Oily food with random spices. Seems like their mantra is, add a lot of butter, cream, oil, and anything tastes good.\r

Great for someone who doesn't know indian food well, to try something exotic. this food is offensive, only bettered

Indian is my current favorite ethnic food. Because I am relatively picky I do not like a lot of the Indian restaurants in town. Too often they are too mild or everything just tastes alike. Roiti is a pleasant surprise. We??ve eaten there several times and it always is good. The naan is fresh and their raita is not always the same. One time it had flavorful chickpea balls in it. This was a wonderful surprise.

For a couple of years now this continues to be our favorite Indian restaurant in town. Every dish we've tried (and that is a lot) was beautifully seasoned and fresh. The interior decor is a little stereotypical, but that doesn't stop you from having a fantastic meal here. Great service and great prices make your trip even sweeter.

When I first ate food at this place, the food was great! It was a la carte and the food was very authentic, flavorful and nice. The next time, I tried their lunch buffet. It was extremely mediocre and people (guests) were not too hygienic when they handled it. I saw one person, eat a little of his plate as he was serving himself. Not that we can blame the restaurant for it.
But again, I would re-emphasize that their a la carte is great and I am a huge fan of their spinach naan (the best you can get in Seattle).

Get it? The joke is funnier than our food which was salty and lacking much substance. You can't get much for your money here either and you may leave hungry.

I have taken my family to Roti several times. I have recommended Roti to friends too. The decor is great and the food is wonderful. We drive over an hour to eat here. The atmosphere is spectacular and the service is above par. The naan is great to us and the mango dishes are mouth watering. I have nothing but great things to say about Roti. If you want good Indian food, Roti is the place to go.

Serve was fine, I was seated promptly, but no one asked if I had ever been there before. I had to ask about the buffet. The naan was rubber the other dishes were all over cooked. I kept trying things hoping I would like something; I did like the mango pudding. If you want really good naan, serves and outstanding food go to Naan-n-Curry in Renton, it is truly amazing!

I've been here dozens of times, and I must say that this is THE BEST indian food I've ever had, hands down. I usually always get the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, paneer chilli, fish pakora, samosas, and finally the mango lassi. Also the buffet comes with GREAT selection, all to die for. I always leave Roti Indian Cuisine stuffed and happy, leaving the best taste in my mouth.
It is deff worth a try, leaving you to become a daily costumer (speaking from experience!)

My husband and I were so happy to finally find good Indian food in Seattle.
Coming from Vancouver, B.C. we know what it should taste like.
Roti had a very good buffet selection and the food was fresh. Service was efficient and polite and the prices were very reasonable. Additionally the decor, music and lighting provided a very nice ambience.

$8.50 with tax for nice Indian spread at lunch. I like mine with more heat but the food was yummy. I always order the same when going to Indian so the buffet gave chance to try other dishes. The buffet had tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala and some ground chicken with peas dish plus four or five vegetarian options then rice and naan. Also a little salad/dessert bar but didn't try that. My friend thought the chicken pieces were a little big in the Tikka Masala but the chicken was very tender and not at all fatty or junk meat. You could really taste the flavor. Naan was pretty good for cooking in big batches and keeping under a heat lamp. I still love fresh out of the oven naan the best!

We got there at 12:30 and hardly a seat to spare! The waiter kept the tables clean and a bonus - left a pitcher of water on each table! This was great since my complaint almost anywhere is water glasses aren't kept full. The decor was cool, looked like something from Vegas. Will go back, my husband would enjoy.

I continue to bring my friends and tell them to eat here, and my friends have never been disapointed. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Kohli are very nice and personal. I always feel welcomed. I just found out they are posibly opening another location in Bellevue! This is awesome news since I live on the East side. I feel like the lady from the Mervynn's comercial - "OPEN, OPEN, OPEN". Roti also has the tastiest Indian rice I have had. Thank you for the great food Roti! I will be back again!

This place servers the best North Indian food in Seattle. Infact it is one of the best Indian Restuarants in the USA. Being an Indian I can say that it is authnetic Indian food. Feels like I am eating back home. Highly recommended for anyone who likes or wants to try Indian food. Kababs are great and so is Chicken Tikka Masala :)

Whenever I go into this restaurant, I feel like I've entered another world. It's relaxing and slow, atypical of Queen Anne. The food is delicious, even though sometimes it takes awhile to get your order. My favorites are Tandoori chicken and the lamb dishes. I also get an order of the Garlic Naan. The food is very flavorable, and the wait staff is pleasant.

My wife and I split the saag and tikka masala. The naan was the best we have ever had (we have eaten at many Indian restaurants around the country) and the dishes were full of flavor. Also, the decor accentuates the food, making the entire dining experience completely delightful. We will definately be returning to this restaurant and city in the future.

I love Indian food- it is my favorite type of cuisine. Ive been on a mission to find a great Indian restaurant in Seattle for quite some time now. Going by folks recommendations I was told time and time again to try out the "Taste of India" in the Udistrict. I went and was sorely dissappointed. I almost gave up, settling on the idea that Seattle was not a city that could do Indian cuisine well. Alas, I came upon "Roti" in Queen Anne- incredible! The tandoori chicken is the best Ive had in my lifetime. Perfectly moist and flavorful also generous in portion. Everything Ive tried...from lamb to salmon have trumped my expectations. This is a place I look forward to reviewing more thuroughly for my site ( Cheriepicked).

This is hands down the best indian food in Seattle. Every single thing we've tried here - and we've tried a lot - has been absolutely delicious & full of flavor. Also, if you ask them to make your food spicy they will actually do it.

We've always experienced excellent service - the hostess and waitresses are very friendly and polite. The restaurant is always full of neighborhood patrons which is a testament to how great it is. We love Roti!

My wife and I were looking forward to going to Roti because it looked like it had really good potential. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. The room was about 2/3 full but it was very warm and stuffy inside. With every sizzling platter they served, the room got even stuffier. My wife ordered wine, which they forgot to bring to the table. We noticed other people who had arrived after us were already drinking the drinks they'd ordered. When I asked the host about it he didn't apologize. What he said insinuated that we just hadn't waited long enough, but her wine showed up right after I asked about it. The onion naan we ordered was more soggy than fresh. I got a dish that was similar to lamb korma. The meat was very tough. It was also not very flavorful lamb. My wife got a shrimp dish in a white sauce that she didn't really care for. A couple times throughout the meal, our small table kept filling up with plates, glasses, a naan basket, a basket for the complimentary hard cracker thing they give, etc. and we were running out of room on the table for eating our entrees. The girl who was tasked with filling water glasses didn't really want to bother with it when we asked about it (yeah, we had to ask them to clear the table), so we were left to stack things up on top of each other. At the end of the meal we were asked 3 times by 2 people whether we wanted our food wrapped up to which we answered "no" every time because the food was so bad (and I left at least half of what I ordered because it was so tasteless). When the guy came with the check he held the check out for one of us to grab rather than clearing the table off and putting the check down on the table --even though we'd told him we didn't want to save anything on the table. Tonight I noticed that they charged my card a small sum more than I'd indicated on the receipt. Bad place. Stay away.

P.S. What's with the ugly spray-painted ceiling?

Ok the other people who reccommended this restaurant must not have ever had good indian food because this place was absolutely terrible. I am Indian by origin and know what good indian food tastes like and this is definatley not it. When we first walked in there was a woman sitting there with her feet up on a sofa and shoes off.... How unprofessional is that!!!!!!! And it only went downhill from there. We ordered Butter Chicken which had no spicyness or taste at all. It was extremely bland and tasteless!!!! I still have not found a good Indian restaurant in Seattle and continue to look after my experience here!!!!!

My girlfriend and I moved to Seattle from the East coast a bit over 3 years ago and since we've found Roti, it's been our favorite restaurant.
Until then, I'd been roundly disappointed with Seattle Indian restaurants. Chutneys was overpriced and lacked delicately balanced flavors.

India Express on Broadway used to be my favorite delivery joint, but since they changed owners, it just hasn't been the same.

I tried Cedars in the U-dist upon some recommendations and had been dissapointed by the blandness. Others I'd tried were so far beyond bland or average that I don't even consider mentioning them.

I agree with other reviewers here, the Chicken Tikka is amazing, but everything I've had at Roti has been so good, I have to force myself to try something new each time. Service is wonderful. It makes me hungry just thinking about it. Yum.

We had a very bad experience at Roti. We found a long hair in the curry, when we showed it to the owner, his response was as if no big deal - and said it can happen! We had to ask for replacement dish and we were charged for the one dish. Had this unfortunate incident happened at any other place, they would have apolgized promptly, provided new dish of their own and would not have charged for that item.

I love everything abt food. There are very few indian restaurants which can make good indian food like Roti. Little high on grease but oh well!!!. I have tried Kanishka, Haveli, shamiana, Mayuri, Chutneys, Cedars, India Gate, Taj palace and this one just stands out. One of the best for North Indian food and the hostess is pretty hospitable.

This was only my 2nd time eating Indian food in my life. The hostess made me feel immedietly welcome and at home. The waitress was equally kind, and the owner recognized my sister from previous visits and struck up a conversation with her like she was an old friend.

I played it safe and got chicken tikka masala since previous reviewers judged it the best in town. It was absolutely delicious! The sauce is to die for. The garlic naan was good too with the sauces they bring out w/your pre-appetizer (a sort of cracker/flatbread i don't remember the name of it) or dipped in the tikka sauce. The portions were a perfect size, didn't have to worry about taking leftovers w/me for our night on the town. Overall, highly reccomended to everyone!

The lunch buffet here is the best in town. They always have many yummy options to choose from - not just two or three, but 4 or more main dishes, endless tandoor chicken, fresh naan, two cold salads and dessert. I think they have the best chicken tikka masala in town. Have that with some fried onions, naan, and a drizzle of papaya sauce - and expect to need a nap by 2pm. The other bonus is that the staff is warm, friendly and genuinely nice to patrons.

One of the nicer Indian restaurants in the Seattle area. Menu has a little more than the usual Indian suspects. I played it safe though and stuck with the known - the eggplant bharta was excellent...the thinly slivered ginger on top complemented the smoky flavor perfectly. Rotis were fresh and piping hot. The quality of the condiments (chutneys, raita) was good. The chef made a tarka daal especially for us. The mint kabab wasn't very minty and looked very green :) But small nit in an otherwise great meal.

Roti is, after much hunting and searching, one of the few Indian places I'll go to in Seattle repeatedly. Their mango lassi is really good -- they seem to use fresh mangoes instead of the terrible canned mango lassi you'll get at pretty much every other place in town.
Enough about that.
They don't have this on the menu: the paneer chilli (they have only the chicken chilli available as a starter), but its an awesome dish, and the chef will specially prepare it for you!
The rest of the food is also prepared fresh for you, and you can taste the flavor and freshness.
Having said all that, I've definitely been to better Indian places in the U.S., but I guess I have to settle for 2nd best in seattle :(

The was a very good place to take the family and friends, I highly recommend it to anyone who likes true quality Indian food, or just an excellent dining experience.
