I agree with James R. completely. This is got to be the worst Indian Restaurant I have ever been to. There was nobody in the restaurant when we got there, and I would usually walk away, since this not a good sign, but we thought we would give it a chance. BIG MISTAKE. The server/owner was the best part of the meal. Very nice, but the food had absolutely no flavor, the chicken was rubbery and the soda flat. The naan was nothing to write home about either. The only positive thing was the lamb was actually tender, but the korma was god awful!!. Royal India has better flavor to its food and the naan good, but still looking for a better Indian restaurant to try in the Raleigh area. Post any suggestions please

Avoid this restaurant a all cost!! I went by today for the lunch buffet and was utterly shocked at the taste of the food. It started when I ordered a coke. The waiter brought me back a coke which was flat! How can you mess up coke?! It only got worse. The buffet was cold and the chicken dish did not taste like chicken but rubber steak. In addition the food was horrible. I was so shocked that I immediately called my wife. I usually do not write reviews but just had to let the public know about this place. By the way, I was the only one in the restraurant eating.

The only pro was that the waitor was very nice and polite

The food is awesome. I ordered Lamb Korma and Dum Biryani.
The server was very helpful in explaining the three different authentic styles of Biryanis made at the restaurant and gave me the option to select what flavors I would want?
I have never tasted Indian food like this before!!
The best tasting Lamb so far. After inquiring found out that it is the cashew sauce that brings out the smooth flavors in the Korma.
The prices are reasonable for whole gourmet food. I found them still cheaper when compared to the other Indian restaurant in Raleigh.
I will surely recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy some delicious Indian food. They rate as one of the best in my opinion.
I will return to check them out again.

The service is sub-standard, the restraunt is empty during the evenings. Food is ok. But above all, I also found that they changed the prices and charged me more after the dinner was over. I think that the owners need to provide good customer service, and be ethical. Please avoid, and ognore those other starrer comments.

To the person that wrote the 1 star review, are you on drugs? I have been to bombay kitchen twice and plan to go back in the next couple of days. The atmosphere is somewhat simple when you first walk in, but the food makes up for it in a big way. I have had indian food in other parts of the world, and I can honestly say that their food is definitely on par. Their chicken korma is absolutely yummy and add some saffron rice, and wow, what a meal. All in all, we, my family and friends have tried 9 different dishes and have found them to be tasty and very satisfying. Even my 14 years son, who is picky, loved the food and wants to go back. Yes, it is not a FAST FOOD restaurant and the service was a bit slow, but for me and my 16 friends, it was an occassion, where we got to chat and relax. Isn't that what dining out is supposed to be??? More people need to take a minute to smell the roses, so to speak! So, to all those people wanting to try some good, no great indian food, give them a try, and you might be pleasantly surprised!

I was surprised by most of the reviews and decide to check this one out. Being in North Raleigh and very convinient to us.
We had a fantastic time. Enjoyed some great kabobs and mixed grilled tandoor. My impression is that this place is definately not for folks who want to use coupons and do not want to spend for a decent meal served hot at your table. They should try the $5.00 buffets all you can eat. This is a sit-in full service restaurant and we would rate one of the best gourmet Indian rerstaurants.

First Visit: Initialy, we were questioning why it was empty at 8pm on a Wednesday, we found out soon enough. We ordered the Galuti Kabob (lamb) and let's just say it was basically microwaved lamb sausage. It was not "homemade" or "made from scratch" as their advertisements say. This was not worth the $8.95. The Dosai was also cold when it was brought out to us and it barely had any stuff inside ($8.95 for barely anything). We order the Chicken tikka and the Chicken Vindaloo (they ran out of lamb, which is odd since we were able to get the kabobs). These are the two most common indian dishes around, yet they tasted as if someone very inexperienced had cooked it. The rice which came with our food was very cold. My take on the horrible experience: They ran out of the lamb because everyone ate the portions they made in the morning during the lunch buffet. The remainder of the day's lunch buffet unfortunately became our dinner. With their dismal dinner crowd, I can see why they are cutting corners and reheating their food.

Second Visit: Only reason we went was because we had a Restaurant . com Gift Card. BE warned, even if you purchase a $25 gift card for $4, don't use it at this place. I'd rather let my $4 go to waste. I learned the hard way. This time, there was one other couple there, other than us. The somosas were actually decent and I was starting to think it was a fluke that we had such a bad expeience last time. I was wrong. Again the Dosai was cold and unfilling. Another traditional dish, Alu Ghobi, was barely cooked as the cauliflower was still raw. I can't get how they can mess up classical indian dishes.

WORST PART: WARNING!!!! WARNING!!!! They modified the total amount on the credit card receipt after I left the restaurant. The store next door is MORE EXPENSIVE than other indian stores. DO NO EAT OR SHOP HERE. ME: Indian, 29, Uncle owns indian restaurant in DC. I wonder who those are who left 5 star reviews.
