DO NOT GO HERE. UNTRAINED MASSEUSE! I'm injured from this attempt at a massage. The woman at the front desk was professional and nice; this was the only positive part of the experience. I go for massages regularly, from high-end 200hr spa massages to chinatown 60$/hr massages. And this was the WORST of the hundreds of massages I've gone for. I paid the special price of 93$ for an hr of deep tissue/swedish massage. I shudder to think what the full price is. The masseuse was obviously never trained and too weak to perform a deep tissue massage. Her attempt at a deep tissue massage was to put both of her knees into my back and shift from left to right across my back. I've had masseuses walk on my back or put their entire weight into pressure points, but this odd, and very untrained method was injury causing. Other than that, the masseuse sat with her legs crossed on a chair next to me and used two fingers to rub my arms... this is what a 93$/hr swedish/ deep tissue massage gets you. She also rubbed oil on back for the remainder of the session, using absolutely no pressure or her boney forearm! This was an UNTRAINED and very UNSKILLED masseuse! I SHOULD HAVE LEFT IMMEDIATELY. Finally, before I even had time to dress, she forced me to sign a paper with the tip amount I would leave. Again, uncomfortable and unprofessional. Any and all of the positive reviews left for this spa must be from management or employees. All of the negative reviews are right on point! I deserve to have my money refunded and compensation for the injuries caused.

Pros: very bad spa

Cons: untrained, injury causing masseuse

This has to be one of the most disgusting examples of a spa. As other reviews have stated, the escalators were not running, there is no dressing room and you were basically told to strip. WE SHOULD HAVE LEFT. No atmosphere at all. The shower / steam area is shared my both men and women and 'staff' had to shuffle us around when women were showering. Once we were ushered to the showers, and steam, and short chinese lady came out of nowhere as were drying off...not to mention the only bathroom was in this area...as well as a washing station for hair..what?....oh, did I mention the steam room door was falling off a hinge...and it was one of those plastic step in models...no marble here!....massage was late gettting started and therapist definitely had no training....and her nails dug into me....and yes, they do ask for a tip right after the massage....she kindly stated its usually $30. I told her to take a hike. I could not wait to get out of there....

when i spoke to make appt, i was told there is a sauna/steam room but being in the spa, i did not see it and no one told me where it is. tips were demanded before i even left the treatment room. i have never seen that. it was dirty, weird smells all around. i asked for more pressure during massage, did not get it. don't go even for spa week price, it's not worth it at all.

Pros: large screen tv's, midtown location

Cons: dirty, weird smells, bad experience

There is no private room to change your clothes. They simply ask you to strip naked, not even providing a pantie for massage service.
The masseur didn't even cut her nail and she was not skillful at all.

She even dared to ask for 20% tips while I totally felt humiliated after the service.

I would not go again even you pay me 100 bucks!

my husband took me here for a couples massage for my birthday. i was really excited upon entering the place (it was a surprise). when we got there we were directed to go downstairs via the escalator (which were not turned on). we got downstairs and the whole place was dark and there was no a/c turned on (it was 85 degrees that day). clearly, we were their first clients. ok, so we were instructed to go get changed...they manager brought me into the womens changing room, and there was 1 small bench with a wall of lockers. it didn't look particularly clean, but i just shrugged it off. i went to the restroom before going for the massage and there was a nasty insect on the counter of the sink. i was pretty grossed out. i've been to many nice spas and this was the only one i could categorize as gross. there was also some kind on stain on my husband's robe. when we got up to the private room, i noticed a lack in details when it came to the room itself. After seeing the insect, i didn't want to get into the jacuzzi. the massage was ok...i was lying face down and 10 minutes into the massage i asked the masseuse to put a bolster under my ankles...and she said, ok, later. i have no idea why, but she didn't do it for another 20 minutes or so and i was pretty uncomfortable. i just didn't think they were licensed and very professional. i definitely won't be going back.

Pros: large space, didn't rush you

Cons: cleanliness, attention to detail, language barrier

When we arrived at the spa, we changed and were escorted to our private room. Once we got into the Jacuzzi and tried to turn on the water, the facet was not working properly (it began to spray water everywhere). Then we wanted to use the steam room/shower and it was broken and could not be opened. Then, we noticed a tremendous amount of water on the floor because the Jacuzzi was leaking. We called the spa personnel to our room to see if they could rectify the situation. The manager stated that ?unfortunately the steam room/shower is broken and Jacuzzi is not working properly. But we do not have any other rooms available.? So, we suggested that we would leave and come back the following weekend in order to receive a functioning room.

We came the following weekend to find that they did not want to give us all amenities included in the package (such as Champagne, strawberries, cheeses, ect.)Since, they refused to provide us the included amenities, we politely asked them for a refund. They refused, stating that since we already walked into the room they will not give us a refund. They did not provide us the Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage (60min), Essential Facial (60min), or a properly working private room.

My boyfriend and I went there because I wanted to thank him for being so wonderful. OMG I swear it was the best idea ever. He absolutely loved and I was practically speechless. It's such a great luxury and a nice escape from everything. When we left, we forgot where we were. It was like being in a completely different world. The people there were so nice and paid attention to small details. We did not feel rushed at all and we were both COMPLETELY relaxed. I cant wait to go back again.

I'm a guy who has been going to various spas for about a year now. They seem to be getting more popular with men now though it's still a challenge to find one where a man can feel comfortable. Many seem like nail, hair or facial salons designed mainly for women and I feel like I'm intruding. This spa truly caters to both men and women. There is a large comfortable lounge with several flat screen TVs and giant easy chairs where both can relax with a beverage without feeling crowded. The men's locker room has several large, clean showers as well as a steam and sauna room. Massage facilities are excellent. Large hardwood tables are in rooms swathed in frosted glass. Towels are plush, fresh and clean and are not spared during body work. Body scrubs and wraps are upstairs in private rooms, complete with private shower/steam and whirlpool bath. I've always been very happy with the quality of the massages, scrubs and wraps I've had. It takes awhile to get used to being closely waited on and pampered by staff, but I'm getting used to it.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Impeccable facilities with attention to the most minute of details.

Alan and rest of staff were so accomodating. In celebration of our 18th anniversary we booked the VIP couple package and were so happy that we did. Can't remember a more relaxing time. The staff didn't make us feel rushed in anyway, in fact, they encouraged us to stay as long as we wished. I have been to more than a few spas in the city and this is the first place where I have not felt that the therapists or staff were watching the clock. We had dinner reservations later that evening, otherwise we would have stayed longer. Still we spent a relaxing 4 hours at Homme Spa and enjoyed every minute!

Massages were top notch and the champagne was such a nice touch. Well done!! Will tell everyone about Homme Spa and am looking forward to booking next year's get away.
Hope Alan and the rest of the staff find much success at this hidden gem!

I feel compelled to write this review after an amazing experience here during Spa week for my friend and I. I chose the hot towel deep tissue massage done by the manager Allan and it was exactly what I've always been looking for in a massage. It was the perfect combination of strokes, deep pressure points and focus in on the really tense parts of my back and body. He seemed to know exactly where I was tense and sore and worked extra hard on those areas. And the hot towels!! An unbelievable addition to the massage, as they were carefully placed on your body and then massage over. The music, very dim lighting and the fact that he wasn't trying to converse while he was working was perfectly calming. I was so completely calm and in full body relaxation afterwards. I told my friend how great my massage was (she started with a facial that was great) and so she went for the massage as well! I chose to add on the Foot Reflexology, which was done while still sitting in the lounge chair. Again, great, great massage, this time done by Vivian.
The facilities were great, and we felt comfortable relaxing and spending over 4 hours there. We took advantage of the steam room and sauna, and were served hot tea, strawberries, cheesecake and bottled water. The staff was very friendly, skilled, knowledgeable, encouraged you to take your time relaxing and didn't bother you too much. You felt worlds away from bustling Midtown, and it seems like a well hidden spot! Even though we got the spa week price ($50) for each service, we both agreed the services were worth their full price and we will definitely go back be back here again for our next spa day!

I surprised my boyfriend for Valentine's Day with a mani/pedi and massage after I had seen a write-up about Homme in TONY. At the last minute, I decided to get the same package. I added on waxing to my treatment. LADIES...this spa is definitely for men. There is only one locker room with a sauna, steam room and showers and that is for men only. The women are sent to a hallway where there are lockers to change. However, they did a pretty good mani/pedi and the girl did a good job with waxing. We also got a couples massage. My boyfriend loved his massage but I did not. The great thing about this spa is that men can feel totally comfortable. They have flat screen tvs in the huge mani/pedi room that play sports channels all the time. They do not rush you out. You can relax all you want. All in all, I would say this is a great place to send your boyfriend for a treatment but it is not for the girls.

Pros: good prices, great for men

Cons: spa was freezing, not for ladies

.

Pros:
GIGANTIC SPACE!!!!! Absolutely huge, I've never seen such a large spa anywhere. The relaxation lounge / manicure-pedicure area was nice with large flat-screen TVs, and the option to have any massage turn into a side-by-side was nice too (especially for Spa Week!). Massage was good even tho the therapists did not seem licensed. Friendly (albeit a little bit too friendly) management.

Cons:
The receptionist was not there at the front lobby when we first got there, and there was a random older lady standing around the far end of the lobby just staring at us.

We got there about an hour ahead of schedule, and instead of letting us just relax and wait for our massages (there was plenty of room in the relaxation lounge, they didn't need to hurry us along), the management kept on coming over to apologize. We kept on telling him "we're fine! it's great, we're fine!", he kept on coming over to ask us if we're ok. I know the place is Chinese owned and managed and I've been living in China for the past few years so I know that's how they operate... but I wish he'll take the hint that we just wanted to be left alone!

The model girl who waited on clients in the relaxation lounge may be lovely to some male clients, but I found it to be EXTREMELY tacky and inappropriate. Not only was she wearing thick makeup with her hair down, she had on this very tight Chinese dress (a cheap cheongsam) with VERY high kick-slits. It would be ok and not offensive if she had a professional, all-black outfit with her hair up, because last night, it felt like we were served water and tea by a street walker.

That and the lady's locker room was cold, florescent-lit, and unwelcoming. It was also separated from the men's locker room by a screen that had duct tape on it, I could hear everything going on in the next door.

Bottom line:
Decent service and DEFINITELY just for men. If you're a woman seeking good service for that price without the tacky feel, try Oasis on Park.

I surprised my girlfriend for her birthday when I took her to this spa. I have never seem a spa as big as this. We were escorted by a beautiful hostess the minute we arrived into a VIP Couple Room. The hot tub was filled with flower petals, milk powder, and other ingredients that I forgot, and there was a dual sit-in steam room. We spent 45 minutes of private time in the room first. We then had a massage and a body treatment. We were served lunch and a bottle of champagne after that. The last treatment we had was a manicure and pedicure which was done in the lounge with big comfy sofas and plasma TVs. They had hostesses serving us throughout the whole time. The whole staff was very attentive. We then went back to the Private Room where we spent another half an hour. They surprised my girlfriend by bringing a birthday cake, chocolate covered strawberries, and a gift for her. We spent 5 unbelievable hours at the spa! The service was impeccable! Being a spa junkie, this is definitely the best spa that I've been to.

I was on my way home from work when I was handed a flyer just outside Grand Central Station. I was told the spa was only 3 blocks away, so I decided to check it out. I enter the facilty and was escorted down escalators by a beautiful hostess. To my surprise, the spa was so spacious. The staff was friendly and service was fanastic! My massage was just what I needed after a long weekend in the Hamptons. I've gone back twice already!

I tried this mens spa out two weeks ago and find myself addicticted to the place. First off, it's massive! They say it's 15000 sq ft. Then you take escalators down to this mens only section where you are immediately greeted by gorgeous women who cater to you. I shouldn't even have to say more! In fact, I won't. Except that nothing in the city comes close to this. Check out the couples lounge with your girl too. Good times for sure!
