did exactly what he said he was going to do and cleaned up after himself and looks great

Pros: fast and efficent

.

Chad called me on a Tuesday and set up an appt for the following evening (Wednesday) after a service magic inquiry - I was impressed with the fast response.
On our phone conversation, he told me that he specializes in both drywall and plaster and convinced me that if the cracks in the plaster were not severe, plaster repair would be the way to go. He was a little late arriving but had called to say so. After he forgot his tape measure, and had to borrow mine- he jotted down some notes about the upstairs. He went on and on about his company and the positive reviews online and asked me multiple times if I saw the pictures of the work that he's done. I told him I had and he said that he's been in the business for over 8 years and works until 7 or 8 pm 6 nights a week - as if he was trying to convince me he was the right person for the job.

I told him about some work I was interested in having done downstairs as well, but wasn't sure I wanted to involve both floors at once - still I was interested in an estimate. He measured 1 of 3 rooms and muttered something about how he would have to come back once the room was demoed - not a problem - but he seemed genuinely uninterested. He left shortly after and told me I"d receive an email the following morning. I was doubtful but interested. Again, the appt was on a Wednesday night. The following MONDAY, I called Chad after I hadn't heard from he and he told me he had been busy and I would have an email estimate by the evening. That was over a week ago and I never heard from him!

I can't possibly understand why someone would take the time to come out for a potential job, gloat about their reputable company - and then never respond with an estimate.

Not a company I will ever refer!

I was upset with Chad Miller?s (Miller Plastering) work ethic. I told him that I wasn?t happy with how he did the job and that he didn?t do what he stated in his quote.

Instead of cutting out the tape and replacing it (like stated in his quote) he simply re-taped and spackled which only made the area even wider. When Chad came out to quote the job he told me the reason my ceiling beams are popping is because someone tried to fix them before and it was the tape causing the problem.

I?m extremely disappointed with his work and his work ethic. The impression he gave me prior to doing the job was that he was responsible, honest, and a hard worker. Needless to say, my impression has changed.

Chad and I had agreed that he would do the job on Thursday, August 20th and Friday, August 21st. I scheduled the time off and scheduled my painting job for a few days later.

On August 19th Chad called and told me he couldn?t make it August 20th or August 21st, that he had truck problems and we would have to rescheduled it for Wednesday, August 26th and Thursday, August 27th,
? I had to reschedule my time off from work and push the painters back. Later, at my house, he mentioned that he wanted to clean his house before he went on vacation; that gave me the impression that the delay wasn?t due to truck problems.

I called Chad on the morning of August 25th to confirm that he was still coming.
He returned my call late Tuesday night to tell me that he is going to take an extra day for vacation and would have to reschedule for Thursday, August 27th and Friday, August 28th.

Thursday (8/27/09) Chad spackled and told me he would be back Friday (8/28/09) between 12:00 ? 12:15 so I could work a half day. He called a little after 11:30 on Friday; he was in Bethlehem and couldn?t come until around 1:00. At 1:30, he called again; he was just leaving and had to go home to shower before he could come. I had dinner plans for Friday night and asked him to come Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. I told him the only time he could come on Saturday was from 12 to 3, that didn?t bother him and He chose to come on Saturday.

We agreed that he would come around 12:00. My plans were cancelled due to the weather and I called (8:30am) him to see if he could come earlier, he said he?d be there around 11:00 and he would be done& cleaned up by 2:30. Chad called at 11:30 and told me he just woke up and now he?ll call when he leaves to come. It was close to 2:00 when he got to my house, I?ve wasted so much time waiting for him, I had to rearrange my schedule, several times, and missed time from work because of Chad.

Chad was nice enough to apologize and explain that he had been out the night before drinking with his friends, which didn?t really bother me. I can?t believe I thought you were reliable, Saturday afternoon I was discussing the situation with my neighbor, she thought it was reasonable to tell Chad not bother coming back and that I wasn?t paying him. I like to give everyone the benefit of doubt, so I decided to give him one last chance.

To make matters worse, I felt intimidated by Chad. There were a few things that he said to me that I felt were inappropriate, but I let them go. That is why I had my brother at my house while he was sanding on Saturday.

I hope this helped and makes you think twice before hiring Chad K. Miller (owner of ?Miller Plastering?).

Pros: Overall work is good!

Cons: Does NOT follow what he quotes you for

.

I highly recomend Millre Plastering to anyone. As we are renovating an older house we had to have five rooms and two halways plastered. His work is excellent. We have had several other contractors comment on the quality of his work and we have referred him to anyone in need of good plaster work. Chad gave us a good price and was trustworthy and honest. We were more than pleased with his work and will use him again for future projects. In the last few years we've worked with MANY contractors, Chad was by far the easiest and most reliable.
