Sounds like Somerset Pools and Spas here in Narellan Australia. Poor workmanship and will blame the customer for any issues with the pool.

My review sounds like all the others written here. My pool is one year old, the cool decking is cracking, my fountain leaks.. among other things. Luckily I don't have any problems yet with the electrical or cleaning system. It was a nightmare from the beginning. I do love my pool and just pray I don't have any major problems for a long, long time! I do have the name and number of the rock waterfall contractor, the cool decking company and the excavating company if anyone would like that information. 480-203-0032.

Do not use this company. It took photos and getting nasty on the phone for anything to be taken care of. Our pool is 2 years old and has so many problems. Then again, there were problems to begin with that were never properly taken care of. Our wiring is a mess. Stucco was blown off the side of our house but the contractor said it wasn't him so Somerset did nothing. The tile work looked as though it was completed by children. Our in ground cleaning system works terrible. We liked the idea of the small company but in the future with stick with larger companies who employ their workers and don't contract out every single job. Even after months of complaints and issues, I feel as though we have a $40,000 burden in our backyard. With all our complaints and issues, the company had the nerve to send us a bill (after a year) for $30 that somehow was not included in our contract price.

We had our pool built in 2005, there were many delays due to "things beyond our control", we put up with it and our pool was finished in over 3 months time. The first time we turned our rock waterfall on it leaked all over the ground around it. We called, they sent some young man out who took some kind of caulking and applied it around the stones. The following week, we turned it on again, same thing. They sent the same person out to fix it. Again, it was still leaking. I finally called and spoke with owner and told them this was their last chance to fix it correctly; otherwise, I wanted the whole thing torn down and rebuilt. The owner himself came out and did it correctly on the third try!So... less than 2 yrs later our cool deck started to crack and peel away. My husband called and left several messages over the course of three weeks time. We never heard back from the warranty dept. It was not until I called and sent a nasty letter with PHOTOS of the work (there were numerous areas) that I heard back from someone. They arranged for someone to come. We left the dogs inside all day, they never showed. We called again, finally, someone came and repaired it. OK, now it is less than a year from that time and it is starting to peel and crack again!! Their work is shoddy and now I am finding out they are out of business?? That is what we get for giving the smaller businesses OUR business!! I try and give my business to the local small businesses and this is what I get! Lesson learned, the hard way!!!

After spending 5 months researching pool builders I decided to build my pool with Somerset pools in Tempe, with good recommendations from a co worker. I was very worried because of all the pool companies going out of business and hearing all the nightmare stories of pools not being finished and monies being taken without work done. Somerset finished my pool after several months of calls and re calls for warrantee work to be done. They finally stopped returning my calls and when I called them again I got their voice mail and soon after I got a out of order recording. I called Reno the owners cell I talked to him about the business he said he has gone out of business do to the down turn in the housing market. I did not get any help from him regarding the remaining warranty work that needed to be done. He said that the board on contractors would help me some on the equipment because of the warranty on the product was still good because Hayward is still in business and warranties their product but as far as the workmanship I would have to pay for that thru another pool company. So I paid over $35,000 for a pool that has very little warranty. I have only had the pool for less than one year. So I guess all my research did not help. If anyone knows the sub contractors he used please post that information so maybe we can call them to stand behind their work. Concerned pool owner
