Bilbao Tapas bar and restaurant

This is the first and only tapas restaurant in the University District. The service here is great with the servers willing to explain and help with anything needed. When I went here with a group we tried the Sangria (good, but pricey...which is normal for most tapas places) and had a selection of tapas. All were big enough for everyone in our group of 8 to have a taste.

This restaurant successfully provides the strong flavors, fresh ingredients, and spice I expect from a tapas place...I only wish it wasn't so expensive.

I've been to BilBao on many occasions, ranging from drinks before a movie, to having a party of 25+ people. The staff is wonderful, the sangrias are to savor over, and the ambiance is truly joyous. The food is tasty, and well portioned (as it is a tapas bar). There are Flaminco dancers on Thursday nights, and a live two many guitar duo on Friday and Saturday that sets the tone for romance!

Try the restaurant on a weekend for the full experience filled with music, food, drinks, laughter, and great memories!

never tried the entrees, but have been several times for a drink before going to the metro. service somewhat slow, staff friendly, cocktails well made. the tapas were good, nothing to go out of the way for, but a nice spot if you have some time to kill before a movie. also has live music.
