After reading Sandra's experience I am mortified but not surprised! A new manager was hired on at the Ammon Sonic 6 weeks ago and has done an amazing job, along with his new crew, at "cleaning" things up and making the Sonic name good again. I can not speak for the management that was responsible for the mix up with Sandra but I am sure the new manager would feel anxious to deal with the experience she had with honor and integrity. The new Sonic is clean, the new crew is courteous and I am sure you will find the food outstanding! It is now a family oriented environment and I enjoy going there often.

My husband and I had just moved from Springville, UT, where we LOVED Sonic. So we were excited to go to a familiar place. Unfortunately, the only thing familiar was the name. First of all, when we pull up to an intercom/menu we pressed the button and nothing happened. We waited and pressed it again, but were again met with silence. Finally, we pulled out and moved to another parking space, thinking the intercom was broken. It was, because the next one worked fine. When the carhop girl came out with our food we told her about the broken intercom and suggested that they put an out-of-order sign on it, and she looked at us with this haughty look like "That's not my job." So much for the service. Now on to the food.
I ordered a chicken kids' meal because I wasn't super-hungry, and my husband ordered a special jalepeno burger they had at the time WITHOUT cheese because he can't digest it. After a looooong wait they brought out the food. My chicken was rubbery and cold, and my fries were also cold. The "prize" for the kids' meal was a . . . . . . balloon, uninflated. I was so underwhelmed. My husband's burger had cheese melted on it, so we had to send it back. After waiting another loooong time, they brought out a new sandwich, but they'd forgotten the jalepenos! We were running late by this time, so we had to leave, and we ended up paying the special burger price for a regular hamburger!

After this horrible experience we wrote a letter to the owner, but we never heard anything back. He didn't offer us any coupons (NOT that we'd use them) or an apology or a promise to fix things--nothing! Apparently the owner doesn't care about his business, which explains why the employees don't either. We have warned our friends ever since not to eat there, but those that didn't listen to us report that things are as bad as ever.

If you want to go to Sonic, go to the one on Yellowstone and 17th!

Founded in 1953 as a hamburger-and-root-beer stand, this nostalgic eatery is known for its intercom ordering system and roller-skating carhops. While servers rarely roller skate anymore, the famous made-to-order,…
