Charlie Mopps Public House

Has awesome list of drafts and bottles, and they make pretty good cocktails too. The food is what separates it from other bars in the area. Bleu cheese chips are awesome, as are the fried green beans. The burgers are huge and juicy and even the fried ribs are good (I was drunk at the time, though).

Pros: Great beer selection and barfood

Cons: Sometimes music is pretty bad

This is a very good bar. The people are nice, the food is good and the prices are excellent. In the days of higer food prices, they keep it real.

This bar is just not really a bar. It is so much more. The food, the ambience, etc. The happy hour specials are excellent.

My girlfriend and I just visted there and we were both pleasantly suprised by the atmosphere of Charlie's. It has something for everyone; games, food, darts, lounging, hot tenders, tons of beer, and a front porch. I especially liked the set-up in the front; a small bar feel in a big bar setting. I just moved to Sandy Springs and had been making the rounds at the local pubs when I found CM. The beer selection is amazing and the food is far better than average bar food. The live music has been great each time I've been there. Check the weekly line up. Charlie Wooton Project was great if you like a funky groove New Orleans style. Sat was an awsome blues band (sorry i forgot the name) and on Sundays it's Swami gone Bananas, a really good psydellic rock band. Also the music playing in CM (not live) has always been right up my alley. So if you like tons of beer choices and great music, i definately recommend CM. see ya there

A great place in sandy springs to get a beer and possibly among the best in Atlanta. Great selection on tap and bottle plus lots of high gravity selections. good atmosphere.

As a Pittsburgh native and Die Hard Steelers Fan, I was so excited to find Charlie Mopps, where tons of Steeler fans gather on game days! Now, my boyfriend and I got to CM's at least once or twice a week whether the Steelers are playing or not! The beer selection is obviously their specialty, and its really fun to try new beers everytime we go, but the service is also awesome (everyone is really friendly and knowledgeable about the vast beer selection) and the food is so yummy! They offer the standard bar fare (chicken wings, burgers, etc.) but they also have some delicious salads and sammys and their trademark fried green beans! They are completely addictive. My faves are the Mushroom Swiss burger and the Heart Healthy salad. Its definately a great place to try if you're in the mood to sit and mingle while sampling beers from around the world and munching on great food. Their Trivia nights are great too- especially the Family Feud night (which used to be Friday, but it changes...). There aren't many quality spots in Sandy Springs, but Charlie Mopps has all the components of a great hangout.

Pros: Great Food, Hugh Beer Selection, Steelers fans!

Cons: It gets pretty smokey on weekend nights, but it IS a bar...

Been going to Charlie Mopps for a little while now and everytime I go there is new beers to choose from and plenty to choose from. Another great thing about Charlie Mopps is the food menu. A lot to choose from and is very good qulaity.

We finally decided to stop into this place one Saturday afternoon with the kids. And boy, was it loud. The menu was the regular burgers, fries, and wings. But it was way too loud with blaring jukebox music. It reminded us of some of the places we used to go to in Athens. I guess it's o.k. if you are single and looking for a hook-up. We really miss the old Friday's at The Prado. Hopefully this area is making a comeback. Large beer selection. O.K. service!

Pros: O,K. For Burgers & Beers! Not For Families!

Normally I am a review reader, not writer, but I had to comment on the painful stupidity of the below review. Citysearch's very own website clearly states that this is not a place for kids, so why bring them here, why bring them to a bar anywhere?? I have a son, he is 11, but I don't take him out to bars. I am a good parent. I stop by here about two to three times a week to avoid traffic, I work near here and have been frequenting this location since it was a Taco Mac. They have the best beer selection in Atlanta, and the fried green beans are to die for. And no, it is not kid friendly, but what bars are? The staff has always been great and they have done an amazing job transforming the inside after they took over from the previous owners. I highly recommend Mopps, but isn't for your TGI Fridays/Applebee's lovers, the place has some character.

We finally made it up to Mopp's for a cold one after a day at Perimeter Mall. Fun crowd, cold beer, nice patio, but something is missing. Maybe we are just spoiled by the longtime joints ITP. We read several five star reviews, but after a little checking, they were all one time reviews, we suspect were written by employees. It's O.K. if you are in the area! Better jukeboxes are found intown, all up and down colorful Ponce de Leon!

My wife and I had been going to this place for years when it used to be called Summit's Tavern. The new owners have made this great little place even greater. New big screen TVs, awesome beer selection, great bartenders and wait staff, and great food, (you must try the fried green beans) make this place the best little bar in Sandy Springs. I highly recommend!!

I love the Mopp! I must because I spend all my time there! The staff is absolutely awesome, everyone is so friendly, which can be hard to find in a big city. Besides the staff being the best, there are like over 90 draft beers on the wall to choose from.....boy the decisions we have to make sometimes. My fav night at CM is "Family Feud" on saturday nights.....I challenge anyone!!!!:) By the way...did I say how awesome the staff was?!

WE LOVE CM! They have the best beer selection like over 200! With all the TV/Sports you can hande. They even have an internet jukebox and free WIFI. The staff rocks too! Sam and Susie

Everytime I have been to Charlie Mopps, they have had the game on I wanted to watch or would at least change it for me. The crowd is cool and there are many, many beers to choose from. Good beers! I'll be back!

They have the best beer list in town. And the place has character or soul or something...unlike many of the other corporate or generic beer bars in town. Most of the places that have been nominated have no business being on this list. For Atlanta, it's either Mopps or the Brickstore.
