Randall was very informative on maintaining a safe fireplace. Our damper was broken but he had parts to fix it. We have never had a cap on top of chimney so he installed one for us. We are very satisfied. We recommend him highly.

Our freestanding gas stove needed cleaning. I had called several companies and everyone was booked 4-6 weeks out. I called Randall on 12/22/14 and he answered politely and scheduled me for the next day. He estimated the cost would be $129 + tax. He did a great job and made sure none of the ash/creosote did not drift by vacuuming as he did the work. During the process he found that the stove had been converted from wood burning to gas logs and the original 6" pipe was not cleaned at the time of installation. Creosote had been drifting down which was a code violation. It now meets building code. I would definitely use Randall's service again and highly recommend him to others.

Called these guys (and several others) after the rain cap over the chimney fell off. They came out, pointed out the small amount of masonry work to be done, and then came up with options. We also were about to call chimney people as we were needing a 2nd opinion on a steel tube in the chimney as part of a furnace upgrade. One of the furnace quotes recommended a $750 chimney pipe because of the excess heat from the more efficient furnace.

What was funny about Randall's observation was that if the furnace was more efficient then the heat would stay in the house and not go up the flue. Saved us $750.

They quickly and efficiently did some minor sealant work on our chimneys (we recently purchased the house) and gave us options on the chimney top. As kind of a side thought he mentioned the idea of a larger chimney cap covering the exhaust over our furnace and both chimneys - the idea being it would protect the entire chimney. I asked more and we eventually went with the custom cap which, in retrospect, was a great idea and looks really nice. It shocks me still to see as many unprotected chimneys after realizing the damage starting to occur to our chimney due to rain.

Final observation - with any company issues arise and that's where customer service is really tested. During a major wind storm the cap blew off. I called him up and he reminded me that they guarantee their work. Sure enough they came and went a couple days later - funny part was we likely were not at home but we noticed it was back up on our chimney. No excuses - just came and took care of it. That's what I call service. We will be using them for our chimney cleanings for sure.
