5 Stars: Still lovin it! (by yogieo)

I have been coming here for years and it is still the best bbq I have had here. I love the down home enviorment and the fact that this has always been family owned. I have been to a few of the chain bq places and must say the way to make great bbq is not in a cookie cutter fashion. They actually showed me the ovens nce. It;s amazing what goes into making great bbq, because anyone can make 'good' bbq. Try this place for catering too, they have this huge bbq out front that they will bring to yur party or just wrap it up to go. Two thumbs up on this bbq place. BBQ lovers unite!

5 Stars: Best Texas Bar-B-Q in DFW By Far!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (by Kliff J.)

If you know or even just pretend to know anything about true high quality Texas bar-b-q, then I dont need to tell you about Back Country Bar-B-Q at the n/e corner of Greenville Ave. & Park Lane in Dallas, TX because you have already experienced the best Texas bar-b-q in DFW for yourself! I have been patronizing Back Country Bar-B-Q for the past 30+ years its been in business in the Dallas area. They are obviously doing something right to be able to say they have been open in Dallas for this long. The most amazing thing about Back Country is that it has been family owned and operated since the beginning, which means no corner cutting here. I can say without a doubt, from eating here for so long, that their bar-b-q has stayed Texas true since day one and the quality has not diminished one bit from the first time I ate here, which is pretty much unheard-of these days. I recommend Back Country Bar-B-Q to anyone that has not had a chance to enjoy true high quality Texas bar-b-q and I know you will be coming back for more, just like I have been over the last 30 years.

5 Stars: Best BBQ in Texas (by mellyp)

Wow, daddy whoever must have been having a bad day or isn't a true Texan. Back Country is my all time favorite restaurant. I eat there at least twice a week. They are consistently good, which isn't easy to find around here. They have the best beef brisket and pork ribs I have ever eaten. Their vegetables are all out of this word especially their cole slaw, potato salad, cream spinach and their famous backed potato casserole. If you are in the mood for some down home Texas style bbq you definitely should give them a try, you wont regret it !!!!

1 Stars: You have got to be kidding me (by daddymigs)

Worst dining experience I've ever had. The guy behind the counter was overtly rude - and I mean rude. Seemed like he was offended at his lot in life - which is being a fat ,ugly, bald 50 something cutting meat for a twenty something that obviously knows a ton more about bbq than he does. We should have walked out then, but I wanted to try the bbq - big mistake. The brisket had no flavor whatsoever - I guess these people haven't ever heard of rub...It wasn't seasoned AT ALL. Just meat. What? The sausage actually tasted like Alpo (yes, that's dog food) - I'm not sure how they managed that. The sauce tasted like liquid smoke mixed with ketchup and vinegar. The beens tasted like they were straight out of a can, with a cup of brown sugar added. I love bbq, but couldn't stomach this awful food. At least my dogs got a treat out of this debacle.

This is not bbq, people. Real Texas bbq involves a stack of white bread, some cheddar cheese, pickles, onions, and meat that is actually seasoned and smoked on mesquite.

If you want a rude waiter, go to D's Last Resort. If you want bbq, go to literally any other bbq joint in town - trust me, it will be better.

5 Stars: Finger LICKING good (by La Vi B.)

This was some really good barbecue. I went here to sample the menu for a cookout that our company hosted. This was my first stop and my last stop. The manager was so cool he had every item that he offered on the menu available for me to taste. The food was so tasty, smoked and seasoned to perfection and juicy. The prices were great. On the day of the event they delivered with class, dignity, excellence and precision. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. They have Great food, a great staff and great prices

5 Stars: BEST BBQ IN TEXAS! (by jdgonzales)

It's NOT even close. This place has the best BBQ in TEXAS!! Some guy wrote in that he would not take his date there because he thought there wasn't enough ambience. Dude, if you want ambience take your date to the Ghost Bar @ Hotel W. If you want to know where the BEEF is, shake some tail to Back Country. Our Jesuit Alumni Assn. has has about 4 parties there in the last 18 months and we are scheduled again for September. The guys AND dates loved it! Lots of parking, TV's to watch some sports and great service. JD

5 Stars: Great price, great bbq, great for parties of all kinds too (by wendyyork)

Back Country BBQ is just, that. Good all American bbq at it?s best! (In Dallas is that a five star American restaurant). Here's a place to get good food. It's known for its barbecue. Great Sweet tea and a huge room for parties. When you step inside the restaurant, you'll notice a family atmosphere. This BBQ ?joint? restaurant is very affordable. The catering offers an option of them bringing a big bbq smoker right to your function for up to 200. This place is good for groups, kids and family! Hang on to your hat for some great bbq!

3 Stars: This place has been around a long time & they need to update the interior (by lovemykids)

We've been here several times & it's cafeteria style dining. The food is good, I love the pork ribs, potato salad & the beans. The inside needs to be updated so I would not take a date here. The lot had some shady looking people lingering around, so don't go at night.
