Absolutely the most disgraceful, unprofessional and waste of time I have ever been to in my life. Everything at first seemed awesome bringing my dog here for her shots and so I continued to bring her here even though they were a little pricey. We then had to get her spayed and of course we chose this location to do the procedure. After the surgery they placed staples in her stomach. They told us we had to return 1 1/2 weeks later to remove them. We did and everything seemed fine. About 2 weeks later my dog started to break out in a really bad rash all around where the incision was. We brought her back to the vet concerned and come to find out they left a staple inside of her. They said they removed it and checked for anymore but did not see anything and gave her medicine to heal the infection. Everything healed up and looked good or so we thought until about 2 months after they found the staple they left in she broke out in an even worse rash along where the incision was so we brought her back in. (Now keep in mind she never licked the area, I applied neosporin daily and hot compresses to advance the healing process as advised by the vet). When we brought her back in they did an xray on her to see if anything was in the incision. and OF FRIGGEN COURSE they found 2 more staples that they had forgotten to take out 2 1/2 months prior when this all should have been taken care of. of course I was extremely upset because my baby girl could have gotten extremely ill from that. NOW TODAY I go up there to get her monthly heart guard and front line as I do every month. They give it to us, I bring it home and open the package to feed her the heartguard. I just so happened to look at it before I gave it to her and they gave her a heart gaurd meant for a dog 25 to 50lbs. Now I have an 80lb german shepherd. I called them and they said "Oh its our fault we apologize we didn't look before we grabbed it. Come on up and get the right medicine". Of course its your fault who elses would it be. And dont you read your charts and medicines before you give them to patients. OF COURSE NOT! So I drive back up there to get the RIGHT medicine and they charge me the overage of $2. I said can't you not charge me it is your fault I got the wrong one and your fault I had to drive all the way back up here. They said there was nothing they could do. So I paid, said I am never coming back here and left. HORRIBLE customer service, horrible medical staff, and just and all around bad veterinarian! I am switching vets next month and I suggest anyone who goes here do the same! My rant is over thanks for reading :)

We began using this CCVH about 7 years ago when one of our dogs ingested some Rx medication. Mistaking the practice for a 24 hour emergency service, we arrived 45 minutes before their scheduled opening. Without blinking, the techs that was already in the building began treating my dog and called a vet in early. my dog's life was saved and CCVH became our regular vet since then. I continue to be very pleased with the service we receive. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful at all times toward every person and every pet. From what I can see, there is a very low turn over in staff. Many of the vets have worked there a very long time. The practice supports a number of animal charities and I particularly appreciate that they embrace my bully breed dogs.

I began taking my dog to Columbus Central Veterinary in April of this year for his annual shots. They seemed great then...just a simple and quick in and out visit for his shots. Overpriced, but it seemed to be worth it considering they had an emergency clinic and they were only 5 minutes from my house. Until a few weeks ago, my dog cut his paw pad outside on a piece of glass and we immediately rushed him to the vet. As soon as we got there, one of the techs carried him to the back while we had to wait in the waiting room wondering what was going on. I felt so uneasy about not going to the back with him but I figured it was standard procedure. The vet then told us that she would have to suture his paw pad. My boyfriend and I both found this odd considering the wound was not a laceration but an abrasion. How do you suture an abrasion? But we put our trust into them and let them suture his paw. He came out about 45 minutes later still under anesthesia which was very hard for me to see. They all found it amusing that he was running into walls and falling down and kept giggling. I've never seen anything like that and it broke my heart. I expected them to be a bit more compassionate. We were to go back in a week for a bandage change and his first check up. After the first bandage change, my dog chewed his bandage off while we were at work. When we got home and saw, it looked as if his paw had never been sutured in the first place. We wrapped his paw and made another appointment to take him back. When we went back, our appointment was at 8 pm. They didn't take us in until 9:30. They took our dog and about 20 minutes later the tech came out to tell us they'd have to re suture his paw. Keep in mind, this was 5 days after he chewed the bandage off. Once a wound is open for 24 hours you aren't supposed to re suture it because it has already started healing. Why did they want to re suture my dog's paw? So we asked to speak with the vet. The tech took us into an exam room where we waited for 40 minutes all the while listening to the vet and the techs talk in the hallway. Talking and laughing and joking as if they had nothing to do. After the 40 minutes, we left. I made an appointment at another vet and when I took my dog there, she explained that she never sutures paw pads because the minute the dog puts weight down on that leg, the stitches pop right out. She wrapped his paw and told us we could re wrap it ourselves every 5-7 days. So, not only did Columbus Vet suture something they should have known wasn't meant to be sutured, but they wanted to do it a second time 5 days after the stitches came out...once the wound was already healing on it's own. I believe that they saw how vulnerable and young I was and knew that they could convince me that I would need to spend all this money for my dog to heal. It has been a week since our last visit to them and his paw is healing beautifully. I would not recommend Columbus Veterinary to anyone. They are not in the business for the pets, they are clearly only in it for the money.

I recently had to have my Dog dallas put down due to health issues 7/3/2011 , Dr Boden and the entire staff were warm, receptive and above all , compassionate. The dignity and love they showed my Dallas and my husband and I will NEVER be forgotten , THANK YOU .

I noticed my dog acting sickly, my local Vet in Medford had no clue, or modern equipment to find out. I went to Columbus Vet Hospital and my dog was seen by Dr. Bowden as an emergency. He was diagnosed immediately by Dr. Bowden. Since that time, all of my precious four legged family members see Dr. Bowden and some other doc's there for everything. It is worth the time(be patient for an emergency) to be there in a true caring enviornment for the healthy check up's as well as care for the occasional problems. They also have equipment like xrays, which the Vet in Medford never had, and missed inportant problems which would have alerted us to issues immediately.

I've used this vet for the last 9 years for my 4 inside pets and the 2 outsideferal cats I take care of. The veterinarians themselves have always been very helpful and available for questions - either during the actual visit, or later via phone. The vets actually call me themselves (as opposed to the front desk staff) to give me tast results and updates when my pets have to stay there. The front desk staff are always friendly and willing to give me updates as well - they even actually go to the back to look at the animal to give an actual update, rather than just reading the chart.\r\nMy animals have multiple serious health issues (urinary blockages and diabetes) and Drs. Boden, Stephan, and Antas have been extraordinarily caring and thorough when examining and treating my animals. I've only dealt with Dr. Redlus once, his bedside manner could be better, however he's very skilled for the complex operation my cat needed. \r\nI was even able to bring in 1 of my feral cats and Dr. Boden agreed to take a look at the cat and treat her, fully understanding the limitations we'd have in giving chronic medications to an outside cat, but still working with us to help us give this cat the best medical care we could.\r\nThe front desk staff has turned over a lot, but I've noticed that they've held on to the really good people, and the ones I thought could use improvement are no longer there.\r\nI really have no complaints about this vet, they've always come through for me when I've needed it.

Pros: Generous office hours, 24 hr emergency service

Cons: Sometimes long waits

My neighbor told me about columbus vet, and after you hear what I have to say, I hope they get shut down.\n\nNot only is the place gross, the rooms are horrible. You can hear everything everyone is saying, and I mean everything. They don't seem up to date with anything.\nThe walls are so thin, I can hear everything everyone was saying! Cursing about clients, about their pets. They were saying how they can't stand some of the people. \nSomebody was even talking about not having licenses to do what they do. \nThat concerned me VERY much. I read in the paper a month ago about how A vet place got shut down because there technicians weren't licensed. \nThey do all this work on your pet, and I don't think they are licensed. WOULD YOU WANT TO GO TO A HOSPITAL AND BE TAKEN CARE OF SOMEONE WHO HAS NO LICENSE, basically just guessing what they do? I THINK NOT.\n\nI WILL BE BACK, AND IF I DON""T SEE AN IMPROVEMENT THE POLICE WILL BE INVOLVED!

I have taken my dogs here for the past ten plus years. The vet and staff have always been very concerned and caring. I recently had to euthanize one of my dogs and the vet came out to the car. They are very supportive and sympathetic.

Whoever wrote those bad reviews must not have went to this vet! They must not know how to read (because they obviously can't write or spell!) and are thinking of a different veterinary clinic when they wrote that. I have been using this facility for all of my animals for over 10 years now and I would never even think of going somewhere else. These people treat your animals as if they were their own! You get to recieve updates on your animals and visit them if they have to stay at the hospital. I went to visit my dog after a critical surgery he had and while I was in the back, those animals were recieving better care than what I see in human hospitals!! Also this hospital is one of the few around that has an overnight technician there to care for all the animals unlike other places that leave your animals there unsupervised over the night (like my last vet). Their hours are very convenient, I am a professional myself and it is hard for me to find time to get things done, but they have weekend appointments which are great. Also I noticed this practice seems to never turn anyone away, no matter what kind of difficulties the clients may have. I overheard the one receptionist telling a distressed client about care credit and consoling her that her pet would be taken care of and they were going to work something out for her. There is not one other practice that does that around here, you want to know why? Because all other practices only care about your money and not your pet! I highly recommend this veterinary clinic to all of my friends and family because they have always been there for me when I needed them! Thanks guys!

Pros: Everyone there is very educated and knowledgeable

Cons: There is a wait sometimes due to emergencies

What can I say? There was no waiting and the service cost exactly what they quoted. They took my champion sired show dog and took care of him as a highly prized member of my family. They were quick and I was even able to schedule an appointment on a Sunday in the middle of the afternoon. Try that elsewhere.\r\n\r\nFor all those who can't write, but yet bash these professionals in their reviews, I say to you that it is untrue. I have been to other vets and I can ASSURE YOU that you will be charged double what Columbus charges you, and you constantly have to fight with them over useless procedures, tests and immunizations that are mercilessly pushed.\r\n\r\nI can't tell you how many times I have heard from other Vets that they want to castrate my dog which is extremely rare. Every time you walk in, it is the same idiotic comment.\r\n\r\nThe office is clean and the people are friendly. First rate people and care. They get it......others don't. If you want to go elsewhere, then fine. Take your broken english, a bunch of cash and have at it.

I was informed about thel lab work after surgery and not before. She got worse, and after taking her to another vet was informed that based on the lab work the surgery should have never been done, and i lost my beloved less than A WEEK LATER DUE TO THEIR NEGLECT.

...once when my vet was closed for vacation. It would be so much more wonderful if the vet was still 24 hours. We did have to wait a bit, but probably really not too long and just because I was so anxious to have my dog seen. There is a huge lobby and tvs to watch, and the vet was nice and helpful.

We have used CCVH for over fourteen years. The care we have received for our pets has always been excellent. We were glad they were there in an emergency, understanding there was a higher cost for the service. The doctors were always caring and we never felt rushed. When the need came to make hard decisions they guided us gently. The procedure of putting our pets to sleep was well thought out and helped ease our pain. We highly recommend this hospital.

I have used CCVH for almost 2 years now. Generally friendly, I have come to realize that these people are driven primarily by their love of profits --and not your pet's heath and well-being. If your pet has an emergency, they will squeeze you in--but, oh boy, do they then squeeze your pocket book too! Even when you have a pre-set appointment with them, be prepared to wait for upto an hour-- for a visit that will then last no longer than 10-15 minutes (this has happened to me every time). They hate it if you want the convenience of buying the required monthly pet medications on-line for a fraction of the price they charge for you to go and pick it up there! And if the medication you're buying on-line requires a vet's prescription (a simple matter), they will drive you crazy--so, plan in advance if you plan to NOT buy from them the regular stuff. Know you pet laws--go to: the New Jersey State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners web site, and do your research. You should also check out other vet prices and services in your area, and see how they compare with CCVH, because the chances are that, that will save you money, time-- and your sanity!\r\n\r\n
