Good salesmanship - bad service. This company's owner/director, Mike Ward, is a good salesman who has all the answers when selling the product. He seemed very professional, knowledgeable, and the service was competitively priced.

Last August (2007) I had A. Waterseal, inc. install their basement waterproofing system in my house. I had a couple of problems after work was completed. Clean-up was not very well done. Cement footprints were all over my driveway for weeks. Also, we lost hot water the day after work was complete, and the Sunoco serviceman who came to look at the problem said it seemed obvious that the work done around the oil tank the day before had disturbed or damaged the oil line. He was at my house several hours trying to restore hot water. Thankfully he was successful.

When I contacted Waterseal about the above problems, they dragged their feet getting back to me, and finally the owner, Mike Ward sent me a rude e-mail accusing me of complaining about 'minor issues.' He put the oil line problem down to my not being responsible in getting my boiler maintained. (I have had it cleaned and serviced every year!) I decided to just let it go as the boiler now seemed OK, and just hoped I wouldn't have to deal with him again.

Unfortunately, in the heavy rain we had in June of this year, and again recently, I had water seepage in the basesment - in the same place as before the 'waterproofing' system was installed! I contacted A. Waterseal and left several messages, which were not returned. On one occasion, however, I called and managed to reach Mike Wards' wife, Karen. She said the service dept. would contact me. They never did. I continued to call and leave messages, and send e-mails. I enlisted the help of Servicemagic, who had referred this co. to me. They too did not receive a satisfactory response and advised me to contact the Better Business Bureau in DE. The BBB contacted me this week to say that A. Waterseal never responded to their inquiries, and now has an unsatisfactory rating with them. They advised me to get in touch with the Attorney General....which I will do this week. (9/28/08)
