!!!
We moved from Palo Alto, CA, and we have been seeing their trucks everywhere lately. Knowing we were going to be moving soon, we asked our buildings management people about them and it turned out that they use MTF Relocation all the time and they had an office in California. Since we were moving to Midtown West in NY it seemed like a good match. We logged on to their site and it was very informative, checked their reviews on line and their reputation seemed great, so we called, got an estimate. The move itself was just perfect. Nice, quiet, polite, hard working guys. They where even shy about asking for some water. Anyhow, our things arrived without the slightest of damage. Everything was put neatly into place and was arrive a day LESS then estimated, so we tipped the guys well. In general, a great experience with a great company.

MTF Relocation, Inc. is also "Best Local Relocation" (NOT!)
by Vara R.
Wish I had thought to look at yelp before reserving with this company. They are crooks! Halfway through loading our boxes into their truck, they tried to raise the price of our move from $480 to $1200 to deliver our goods by the previously promised same-day deadline. I made them unload our goods and leave, and by some miracle, found another company who moved us five hours later, for $600. Losing five hours on moving day was very stressful. I doubt they will voluntarily return my $100 deposit, but I am going to dispute the charge via my credit card company ...

MTF Relocation, Inc. is unethical, unprofessional
by P J.
Agree with all reviewers, this moving company is unethical, unprofessional and should be punished. I regret that I did not read these reviews before. In addition to all the troubles/hassles during the move, the movers damaged our furniture. On repeated follow-ups, they did sent paper work to settle the claim with minimum insured amount ($0.60/lb) through their claim adjuster but even after almost a year, they have not paid the claim yet. I think I need to go to court to get the money.
Would recommend to stay away from this moving company.

Crooks!
by Karen S.
Your bill will be three times what they said it would be originally. They damage everything. They say they take credit cards but then don't, but will drive you to an ATM.

Never again
by Kendra S.
This company is full of lies. We had them come in to do a "binding estimate". Nothing was binding about them. They doubled the binding estimate. Every time we turned around there was a different story. After paying thousands of extra dollars we got our stuff and so much was damaged, even rubbermaid bins were literally crushed. I will never have a company move me again. I would rather deal with the stress myself. I know have anxiety about other businesses and worry who else is going to rip me off. Please, Please, Please don't do business with them!

Beware of this SCAM!!
by Alan L.
These guys are crooks!!! They gave me a quote over the phone for $75/hr with a three hour minimum. They told me that I had to pay by credit card for the first hour to secure my appointment time. I found out later that this is illegal.
When they showed up they never gave me an actual written estimate or cost of materials. They just made me sign and initial a bunch of forms telling me that it was required before they would start. I asked them several time for copies of what I signed and a price list. They kept telling me that they would give me the estimate and the prices which they never did.
Once they got to my new location they held my belongings hostage and said that they wouldn't unload the truck until I paid them an outrageous amount. They wrote up the estimate after they got to my new place. They estimated 5 hours and even changed the times on the time bar to match 5 hours even though they never worked the five hours. They never credited me the initial $75 for the first hour. Before they unloaded the truck they flashed some sheet at me and said that was the supplies I used. They came out to some made up amount. In total I ended up having to pay $965 or I wouldn't get my stuff back. They only did a partial move that included one bedroom, a dining table, speakers, TV and a lamp with about 6 boxes that were already packed. They only traveled 7 miles.
I called several times to customer service to get copies of the forms and to question my fees. They ignored me until I told them that I was going to file a complaint wit the PUC after which they referred me to a claims company. I didn't feel comfortable talking to that company because I felt they were trying to direct my statements into only what they wanted to hear.
Needless to say, I'm filing a complaint with the CA Public Utilities Commission.
But, don't take my word for it. Check out the BBB. At the time I'm writing this they have had 34 complaints in the last 36 months and rates them Unsatisfactory. The BBB revoked their membership on 9/25/08 and they have been on suspension since 06/08 but on their website they say they are a top rated BBB accredited business. They also claim to be part of the CMSA on their website and when I spoke to the CMSA they are not member.
Do yourself a favor and avoid these guys like the plague!!!!

Very frustrated and angry customer
by Emilya A.
This was the worst service I've ever had! They delivered our stuff a week later then were promised. They said there would be no addition charges, but they requested addition money for bringing our stuff into the apartment. They add payment options are wrong: only $100 deposit is taken from the credit card and they accept only cash for the rest - smart, isn't it? All the problems rose only after the agreement was signed and the stuff was loaded into their truck.
They just are not trustworthy. I don't recommend MTF to ANYBODY.
