369 Oriental Bistro at the corner of Westheimer and Montrose is the creation of Delven Hwang, former chef from Kam's Chinese. Enjoy outstanding Chinese dishes made with the freshest ingredients expertly prepared to your taste. Try our Houston diner's favorite appetizer, crunchy fried asparagus in spicy jalapeno sauce and enjoy our amazing Tropical Shrimp, lightly battered in peaches and pineapple.
A friend and I decided to try 369 Bistro last week, after finding our favorite "Ming's" has closed. The hot and sour soup was delicious and filled with mushrooms, different that what i was used to, but absolutely great! The spicy fried asparagus was to die for. Really a meal in itself. Service was very good, attentive yet not hovering waiter, Fair prices.I recommend this restaurant.

The chicken and broccoli is to die for. I come here at least once a week for lunch. It is amazing. The prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent. I would also recommend getting the fried rice. This place is a keeper!

I love their General's, it has jalapeno's in it. But the female as mentioned in other reviews is spot on, very blunt and can come off rude. I work downtown, so driving over here is a bit out of my way. When I call in a order for pickup, and there is no one inside, i'd expect it to be about ready by the time I get there since I wait a while before leaving.
Apparently they didn't believe the order was real. They waited until we showed up before starting. Needless to say I was late getting back to work. I haven't been back since.
Their General's is very very good. Probably one of the best in Houston.
Pros: General
Cons: Blunt service

This place has the best egg drop soup ever. It offers really great food and great service in a really nice atmosphere, for a very reasonable price. Definitely my favorite. I go at least once a week.
Pros: Egg drop soup, great food, great service, nice atmosphere
Cons: Rice is just ok.

I stopped by one Saturday afternoon for a quick bite while running errands. Had the spring rolls. Delicious and great spicy sauce!!
Then I ordered two more to take to my Mom to-go. I raved about them. When she ate them there were no shrimp in any of the rolls, wilted cabbage, and no sauce.
Cheaters!!
Pros: Great food if you dine in
Cons: They cheat you on take out

Ever since I started college, I have been going to this place for a couple of years for lunch. I thought it had pretty decent oriental food (which would be a complement being that I am Asian). One day at the beginning of the year, we came here for lunch and my boyfriend found a strand of hair (armpit hair?) in his soup. The waiter was nice enough to get him a new cup of soup. From then one he didn't want to come back. But today, I persuaded him that it was fine and that we should have lunch there today. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I was eating my broccoli and my last one had a cocoon with a larvae inside. I looked closely and I can seen the woven details of the cocoon and the segments on the larvae. We told the waiter and he took it to the back. He came back and apologized for it. Of course we found out that they don't wash their vegetables and just steam it. But that wasn't even the problem. The female Chinese manager/owner didn't even come over and apologize. I walked up to her and asked her what she thought about the situation. She glared at me and told me, rudely, it was rice. Hello, I am Asian and I know what cooked rice looked like and I am a biologist so I know what a cocoon and larvae looks like. I told her it was definitely a cocoon with a larvae. She exhaled in frustration, shook her head, punched in the numbers on the calculator very hard, and said she will give me a couple of dollars off. So I agree mnbecker, she is rude and she always had seemed rude when I came there. But the waiter was very attentive and nice so we still gave him a good tip. Well, that's it for me. I'm not coming back. She just lost herself a couple of frequent customers and maybe more.
Pros: Good hot and sour soup
Cons: Unwashed and dirty food, rude female manager/owner

I have eaten at this restaurant a couple of times and had delivery a couple of times as well. I have always thought that the food was "decent" at best, but it is close to my house and they deliver. There are several other Chinese food restaurants in this neighborhood that have much better food (and offer a better value), but again they don't deliver.
However, tonight I tried to place a telephone order for delivery and the woman on the phone was EXTREMELY rude and acted as if I was inconviencing here by asking questions about the menu - then she hung up on me! Not only will I never eat at this restaurant again - I will let ensure that everyone that I inform others about their horrible service.
The funny thing here is that they have a banner hanging outside their restaurant claiming that 5they have a "5 star" rating on Citysearch (which is actually 4.5 stars) and only includes 5 ratings...

Delicious food. Attentive service. Clean and quiet environment. I know the kitchen is clean in a restaurant if the bathroom is clean. Here it is clean. Very resonably priced also.
Read a CitySearch review with glowing results. Believing too many advertisements sometimes I decided to take my family and risk trying it. We usually eat some type of Asian food once a wek or more and thought we knew all the best places. Except this one. Will return frequently or get take-out there.
Pros: VERY good menu and well seasoned food. Above and beyond the majority of Asian restaurants
Cons: none to write about.

The environment just makes you feel comfortable. The waiters/waitress are very nice and friendly. The food is GREAT, I always try something new every time I go in and I've never been disappointed. Also, you get a lot more food than what you pay for, but not so much you have left over. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I have been receiving delivery from 369 Oriental Bistro for a while now. I am never disapointed when I choose to order from them. They are timely on their deliveries and the food always arrives fresh and hot. My favorite dish to order has been the General Tao's Chicken. I have eaten at many other Chinese restaurants around Houston and Oriental Bistro's General Tao's is right up there with the best of them. They serve the General Tao's Chicken with deep fried bits of chicken seasoned with ginger, garlic, soy sauce, etc. with hot chili peppers and jalapenos. The dish is served with steamed brocolli which in the sauce, is very tasty. I recomend this restaurant to any lover of Chinese food.
Pros: General Tao's Chicken, Spring Rolls, Egg Drop Soup, ect.
Cons: I haven't had anything I didn't like. Don't expect perfect service, but not terrible.

I remember ordering more things at this place, but I was truly wowed by the General Tsao's chicken. It was balanced complex, and with large chunks of chicken. I would go back to get it again, but Weight watchers doesn't allow me to always indulge. As I said, the other entrees we got were good, but not back-flip-worthy like the chicken.
Pros: Chicken! Reasonable wait time
Cons: slightly pricier for chinese dinner than i'm used to
